Marina was unfazed by Carrie’s insults, a cold smile curling on her lips
Just then, Chloe came over with the printed documents and handed them to Marita
Marina slid the documents across the table to Carrie.
Carrie had been cursing up a storm, but when the saw the papers, she fell silent for a few seconds for me tamation Lavern’s uncle, as if hoping he’d step in and tell her what to do.
Lavern’s uncle looked puzzled for a moment, then picked up the documents and began to eat fough them
His expression soured as he read.
“You were already guarding against Lavern?” he asked.
Marina’s lips curled into a cold smile as she replied coolly, “Of course. How could I not?
“This company was built with my mother’s inheritance. He’s not even family, yet he took my shares. What more does he want?*
Lavern’s uncle’s face turned rigid and grim.
Seeing his reaction, Carrie leaned in and whispered anxiously, ‘Brother, what’s going on?”
Lavern’s uncle stayed silent for a long moment before finally speaking in a low, grave tone
“Lavern told me before he went in that he still had 21% of the shares. Even if 20% of that was just held in trust, be still had in Ross Group. That 1% alone is worth a lot, at least 30, 000 dollars.”
Carrie’s face fell at his words, and she blurted out, “Brother, why is it only 1%? Didn’t he still have a lot left
Lavern’s uncle just sat there with a grim face, clearly still trying to process what he’d just heard.
Marina, ever so helpful, decided to clear things up for her.
“Because the remaining 20% is mine. I only had Lavern hold it for me so he’d have some leverage in the company. Guess be forgot after all these years,” she said.
“Honestly, I’d forgotten about it too. But after the scene you made in Vrufield today, it suddenly hit me again,” she added.
Carrie’s face went ghostly pale, her teeth clenched as she glared at Marina, wishing she could tear her apart right then and
there.
Marina then slid the rest of the documents over to them.
The files were full of proof of everything Lavern had done wrong at the company over the years, even having someone on the side, and plotting to dump a huge pile of debt on Marina.
“You came to Zamora Group today just to make a scene and get the internet talking, didn’t you?” Marina said.
“If I leak all this online, what do you think will happen to you? With how fast things blow up these days, Uncle, your kid’s reputation at school will be trashed. And do you really think she’ll share the money from that 1 with you? She’s just waiting for her son to get out and try to bounce back.”

Carrie’s only got Lavern, so there’s no way she’d split that cash with anyone else.
All those Ross family members showed up today just hoping to get a piece of the pie
But now that there’s barely anything left, do you really think Carrie’s gonna share?
They all knew how tough and stingy Carrie could be. There was no way she’d share even a single cent.
Seeing everyone fall silent, Marina’s lips curled into a faint smile as she spoke in a calm, almost indifferent tone
“Lavern still owes the company millions. Even if they sell that 1%, none of that money will end up in her pocket,” she said.
As soon as Marina finished speaking, everyone’s faces fell.
Seeing the situation, Carrie just threw caution to the wind. “Marina, you and Mr. Zamora clearly schemed to take Lavern’s shares! Now that you’ve got a bigger backer, you think you can just dump Lavern? Keep dreaming!
You can refuse to pay me, but let’s see who blinks first. I heard that if a company’s reputation takes a hit, its stock and market value will tank. The money you’ll lose in a single day will be way more than what you owe me. Do you really think you can afford to drag this out?”
For a peasant woman like her to say something like that, there’s no way she figured this out herself. Someone must’ve pur those words in her mouth.
Marina let out a soft laugh, completely unfazed by Carrie’s threats.
“Did Yara teach you that?” she asked.
Carrie stayed silent.
Marina had a pretty good idea what part Yara was playing here. Her lips curled into a faint smile as she spoke casually.
“Yara really is cold–hearted. Lavern’s been funneling money out of Ross Group for years, bit by bit. The total’s over ten million, Marina said, her voice icy.
Carrie’s jaw clenched as she shot Marina a murderous glare, like she wanted to tear her apart on the spot.
“I don’t know, I don’t care! All I know is you destroyed my son!” Carrie spat.
Marina smirked.
“You really didn’t know, did you? All the money Lavern funneled out of Ross Group ended up with the Slay family He’d rather trust them than any of his own relatives,” she said.
Carrie frowned, awkwardly pulling her hand back from the table. Her bravado was clearly fading.
It was obvious Carrie knew about this, but the rest of the Ross family had no clue.
The Slav family only gave back I million. As for the rest, over 3 million, who knows where it had gone? Marina added.
As she spoke, Marina stood up and turned to Carrie, her voice cool and steady.
“Carrie, you should really talk some sense into Yara and get her to return the rest of the money. That way, maybe your son won’t get such a heavy sentence.
“If she doesn’t cough it up, he could be looking at ten years or more behind bars. Do you honestly think Yara’s going to wait

around for Lavern for a whole decade, especially with all that cash in her hande Don’t kid yourself, Carne, Marina cat
Carrie shot up from her seat, clearly realizing Yara hadn’t told her everything,
As she tried to walk past, Marina reached out and blocked her way.
Carrie’s face changed, and she frowned at Marina.
Marina shoved the documents into Carrie’s hands, her gesture firm. Her tone was no longer casual. It was cold and arting
“Carrie, study these carefully. There are a few things in here I haven’t even handed over to the court yet. I hope this is the first and last time I see you show up here. Otherwise… I’m afraid the only place these files will end up is in the judge’s hats and that’ll tack on a few more years to Lavern’s sentence,” she warned.
Carrie’s face drained of color, her eyes wide with disbelief as she stared at Marina.
Marina forced a faint smile and said softly, “It’s a long way back, so I won’t be seeing you out.”
“Take care on your way out,” she added.
Carrie took a deep breath, finally tearing her eyes away from the documents and staring at Marina in disbelief.
Marina stood a few steps away, cool as ever, that faint smile never leaving her lips, completely unfazed.
Her fingers clenched around the papers. “You better keep your word.”
Marina met her gaze, her voice soft, but there was no room for doubt in it.
“Me? I never go back on my word.”
Carrie stormed out of Zamora Group’s reception hall, her brows furrowed in frustration.
The rest of the Ross family scrambled to catch up, trailing after her without a word.
Marina stood off to the side, just quietly watching them leave.
Chloe handed the USB drive back to Marina, who took it with a quiet thank you.
“Thanks for handling this, Chloe,” Marina said.
Chloe smiled respectfully. She’d watched Marina handle everything from start to finish, and she couldn’t help but admire how calm and composed Marina was the whole time.
The things Carrie had said to her were absolutely filthy. Anyone else would’ve totally lost it.
If Marina had been a bit more sensitive, she probably would’ve been so rattled she wouldn’t even know how to respond
But Marina was cool as ice, acting like Carrie’s nasty words didn’t even register. She just stuck to her game plan, breaking them down one step at a time.
Honestly, even after all those years working with Daron, Chloe knew she’d never be able to keep her cool and handle these shameless types the way Marina just did.
