My smile taltered slightly.
What did I like to do?
Before being imprisoned, my life revolved around college and work. I liked watching movies, playing video games… But now?
Now, my life was reduced to this cell and the man in front of me.

He tilted his head slightly, waiting patiently. His eyes searched mine, as if he could see right through me.
And for the first time, I realized I might not know the answer anymore.
His fingers glided softly across my face, the touch almost hypnotic.
“What did you enjoy doing when you were free?‘ he rephrased, his voice low but steady.
I blinked, surprised by his interest.
A small smile tugged at my lips.
“I used to love eating teriyaki chicken with rice,” I said, a wave of nostalgia washing over me. “I hate spicy food and bitter coffee.”
He let out a quiet laugh, like he was mentally taking notes.
I also liked watching crime shows…”
I continued, glancing away for a moment.
“I played video games whenever I had time. Read all kinds of books. I still love reading.”
“And friends?” he asked, watching me closely.
I let out a soft sigh.
“I never had time for that. My life was all about school and work. In the few free moments I had, I did those things I mentioned… that was all I had.”
He smiled faintly, but there was something in his expression that made my chest tighten.
As if he was pleased by that answer.
As if it confirmed something he already suspected.
“When we get out of here, you’ll be able to do whatever you want.”
His voice was calm, filled with promises.
“You’ll see the world. Try every kind of food you want. You’ll have clothes from every brand and style.”
My eyes lit up for a moment, the idea of freedom so tempting it felt out of reach.
“You’ll have all the books you want,” he added, leaning in slightly. “I’ll buy an entire library just for you.”
I swallowed hard, a lump forming in my throat.

And I’ll build you your own gaming room. Whatever you want will be yours, because you deserve it, bunny.”
I closed my eyes and rested my forehead against his chest.
“Sometimes, I don’t feel like I deserve anything.”
He ran his fingers through my hair, his voice low and full of conviction,
“You’re wrong, my angel.”
His hand moved to the back of my neck, guiding me gently to look him in the eyes.
“You deserve everything,” he whispered with steady certainty. “And I’m going to make it happen.”
A small smile crept across my lips. His words warmed something inside me..
Without thinking, I leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to his lips.
“Thank you.”
He smiled, his eyes flashing with something intense.
“You don’t need to thank me,” he murmured, his lips brushing mine. “Just stay with me.
I closed my eyes for a second and whispered back,
“Always.”
His gaze deepened, as if those words sealed an unbreakable vow.
He helped me lie back down, pain radiating through every muscle as I moved.
He pulled the blanket up to my waist, then stood to grab the meds and a bottle of water.
“Here, take these.”
I swallowed the pills, the cold water soothing my dry throat.
Once I finished, he climbed into bed beside me, lying down carefully. His forehead rested against my shoulder, and a content sigh left his lips.
“You smell so good, bunny.”
I smiled softly.
‘So do you.”
I closed my eyes, feeling exhaustion pull me under. Even without doing anything, sleep dragged me into unconsciousness.
The last sound I heard was his calm breathing against my skin.
