Adam nodded, signaling Wayne to come out and protect Margaery.
Then, he pulled a woman out from the compartment.
Russell was confused by their conversation and turned to look at the compartment.
Only then did he realize Adam had brought out a woman whose features were indistinct.
She was wearing Margaery’s clothes, and her hairstyle was identical to Margaery’s.
The most frightening thing was the hairpin on her head.
That jeweled hairpin!”
“Who…who is she?”
Russell was confused. He looked at the woman, then at Margaery “How are you two exactly alike? This…”
However, Margaery was quite different today from before.
Previously, she wore coarse linen clothes and looked like a beggar.

Today, she was dressed in a white brocade robe. The fine drifting–cloud brocade was a tribute fabric, reserved only for imperial consorts in the palace. Her entire appearance was stunningly beautiful and exuded an air of nobility.
Especially now, kneeling before her, he felt she was even more unattainable.
Russell was stunned. “Margaery, what’s going on with you today?”
He watched as Adam led the woman out, feeling completely bewildered.
It seemed things were not as he had imagined.
Margaery looked at him, unwilling to get entangled any further.
“Lord Russell, to tell you
the
truth, I never intended to keep the appointment today. Someone else was meant to go.”
“But I’m going to watch a traditional opera soon. If you want to come, you can join me. If you don’t and still try to stop me, I’ll have no choice but to poison you.”
Margaery lowered her head, looking at the young man kneeling before her.
Strictly speaking, Russell was not yet twenty, not quite a man, and still had the air of youth on his face.
Margaery was somewhat unsure how to deal with him.
In her previous life, he was her enemy.
Now he was still one of those guarding her, though not of much use.
But at the moment, she had things to do and could not concern herself with him.
She wondered whether he would still be so attentive to her after the Chancellor’s estate fell.
Upon hearing this, Russell glanced at Wayne.

His martial skills were mediocre at best. He could knock out a guard by surprise, but was certainly no match for Wayne.
He also wanted to see what was really happening today.
So he stood up and said, “There’s a guard from the Chancellor’s state downstairs. I knocked him out, but he still needs to be dealt with.”
Wayne looked at him. “I’ll go with Lord Russell.”
As he spoke, he glanced into the shadows.
Another white figure appeared silently on the rooftop, taking Wayne’s place to protect Margaery.
Russell nodded, went downstairs, tied up the guard and gagged him, then went upstairs.
Wayne looked at him, feeling conflicted. “Lord Russell, are you now standing on Lady Margaery’s side?”
“I should have been on her side.” Russell’s voice was almost choked with anguish.
He wished he could go back to the past, before Tessa came to the Wallen family, when the whole family was harmonious and happy, instead of being caught in the middle as he was now, always forced to choose a side.
He truly wished the kidnappers wouldn’t find Margaery today and would simply kill the hostage.
But he knew that was impossible.
Things were far from over because Tessa was in league with the kidnappers.
He had no idea how today’s farce would end.
Feeling conflicted, Russell followed Margaery, Wayne, and the others out of the inn, boarded the carriage, and took a detour to Icy Pool.
Once on the road, he felt a bit timid.
After all, in Walter’s spirit vision, he had helped the other members of the Wallen family kill Margaery.
He glanced nervously at Margaery. “Margaery, do you really not remember your past life?”
Margaery was stunned.
Finally, she forced out a reply, “I do.”
Russell froze completely, standing there like a block of wood, his blood running cold.
‘It’s over!‘ he thought.
Although this time he hadn’t intended to harm Margaery, what he did in his previous life was irreversible, and Margaery was unlikely to forgive him.
Russell’s face turned deathly pale.
Wayne, driving the carriage, smiled faintly.
He hadn’t expected Margaery to be a bit cunning. Not much, but he could imagine how dramatic Russell’s expression had to
be at this moment.

Chapter 210
Meanwhile…
Adam drove the carriage and arrived outside Mercelo Pharmacy
This was the only route to the meeting point mentioned in the letter. No one would suspect him for stopping here.
To make the act convincing, he called out a reminder into the carriage, “Lady, do not come out. It is too cold outside.
“Your subordinate has fetched the medicine and will return immediately”
With that, he took a prescription and entered Mercelo Pharmacy
The carriage was parked in a corner. Once inside Mercelo Pharmacy, the carriage was no longer visible.
Joshua, hiding in the shadows, was overjoyed. “I thought we would need to distract him, but he left on his own!”
“The time is right. Let’s move!”
At his command, several dark figures rushed toward the carriage
In no time, they dragged Keaton out from inside.
“Mm… mm…” Keaton’s eyes widened as she struggled desperately.
However, having been drugged and her acupoints struck, she was completely powerless, her efforts futile.
Joshua merely glanced at her. Seeing her face densely covered with blisters, he felt a bit disgusted.

He only gave a cursory look at the jeweled hairpin on her head, then sneered, pulled it out, and tucked it into his sleeve pocket.
“With her face ruined and the jeweled hairpin gone, even if they investigate after her death, it won’t be traced back to us!”
His mind was wholly focused on rescuing Tessa, paying no attention to Keaton’s struggles, still believing she was truly Margaery.
Upon hearing this, Keaton was so terrified that her eyes nearly popped out.
She didn’t want to die in Margaery’s place, especially not in such a miserable way.
“Mm…mm…”
She twisted and struggled frantically but was no match for Joshua and the other man. She was directly hauled to the Chancellor’s estate and thrown onto the snow.
“Father, we’ve captured her!”
Joshua, panting, looked toward Raul.
“Alright!”
Raul was delighted. His gaze fell on Keaton, who was slumped on the ground, his pupils narrowing slowly. “Margaery, you finally get what you deserve.”
Then, his body began to tremble, hatred undisguised. “You hired kidnappers to abduct Tessa, but you did not expect that the person they wanted was you, did you?”
During the time Joshua was out, Raul had already concocted a scenario and confirmed with Andrew and Avery that events had unfolded just as they suspected.

Someone wanted to kill the Star of Fortune, so they pretended the kidnappers and loitered near Margaery. However, after witnessing Sullivan of Lakeburgh die at the hands of the guards from Dashnell’s residence, the kidnappers no longer dared to act directly.
Thus, they chose a more circuitous approach.
First, they captured Tessa, then threatened the Wallen family to hand over Margaery.
With no other option, they impersonated Phillipa and Christina to trick Margaery into coming.
Raul stared at her, “You have usurped Tessa’s fortune, and now you must return it all to her!”
“Mm… mm…”
Keaton twisted on the ground in an awkward, undignified posture, her eyes nearly bulging out.
‘No! I’m not Margaery, I’m Shadow Doctor!‘
Yet, she and Margaery both have big eyes.
With her eyes swollen from poisoning, it was hard to tell anything.
Unable to speak, she could only listen to Raul’s nonsense, feeling that the Wallen family were both foolish and mean, yet she was powerless.
Seeing her unwilling expression, Raul couldn’t help but kick her, then asked Andrew, “Has Shadow Doctor not returned yet?”
