Chapter 127
The moment Eliana spotted Logan, she couldn’t help but frown deeply.

Now that they were divorced, Eliana wanted nothing more to do with him. Instinctively, she sidestepped to avoid him and kept walking.
Eliana thought, ‘Now that we were divorced, we were basically strangers. There was no need to even acknowledge each other if we crossed paths?
But just as she took a step forward, Logan grabbed her arm and pulled her back.
“What, already pretending you don’t know me just because we’re divorced?” Logan said, yanking her right in front of him. “Is that how it’s gonna be now?”
Eliana’s brows drew together, her expression hardened as she shot him a glare. “Let go, Logan.”
She tried to wrench her arm free, but Logan’s grip was unyielding, giving her no chance to break away.
Eliana clenched her jaw, her gaze locked on his hand gripping her. “Mr. Eliot, we’re nothing to each other now. If you keep this up, I’ll call the police.”
“Don’t blame me if things get ugly,” her voice was icy.
Logan let out a cold laugh at her words.
“Eliana, I really underestimated you. You married me, gave me a kid, and yet you still managed to get Nathan Turner so hung up on you,” Logan sneered, his eyes sweeping over her.
Logan said this, his gaze deep as it settled on her, sweeping over her from head to toe before he sneered and spoke, “She is indeed quite beautiful. I suppose it’s my fault for not knowing how to cherish her.”
As his words grew nastier, Eliana’s brows furrowed sharply, her eyes flashing with open disgust.
“Logan, for our child’s sake, I’m giving you one last break. Let go now and I’ll act as if none of this happened. But if you keep this up, I’ll call for help,” Eliana said coldly.
As Eliana spoke, she once again tried forcefully to shake off his hand.
This time, Logan finally released her.
Eliana didn’t stick around for even a second after he let go. She spun around and strode off in a hurry.
Once she was inside the women’s restroom, she finally glanced down at her hand, which was still red from his grip. Her eyes were full of irritation.
Logan felt like a total stranger to her now, as if she’d never really known him at all.
It was true that most people only showed their true colors when things got tough
In her previous life, Eliana had worked herself to the bone, handling everything at home so togan could focus on his career, without a worry. Even until she died, she never realized Logan had this side to him
Eliana had always thought his coldness and neglect were just because he didn’t like her. She figured he was still hung up on his first love, Isabella, the one he could never have, and that was why he treated her that way.

If that was really the case, she’d just chalk it up to marrying the wrong guy. At least he was true to his heart, and there was nothing wrong with that.
But now, seeing him just stand by while Isabella got sent to prison, and then turning around to throw snide remarks at her, Eliana finally saw she’d given him way too much credit.
At Lorgan’s core, he was just selfish, possessive, and controlling.
With that thought, Eliana hurriedly splashed cold water on her face.
At least in this life, Eliana had finally managed to get out of that marriage. If she’d kept getting tangled up with him, who knows how much worse things could’ve turned out.
She was already feeling a bit tipsy, and now with all these thoughts swirling in her head, her headache only got worse.
She leaned on the sink, took a deep breath, and lifted her gaze to the mirror in front of her.
But as soon as she looked up, she spotted a shadowy figure in the reflection. The shock jolted her awake, and the alcohol haze vanished almost completely.
*Eliana, what are you doing in here? You’ve been gone forever,” Irene called out from behind.
Only then did Eliana snap back, clutching her chest. “You just about scared me to death,” she said.
Irene shot her a surprised look. “Why do you look so freaked out? Am I really that scary?”
As she spoke, Irene leaned in close to the mirror, checking herself out. “No way, I look totally cute and irresistible. How could someone like me possibly scare you?”
Eliana looked at her and couldn’t help but laugh at her antics.
That laugh helped chase away some of the unease she’d been feeling.
“Yeah, yeah, you’re the cutest, okay?” Eliana said, finally snapping out of it and smiling back at her.
Irene gave her a serious look. “Seriously, what’s up with you just now?”
She continued, “Did you run into something? Is everything okay?”
Eliana nodded. ‘I just bumped into Logan. He was acting really dark and creepy, you didn’t see his eyes, which honestly freaked me out.
“Then I saw someone in the mirror and thought he was following me. It really spooked me, but thankfully it wasn’t him.”
Irene nodded. ‘Glad you realized it. I’ve always known he can’t stand losing.
“If you just kept going along with him, you might never see it, but the moment you push back, you’ll realize he’s petty as
hell
Eliana nodded eagerly “Totally, you hit the nail on the bead.
“So from now on, I’m just gonna steer clear of him. Who knows what he might do next?”
Irene nodded in agreement.
Logan might not actually do anything, but just thinking about what he could do made Irene uneasy

Irene thought, ‘Guys like him are the worst when they’re cornered, and they can’t stand seeing someone else thrive. If Logan saw Eliana doing great after the divorce, who knows what he’d end up doing.”
Irene was a lawyer, and she’d seen plenty of cases like this before. The more she thought about it, the more it honestly freaked her out.
She quickly grabbed Eliana’s arm and said seriously, “Honestly, we should just stay away from him and not poke the bear. Let’s just live our own lives and keep out of his way.”
Eliana nodded along.
Once they got back out front, the two of them picked up right where they left off, drinks in hand, like nothing ever happened.
Meanwhile, in the corner, Logan was completely fixated on Eliana. He just couldn’t look away.
As things had slowly built up to this point, Logan felt like a complete clown, ruthlessly played by Eliana and Nathan.
The more Logan thought about it, the more bitter he felt, and his eyes grew colder and colder.
Watching Eliana out there, acting like she couldn’t wait to celebrate being single, only made Logan even angrier.
Logan was hell–bent on making Eliana regret everything she’d done during this time.
