My sull’s sure schoed in my head, sharp with frustration. He had been affer me ever since that argument I had with Olivia.
You pushest her away again. Accused her. Itort her.”
I clenched my law, gripping the edge of my desk. I knew that.
“Do you? my wolf sneered. ‘Because if you did, you wouldn’t be here making excuses. You wouldn’t be trying to justify the way you keep breaking her.”
My body tensed. She was attacking Evelyn again. If she hadn’t brought it up, I wouldn’t have lost my temper.
‘Pathetic excuse,” my wolf snapped. “That woman nearly destroyed her, made everyone believe Olivia was a murderer, and wanted you to execute her–even after knowing she was with pup–and yet you still defend her?! She accused Olivia of something she didn’t do. If it was simply an accident, then she should have come clean and not accused someone else.”
I growled under my breath. It wasn’t that simple.
It is,” he snarled. “You just refuse to see it.”
I exhaled heavily, pressing my fingers against my temples. Olivia’s face flashed in my mind–her eyes filled with betrayal, the way she had looked at me as if I had shattered whatever little hope she had left.
The image made something twist painfully in my chest.
My wolf was right.
Again.
I had been cruel, Unforgivably so.
And for what? For a lie? I was at fault too. I judged her too quickly, without proper investigation. And that too because Evelyn said so?
I had made a mistake.
A grave one.
‘Fix it. Before it’s too late.”
1 sighed. I would.
I wasn’t good with words–not when it came to Olivia. But maybe I could show her.
I could only think of one thing at the moment.

Chapter 31
And, I found oneelt at the must panic stement in the pack
Alex Ince frequently visited with Evelyn
A Burton filled my mouth at the thought
That part of my life was over. It never should have existed in the first place.
I spoke with the owner, asking him to prepare something special a night at Olivia would remember. He nodded experty, spor
hesitation.
Now all I had to do was get Olivia to agree.
I arrived early on the day of her discharge with flowers in hand and wearing my best suit. When I walked into the hospital room, Otivis locked
at me with a mixture of shock and suspicion.
“What are you doing here?” she asked, her voice guarded and cold. Something I wasn’t used to hearing,
I ignored the sharp stab of guilt in my chest.
“I came to take you home,” I said simply,
Her lips pressed into a thin line. “I can manage on my own. I’m sure, as the Alpha, you have better things to do.”
I bit back a growl. Stubborn woman.
“You need to rest, Olivia,” I reminded her, keeping my voice even.
“And I know that, and I will rest better if none of you comes near me or bothers me,” she said.
It was a simple statement, but it irked me. Was she saying that my presence disturbed her?
“Please, think of the pup at least.”
At the mention of our child, she hesitated.
A flicker of something unreadable crossed her eyes before she finally exhaled and nodded.
“Fine.”
She climbed into the car without another word, but I didn’t miss the way she kept her body turned slightly away from me, as if to create
distance.
I had no right to feel irritated by it.
because I made her like that.
As I drove, I noticed the moment she realized we weren’t heading back to the Alpha house.

She let out a dry laugh. Aren’t your dates supposed to be reserved for Evelyn only?
She is not my wife, you are,” I answered patiently.
“Oh, you remember that?” she questioned, as if she herself had forgotten his fact.
Olivia, please, let’s not argue,” I gritted my teeth.
“Well, okay. But that’s rich coming from you.”
I gripped the steering wheel tighter. “Olivia-”
“Why?” she cut me off. “What exactly are you trying to prove?”
I inhaled deeply, trying to steady my temper. “Nothing, I just…” I exhaled sharply. “I just want to do something for you.”
She stared at me for a long moment before turning her gaze out the window. “Whatever.”
I wasn’t sure if that was an agreement or not, but she didn’t fight me.
That was enough.
Yet as I glanced at her again, something else caught my attention.
She had lost weight.
A lot of weight.
A deep frown settled on my face.
Had she been eating properly?
Had she been struggling all this time while I had been too blind to see it?
Guilt slammed into me like a wrecking ball.
She was carrying our child, and I had been too consumed with my own damn pride to notice how much she was suffering.
I tightened my grip on the wheel.
