As they walked out of the police station, Nathan turned to her and asked seriously, “Do you have anything else to do?”
Eliana looked up in surprise, then glanced at her watch. “It’s alrealy this late. No, I don’t have anything else to do. Shouldn’t we just head home and get some rest?”
“How about we grab a drink?” Nathan suggested, his tone earnest “We’ve been running around all day, and in the end, everything turned out okay. Don’t you think we should celebrate”
Eliana thought for a moment, then nodded. “I guess that’s fine.”
It had been a long, exhausting day, and Eliana wasn’t usually one for drinking, but right now, she really wanted a drink.
Just something to help her relax.
When he saw her agree, Nathan’s lips curled into a genuine smile. “Alright, let’s
- go.
I’ll take
you
somewhere special.”
Eliana didn’t give it much thought and just got into the car with Nathan.
The car kept going until Nathan finally pulled over, and Eliana was totally blown away by the sight before her.
There it was, a bar shaped just like a sailboat, sitting right on the water. It was exactly the idea she’d come up with back in high school.
Back then, she’d sketched out a design and handed it to Nathan, telling him seriously, “Nathan, I’m going to open a bar like this someday.
“I’ll gather stories from all over the world, put them together, and make them into a collection.”
Her most genuine dream from those youthful days had been washed away by the years, and she’d long since let go of that idea herself. But she never thought Nathan would still remember
Her heart, which had been dead and quiet for years, suddenly came alive, beating wildly.
She was so overwhelmed that she worried she might lose her composure in front of Nathan. So she just stood there, fists clenched, not moving an inch for a while.
Seeing her like that, Nathan shot her a suspicious look, leaned in and peered at her. “Come on, Eliana, don’t tell me you don’t recognize it?
“Back then, who was the one who said, ‘Nathan, just wait and see I’m definitely going to open a bar like this?‘ And now you’ve totally forgotten?”
Nathan had expected Eliana to be totally excited when she saw the bar, maybe even freaking out.
But after waiting forever, she was just standing there like a statue. Honestly, it kind of ticked him off, so he couldn’t help but get a little snarky.
Eliana finally looked up at him, her voice serious. “I told you I wanted to open it myself. Why did you have to take my idea?”
Nathan frowned, clearly annoyed. “I didn’t steal your idea. I built this for you. It’s a gift. Your birthday’s coming up, so just think of it as your present. Come on in and check it out, Ms. Lyons.”
Saying that, Nathan strode inside first, leaving Eliana standing at the entrance.

Chapter 110
As she watched Nathan’s back, Eliana’s eyes grew misty in an instant.

Her heart was in turmoil. She never imagined that after ten years, Nathan would still remember that tiny dream she’d had and actually make it real for her.
Eliana looked up at the sky, trying to steady herself, and finally took a deep breath before following him inside.
The bar was fully renovated and ready, but it hadn’t officially opened yet, so there were no customers inside. Still, the shelves behind the counter were lined with bottles of liquor, all neatly arranged.
When Eliana walked in, Nathan smiled and said, “As the very first guests of this place, what should we drink?”
Eliana didn’t know much about alcohol, so after scanning the shelves, she picked out the bottle that looked the most exquisite.
Seeing her choice, Nathan let out a soft laugh. “Trust you to go straight for the expensive stuff.”
Even so, he grabbed the bottle, took two glasses, and led the way to the bow of the boat. “Let’s drink out here, the evening breeze is just right for your sentimental streak.”
Eliana couldn’t help but chuckle at his words.
He was still as sharp–tongued as ever, but tonight, Eliana found she didn’t mind it at all.
They walked out onto the deck together and sat down across from each other.
Nathan poured her a drink, then poured one for himself.
Once he was done, he raised his glass to Eliana. “To you, Ms. Lyons, your dream from ten years ago is finally coming true.”
Eliana smiled, raised her glass, clinked it lightly against his, and knocked it back in one shot.
Nathan tried to stop her, but she was too quick for him.
Watching her drain the glass, he just shrugged and poured her another.
After six years stuck with someone like Logan, she really needed to blow off some steam.
Besides, with Nathan here, she knew he’d keep her out of trouble
Eliana had no clue what kind of crazy thoughts Nathan was having right now. After finishing her drink, she looked at him seriously. “This is just too much, Nathan. I can’t accept something like this.”
“Then let’s call it a joint venture,” Nathan replied lightly. “Your idea, my investment. Fair deal, right? From now on, we split everything down the middle, the bar’s profits, and every story we collect, we share them, too.”
Eliana couldn’t help but laugh again at his words. She took a deep breath, raised her glass again, and knocked it back in one
- go.
As the alcohol started to hit her, she grinned at Nathan. “Seriously, how do you even split a story in half?”
“You hear it, then you tell it to me. That’s half and half, right?” Nathan said with a straight face. “Besides, you’ll have all the time in the world to share them with me.”
But he said the last part so softly, almost to himself.
He pictured their future, just the two of them, old and married, sitting in the yard, her holding his hand and telling him all the interesting stories she’d heard at the bar that day.

Chapter 110.
They’d never run out of things to talk about.
While Nathan was thinking about all this, he watched as Eliana poured herself another drink.
Her cheeks were rosy, her lips soft and pink. There was something, indescribably beautiful about her tonight.
Nathan couldn’t take his eyes off her, totally entranced,
Nathan just couldn’t wrap his head around how anyone could bear to treat the girl he’d wanted to protect and treasure for the past ten years like this.
He’d been looking into everything that went down between her and Logan, and the more he heard from people who knew the story, the more it hurt.
Honestly, at this point, he wanted that divorce to happen even more than Eliana herself.
Watching her, Nathan saw Eliana try to stand, but she was so drunk she nearly toppled over. He jumped up and caught her just in time, wrapping her up in his arms.
The moment he held her tight, all those feelings he’d been bottling up just came rushing out, and he couldn’t hold them back anymore.
