Chapter 162
Nathan glanced down at Eliana, a playful grin lighting up his eyes.

“Why are you staring at me like that?” Nathan teased as he leaned in and wrapped her oversized coat more tightly around her. “Getting more and more into me, huh?”
‘Man, alcohol really does a number on your brain.‘ Eliana thought.
After Nathan said that, Eliana just kept staring at him, dazed and mesmerized, taking a long moment to snap out of it.
By the time Eliana came to her senses and tried to protest, Nathan’s eyes were already full of smug satisfaction.
Eliana knew that denying it now would only make her look more obvious, so she just let it slide.
‘Letting him feel good for a bit isn’t so bad,‘ she thought.
With that thought, Eliana couldn’t help but glance at Nathan again.
Honestly, she had never really dared to hope that she and Nathan could ever get back together. She just did not have it in her.
She knew she shouldn’t feel so self–conscious, but that was simply how people judged things.
In everyone’s eyes, she was just a woman who had been married, had a child, and ended up with a failed marriage.
Now her family business was on shaky ground. Even though she was confident the Westridge project would be a huge success, to most people, it was still up in the air.
So, in society’s eyes, they simply weren’t a match.
And honestly, she could not even break free from those standards everyone else believed in.
For a long time, she had felt she was not good enough for him. Even though Nathan had stayed single for ten years because of her, Eliana could not even allow herself to dream about a future together.
Even the woman she used to be, the one who got married, had a child, and threw herself fully into that life, did not deserve Nathan’s love or the way he had waited for her all those years.
But now, with Nathan repeatedly telling her he had truly been waiting for her, and even confessing that, selfishly, the moment he heard she was getting divorced, he had hoped she would hurry up and leave, Eliana felt a sense of relief wash
over her.
Nathan had said it himself. He was not some saint. He had his own selfishness, probably even more than Eliana had ever had
herself.
This time, he was ready to do whatever it took to keep her close.
Every time he openly admitted he wasn’t perfect. Eliana truly felt herself letting go.
‘Love is love. You only live once. Why let what other people think box you in she often thought.
As long as Nathan chose her and she chose Nathan, let the whole world doubt them. So what?
“What are you thinking about?” Nathan asked, his eyes growing more intense as he leaned in, fixing his gaze on hers.

Nathan couldn’t figure out why he always got so jealous whenever he was with Eliana.
Just like now, seeing her lost in thought, his first instinct was that she must be thinking about Logan again.

No matter if she was remembering the good or the bad, Nathan’s heart would twist with jealousy all the same.
Hearing his question, Eliana looked up at him, her expression serious. “I was just wondering… are we really meant for each other?”
Nathan was taken aback by her words, then frowned slightly. “Why would that even cross your mind?”
Worried that she was overthinking things, Nathan gently cupped her cheeks and spoke with complete sincerity. “Is that even a question? We are the perfect match, you hear me?”
“Eliana, you and I are absolutely made for each other. Remember that, okay? Don’t ever let yourself doubt it again,” he said, his voice firm.
Seeing how serious Nathan was, Eliana couldn’t help but burst out laughing. Then she said sincerely, “Alright, Nathan, we’re totally made for each other. Got it, I’ll keep that in mind.”
Nathan nodded, clearly pleased.
Eliana looked at him, her eyes sparkling with laughter.
She honestly never expected that the Nathan who ruled the world outside could be so boyish and playful around her.
Seeing him like this, Eliana could not help feeling a warm, fuzzy sensation blooming in her chest.
Just then, the woman Nathan had called for arrived, a staff member from the Turner Group.
“Mr. Turner, Bobby said you needed me?” she asked respectfully as she hurried over.
Nathan’s expression cooled slightly as he replied, “Yeah. I need you to help someone up. All the time you spend here today counts as overtime. Go to finance later, and they will pay you triple.”
The woman’s eyes lit up with excitement. She nodded several times and quickly went over to help the person up.
Eliana hurried forward to help as well, but the woman simply beamed and waved her off. “No worries. I am strong. I’ve got
Újs”
With that, she effortlessly helped Irene to her feet.
Watching her, Khana suddenly understood why Nathan had chosen her for the job.
After helping Irene into the car the woman hopped into the driver’s seat and offered ‘Mr Turner, I’ll drive this une. You and Ms. Lyons can take the car beland us just follow me!
Nathan nodded, then naturally reached out and took Eliana’s hand, leading her toward the other car
“I want to stay with frene Eliana said feeling a litle uneasy as she instinctively tried us pull her hand free from Nathan’s and step forward.
But as soon as she moved, Nathan gently pulled her back.
Just leave it to her irene can handle herself when she is drunk. She is much better at dealing with this than you fussing ver her, Nathan said.

“Besides, you’re already wasted. If you go with them, she’ll just end up taking care of you instead,” he added.
Hearing that, Eliana had to admit he had a point, so she followed him toward the other car.

On the drive back, Eliana’s head was spinning. She leaned back in her seat, stealing gentle glances at Nathan, her eyes soft and warm.
Nathan could feel Eliana’s gaze on him the entire time, even when he didn’t look her way.
At first, he didn’t pay it much attention, but before he realized it, a slow burn of longing began to smolder inside him.
After driving a bit further, Nathan just couldn’t help himself and pulled over to the side of the road.
Eliana finally noticed and asked, “Are we there yet?”
Nathan didn’t say anything. He just unbuckled his seatbelt.
Eliana unbuckled her seatbelt as well. The next second, Nathan moved in close, his hand sliding behind her head and pulling her in until she was pressed flush against him.
His lips crashed onto hers, heat flooding through her, and with the alcohol already making her dizzy, Eliana’s head spun so hard she could barely think straight.
Her breath hitched, her lips parting, but Nathan only deepened the kiss, pouring all his longing into it.
By the time he finally let her go, Eliana was left completely dazed, staring at him blankly, her mind wiped clean and unable to pull herself together for a long moment.
