Chapter 117
And hope, in here, is pure gold.
I reached my cell, still smiling, and gently pushed open the curtain.
Tony was lying on his bed, eyes closed.
“Where’ve you been?” he asked, opening them slowly.
“Helping Elijah with his man,” I replied playfully, throwing myself on top of him.
Tony wrapped his arms around my waist with a sigh.
“You shouldn’t get involved, baby. I’m scared the boss will hurt you.”
He kissed my hair tenderly.
“I didn’t go that far,” I laughed softly. “I just made Elijah seem like he was dying in his cell. It was hilarious to see the Reaper panic–he ran like a madman.”
He chuckled softly.
“A man in love will do anything.”
He kissed my hair again; I hugged him close.
“They remind me of us sometimes. It’s strange.”
Tony sighed deeply.
“I was worse than the boss… I know he doesn’t treat Elijah as cruelly as I treated you. Even though you forgave me, I still feel like garbage.”
I lifted my head and kissed his lips.
“That’s in the past, baby. Now only the future matters.”
I kissed his chin, feeling the familiar warmth that always brought me peace.
He smiled, tipped his face up, and kissed me slowly.
“I have something to tell you… Something I’ve never told you,” he said.
I raised an eyebrow, curious.
“The reason I stayed with the boss wasn’t just because he beat me and took my spot as leader… it runs deeper than that.”

“What do you mean?” I asked, attentive.
Tony took a deep breath.
“He told me that if I wanted to get out of here, I’d have to join his cartel.”
“Cartel?” I repeated, confused.
He chuckled at my reaction.
“It’s extremely dangerous. You always thought he was just a mob boss… But it’s way deeper than that, baby. He controls big operations, and I’ve learned a lot from him since then. Once he gets out, he’s taking me with him. And since he knows we’re together, he’ll take you too.”
A chill formed in my stomach; I sat up on top of him, barely believing my ears.
“Really, Tony? We’ll get out of here?”
“Yeah, baby,” he answered calmly, smiling. “And it’s closer than you think. The boss is just waiting for the FBI to stop watching the prison. As soon as they turn their eyes away, that’s our day. The four of us–me, you, him, and Elijah.”
A lump formed in my throat.
My chest tightened–but with happiness.
A different warmth filled me inside.
Hope flared like wildfire.
“I… I can’t believe we’re finally going to be free…”
I looked into his eyes and kissed him, feeling his smile press against mine.
“I’m going to take you to see the world, Noah. I swear. Just us. Free. Just like we always dreamed.”
My heart pounded.
Happiness exploded in my chest like a silent bomb.
The idea of freedom–something that once felt impossible–now felt real–an actual promise.
A real chance to start over.
I grinned like a lovesick idiot, my eyes stinging with emotion.
“You’re taking me where, huh?” I teased, voice trembling.

He laughed.
“Anywhere you want. Brazil, Russia, Greece, Egypt… even London, if you want. I want to show you it all.”
1 sat cross–legged on top of him, tears of hope glistening.
“I want to see the real ocean. Eat something without looking over my shoulder. Sleep in a soft bed, with you beside me, without fear of someone barging in. I want…” My voice broke. “I want to live.”
He cupped my neck and pressed our foreheads together.
“And we will. We’ll live it all. Together. I promise, baby.”
The happiness was so intense it barely fit in my body.
I felt light.
For the first time in so long, there was a tomorrow worth dreaming about.
