Chapter 80
“What’s your stand on supernatural beings?”
“You mean like witches and vampires?” I asked between my bites. I
was hungry. I hadn’t really eaten all day thanks to Blake’s little
mystery date.
“Yeah, like vampires and werewolves” his voice was serious.
“Haven’t really thought too much about that. I know my mum use
to tell me that if I didn’t hide in that little room while her friends
were over, she would call the big bad wolf” I laughed. Blake just
stayed quiet.
“Well, this will sound very silly but there are legends that date back
hundreds of years that confirm the existence of certain creatures. For
example, werewolves. Legends have it that werewolves are
descendants of the moon. Thousands of years ago, when vampires
were created from dark magic, the Moon Goddess pitied humans as
they couldn’t defend themselves from those blood–sucking monsters.
So she summoned the spirits of dead wolves and they took over
human bodies. They became the survivors of the human race. They would transform into huge wolves and fight off the vampire and then turn back into humans so that the vampires couldn’t find and kill
them.”

I had stopped eating now. Blake’s story was interesting and I was
invested.
“As years went by, these werewolves mated and reproduced making
more and more of their kind. The stronger the werewolf was the
higher the ranking was. As the population grew, they all spread
around the world in packs and created their worlds. They all live
together protecting their kind as well as humankind. They have a
leader known as the Alpha and once that Alphas reign is over, his/her
firstborn takes the throne if they are worthy. As time has progressed,
they’ve managed to blend in very well with humans and now you can
barely tell them apart. The vampires are still out there, their numbers
have diminished due to them not being able to reproduce but there’s
still some out there”
Blake was watching my reaction. The light from the bonfire
bounced around in the air and I could feel its warmth on my skin. I
didn’t know what to say. Did he really believe these things?
“Blake, do you really believe this? Isn’t it a little silly? I’m not
saying that the legends are wrong, I’m just curious as to why you’d
believe in things that may not even exist”
“What if I told you that they do exist?”
“Really? So you’re saying werewolves exist? Okay well, then I’m
Meghan Fox.” I laughed and picked up my sandwich. Blake’s

expression didn’t change at all. He was serious.
“Just remember, don’t run Angel. My instincts are to chase you”
was all he said.
My heart picked up speed. What?!
From behind Blake, I heard footsteps. Dirty leaves crunches and
twigs broke. Out of the darkness, two bright orange eyes emerged. I
dropped my sandwich and stared as the pair of eyes turned into a big
brown wolf. It had its head bowed as it walked out from the darkness.
I felt the blood drain out of my face. My heart was racing and I
couldn’t breathe. A huge wolf was standing in front of me.
“Bla-….” I shifted my eyes to look at Blake but he was gone.
Panic set in as I leaned back in my chair holding on tightly. The
wolf sat on the ground and put its head over its paws. It was watching
me carefully. Its eyes never leaving me.
Suddenly from behind it, another wolf emerged. This one was black
as the night with grey eyes. It was bigger and taller than the brown
wolf sitting in front of me. As the black wolf fully emerged from the
dark, it stood next to the bonfire fire, its black fur shining against the
orange flames. The brown wolf whimpered and then got up, bowing

its head to me before walking back into the woods.
I looked between the black and brown wolf. My instincts were
telling me to scream for help. To pick up my phone and call for help
but I was numb and stuck to my spot. I felt nauseous and I could feel
my heart trying to escape my chest.
