Chapter 109
Eliana could feel Nathan’s mood shift, but since he kept it to himself, she didn’t feel like asking.
She really didn’t want to get swept up in anyone else’s feelings ever again in this lifetime.

So when the car started moving, and she noticed Nathan’s unhappy expression, Eliana just turned to look out the window, not saying a word.
Nathan stared at her, took a few deep breaths, and finally could hold back anymore. “Just tell me, what’s going on between you and Logan Eliot?”
He tried to keep his tone cool, but the frustration in his voice was obvious.
“Eliana, you just hired that lawyer for your divorce. I thought you were serious about ending things, but then you went to the amusement park with Logan and Samuel?
“Honestly, I don’t get you at all,” Nathan said. “So, Eliana, do you even want this divorce or not?”
Eliana’s brows furrowed as she listened to Nathan’s almost accusatory words.
As far as she was concerned, there was nothing between them anymore; she didn’t owe him any explanation.
But since Nathan was the one who introduced her to that lawyer, she couldn’t just act like he didn’t matter at all.
After staring out the window for a while to calm herself down, Eliana finally said, her tone earnest, “I’m really angry that Logan made a fuss over those photos, but Nathan, I honestly had no idea he’d pull something like that.
“I’m Samuel’s mom. When he called and said he missed me, that he wanted to spend the day together, I just couldn’t say no.
“Even if I’m not planning to fight for custody after the divorce, just wanting to take him out once in a while really isn’t too much to ask.”
She added, “I figured Logan would just drop Samuel off, but he said Samuel was still recovering from surgery and needed special care. He wasn’t comfortable letting Samuel go alone, so he insisted on coming with us.”
As Eliana kept talking, her voice trembled slightly. She couldn’t help but get a little worked up.
Honestly, Eliana felt both frustrated and helpless. Those photos had left her feeling powerless, and she just wanted to put this whole mess behind her as soon as possible.
But with Nathan pressing her like this, it just made her feel even more overwhelmed.
As she finished, a wave of regret washed over Nathan.
“I get it, Eliana,” Nathan said, glancing at her, his voice earnest. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have talked to you that way.”
“It’s fine,” Eliana murmured, her tone distant. She turned back to the window, shutting him out once more.
Seeing Eliana looking so crestfallen, Nathan absolutely loathed himself for the way he’d just treated her.
Nathan was just jealous and worked up, but he had to go and turn it into some kind of interrogation.
Nathan knew better than anyone how much she’d put up with during those years with Logan; what she needed most right now was some respect. ‘So what the hell am I doing?‘ he wondered.
Nathan glanced over at Eliana again, and seeing her so lost and alone, regret surged up inside him all at once.

But once those words were out, there was no taking them back. Now, no matter what he said, it felt like it was already too late.
Nathan hesitated, the words he wanted to explain lingering on his lips, but in the end, he just couldn’t bring himself to say
them.
At least when it came to the lawyer, he hadn’t lied. Richard really had just messaged him, asking if Eliana was available to come by.
He knew Richard was just trying to give him another chance to connect with Eliana, but he’d managed to screw it up all on his own.
Nathan’s expression grew more somber as he kept his attention on driving.
Ever since he came back, Nathan could tell Eliana was still the same as before. She was like a firecracker, set off at the slightest spark. Seeing her still fuming, he didn’t dare say another word.
It wasn’t until they finally arrived and parked that Nathan turned to her and said, “We’re here.”
“Okay,” Eliana replied, getting out of the car without another word.
Nathan let out a long sigh and got out after her.
Richard came out to greet them as soon as he heard the noise. The moment Eliana saw him, she quickly put on a polite smile. “Sorry to bother you so late, Mr. Luther.”
“No trouble at all. It comes with the territory,” Richard replied.
After a few pleasantries, Richard had someone lead Eliana inside, then hung back a step and glanced at Nathan. “Did you piss her off?”
Nathan raised an eyebrow. “That obvious, huh?”
Richard let out a soft laugh. “Here’s some good news for you. She still cares about you.”
Nathan’s steps faltered. “Don’t joke about that.”
“Who’s joking? I’m not messing around when it comes to this,” Richard said, his tone serious.
Richard looked Nathan straight in the eye. “She might not even realize it, but you stand out from the rest in her heart.
“She’s polite to everyone else, but with you, she loses control of her emotions. That’s how you know she cares.”
“But in her eyes, there’s just too much between you two. Nathan, the road ahead won’t be easy for you,” Richard added.
With that, Richard started walking ahead.
Nathan listened to Richard’s words, his gaze drifting past him to Eliana. A faint smile tugged at his lips.
The road ahead might be tough, but he wasn’t backing down. Now that he’d made up his mind to come back, he’d wait as long as it took, and do whatever it took to bring her back to his side.
Because of those photos Logan posted, Richard ended up talking with Eliana for ages, making sure he got the whole story. After that, he suggested she report it to the police.
Even if it might not cause Logan much trouble, they could probably get the photos taken down.

Just having those photos yanked right after they went up was enough to make the Eliot Group sweat with all the gossip and backlash.
Eliana understood instantly and kept thanking Richard, genuinely grateful for his help.
Once she was out of there, she didn’t hesitate for a second; she went straight to the police station to file a report, and she signed the divorce papers with Logan in hand.
“Logan only posted these photos, which were taken through illegal means, because we’re getting divorced, and he wanted to offset the fallout from that video incident earlier,” Eliana explained.
“I never agreed to have these photos taken or posted online, so I want them taken down as soon as possible,” she added firmly.
Eliana looked the officer straight in the eye, laying out her case with determination,
The officer immediately started taking notes. “Got it, Ms. Lyons. We’ve recorded your request, and we’ll notify them first thing tomorrow morning.”
Eliana thanked him over and over, feeling her mood instantly lif
