Chapter 186
Adrian Kael
“Exactly. I killed someone. The son of a congressman who was always tormenting me. So I eliminated him and waited for the police to catch me. I was arrested quickly, but my idiot father bribed the press and
the lawmen.”
I run my hand through my beard and stare at him seriously.
“I warned my father that if he didn’t let me be arrested, I would keep killing until the police could no longer be bribed. So he let me be detained, bought the warden’s loyalty, and had this cell made for
me… and for you.”
The shock on his face is so great that it almost amuses me.
“You are crazy. All this just to have me? Am I worth that much?” He Jaughs humorlessly, looking at the wall.
I grip his chin firmly, forcing him to face me.
“Yes, Magnus. You are worth more than any gold in this world, more than all the money. You are a god to me, my altar. I only want you to

love me. Even if my methods are cruel, everything is for your own
good. Do not provoke me, thinking that just because I love you, I
cannot be cruel. You know that.”
He looks at me in silence, and I lean in slowly. Our lips meet. At first,
it is just a soft touch, like a poisonous promise. I feel his heat against
me, the scent of his skin mixed with silk and iron. His mouth is tense
and resistant, but he does not pull away.
Surprised, I realize he reciprocates–a small gesture, almost
imperceptible, but real.
I seize the opening. I deepen the kiss slowly, sliding my tongue
against his, invading every space with care, like someone exploring
newly conquered territory.
My fingers bury themselves in his hair, pulling him a little closer to
- me. The metallic taste of the cuts mixes with the heat of his breath,
creating a magnificent flavor.
He breathes deeply against my mouth; his rigid body begins to soften,
not out of will, but from the shock of the moment. I kiss deeper,
alternating pressure and softness, exploring, dominating, and marking every second. I feel his heart beating fast against my chest,
the heat of his skin burning under my hands.

For an instant, the world is reduced to that contact. The cell
disappears, the past is erased, and there is only the muffled sound of
his breathing mixed with mine. The kiss is possessive and
intoxicating but also reverent, as if I were praying at the altar of my
own god.
When I finally pull my lips away, his eyes are dilated, a mix of
surprise, rage, and something he himself cannot name. I run my
thumb along the corner of his mouth, wiping away a drop of blood
mixed with saliva.
“I love you, Magnus.” My voice comes out low, loaded with venom and
emotion. “Even if it seems otherwise, I do. I could spend hours just
kissing you, but I’ll go slowly. Just the fact that you returned that kiss
makes me happy… very happy indeed.”
He brushes my touch away with a sharp movement and stares at me
coldly.
“And if I never fall in love with you? Will you keep me locked up
forever?”
I smile slowly, tasting every syllable before answering.
“Yes.”

I hold his cheeks between my hands and tilt my face until our lips are
just a few millimeters apart. His brown gaze is deep, so beautiful it
hurts.
“Even if you hate me, even if you never love me, you will be mine
forever.”
My voice hardens, icy, a steel wire disguised as affection.
“If you try to run, I’ll cut off your legs, your arms, or whatever it takes
to keep you by my side. As you said, I am crazy, and I know it. Do not
test this madness of mine, my love. Do not test my love for you,
because you might get hurt.”
I give him a quick peck on the lips before stepping away. I stand up
and walk to the cell’s shower, feeling his gaze fixed on my back. I take
off my uniform calmly, unbothered. In fact, I like that he’s watching
me, seeing the body that already belongs to him.
