Chapter 54
She dropped her hand and turned towards Blake, hitting him on his arm “Seriously Blake! You didn’t once think to tell me she was
coming home?! Is this how I’m supposed to welcome my future daughter in law?! You are in a lot of trouble boy”
She said what now??
She turned back towards me, grabbed my shoulders and pulled me into a hug “sweetheart I’m so very sorry! If I would have known you
were coming, I would have made more arrangements. Ugh, this boy. All the things he’s told me about you does you no justice. You are
much prettier than he had described. I’m so glad I finally get to meet you” her eyes were sincere and her smile matched it.
“I Umm.. his told you about me?”
“Yes of course. We’ve all been dying to meet you. Blake kept saying he would bring you around one day but not like this!”
She was almost bouncing from excitement. How much had Blake told her about me?
“I’m sorry, I thought he would have mentioned we were coming. I don’t mean to intrude” I looked at Blake who was rubbing the back of
his head.
“Nonsense! You are not intruding at all, I’m so glad you’ve come. We must celebrate!” She turned to her son “Blake, why don’t you take
Rosy up to your room and get her settled in. I’ll get a nice lunch set up for us outside. I need to call your dad to let him know we’ve got a
very special visitor” she smiled at me.
“Oh don’t disturb him on my account,” I said quickly.
“He needs to be disturbed! Now, you two ran along, I’ll see you soon” there was a bounce in her step as she walked out of the living
area. Blake wasn’t joking even he said she was bubbly.

“Come on, the rooms are this way.” Blake pulled me out of my thoughts.
We walked up the stairs and down a long corridor. This place was huge and gorgeous. The walls were white with gold designs on them
and there was a small chandelier hanging from the high ceiling at every 6 feet.
All the doors upstairs were French doors and had golden knobs on them. I had seen at least doors already and maybe 3 balcony’s that
showed me the spectacular view of the outdoors.
“Why didn’t you tell your mum we were coming?” I broke the silence between us.
“I wanted to give her a surprise. Plus if I told her, she would have gone overboard with welcoming you and I know you wouldn’t have
liked that.” He didn’t stop walking to look at me.
He was right. I didn’t want them making a big deal about me being here, especially since I was waiting for them to kick me out once
they find out about me.
Blake’s strides started to slow down and he finally stopped in front of a door. He opened the door and walked in.

Chapter 54

The room was extravagant. The white walls, white sheets and white curtains were splashed with the perfect amount of gold and royal blue. There was what I imagined a California King bed, pressed up against the far wall with sheer drapes dangling from the bedposts. It
looked very Victorian. There was a set of couches in the middle of the room facing the balcony. My bags were sitting on the bed waiting
for me.
This was more of what I expected a 5–star hotel to look like rather than a personal residence.
“Hey Richie rich, Umm explain to me why you live in that tiny apartment when you can live here?” I said as I looked around in awe.
I heard him chuckle.
“Firstly, it’s not a tiny apartment. Second, this isn’t my house, it’s my parents. I like being an independent male. Every time I staying
here, I feel like I’m being suffocated by my mother’s love”
I laughed at his comment “you privileged asshole. I keep wishing my mother shows even the slightest bit of love for me and here you
are, feeling suffocated”

“Don’t worry, my mother will make up for those years of love you’ve lost. I’ll try to make up for some of it too” his voice was soft and
his words made my insides warm.
I slowly turned around and he was standing behind me now. So close behind me that I could feel the heat from his body radiating.
