Chapter 373
Marina dodged the question, giving a vague answer. “It’s not like getting into any real trouble. She only needs to keep a low profile for a bit,” she said.
Daron nodded slightly and didn’t press further. They then headed to the Campbell family estate together to visit Elnora.
When they arrived, Albert was already up. He was sitting on the living room couch, flipping through a magazine. He stood up to greet them as they walked in.
After that, Albert led them upstairs. Only then did Marina realize the door to the bedroom next to Elnora’s was open.
Albert’s clothes were hanging on the rack by the doorway. It was pretty clear he had been staying in a separate room for a while now.
Marina quickly looked away. With Elnora undergoing treatment during this period, it was understandable for them to stay separately.
Somehow, Marina couldn’t shake the feeling that her sister’s marriage to Albert wasn’t as harmonious as it appeared. She couldn’t help but worry about Elnora.
Albert caught Marina glancing over and gave the servant a look, signaling her to close the door. The servant hurried over and closed the door to Albert’s room.
Marina and Daron walked into Elnora’s room together. Elnora was letting the doctor check her temperature. When she saw Marina and Daron come in, her face rarely lit up with a faint smile.
Elnora turned to Daron and asked, “Did you rush over overnight?”
Daron nodded. “Yeah, I heard Marina was coming to see you, so I headed straight here as soon as I wrapped up work
Elnora said, “You really didn’t have to trouble yourself to make the trip just for me. So you’re heading back to Vrufield right away, not taking a break?”
Obviously, Daron wouldn’t be going to Yorelia with Marina. Yeah,” Daron replied. “I’ll drop Marina off at the airport, then head back to Vrufield.”
The Zamora Group had a lot going on lately, with all sorts of issues piling up. Matthew was causing a lot of drama behind the scenes, throwing all sorts of problems Daron’s way.
Elnora nodded, leaving Daron out of the conversation. She reached out, pulling Marina to her side, and leaned in to whisper a few caring reminders.
Seeing the scene, Albert turned to Daron and said, “Looks like the sisters finally get some rare time together. They probably have a lot to catch up on. Why don’t we give them some space and head downstairs for a chat?”
Daron nodded in agreement and followed Albert out of Elnora’s room. Elnora and Marina talked shop for a while, but since Marina was about to leave for Y Country, Elnora didn’t insist she stay longer.

As Marina was heading out, Elnora stopped her and said, “He actually cares about you, right? Otherwise, he wouldn’t have come all this way overnight to accompany you to see me.”
Marina nodded lightly and responded, “Yeah.” She was actually surprised that Daron came to the hotel last night.

Elnora smiled calmly and said. “There’s nothing he can do about Hayley’s and Zara’s existence. It’s hard for him to strike a balance. He owes Hayley a favor for raising him, so he has to repay her one way or another.
Didn’t you already know this when the two families decided on the marriage?”
Marina bit her lip and said softly, “Elnora, I know how to handle this. You really don’t have to worry about me.”
Elnora nodded. “If you really can’t handle it, then just live in a way that makes you happy. Try not to take those pills to control your mood too often; they’re not good for your health.”
Marina froze for a moment, then looked up at Elnora in surprise. Elnora managed a faint smile and said, ‘Make a move now; don’t be late.”
Marina nodded and hurried out of Elnora’s room. She had never thought Elnora would know about her taking those pills. She had even forgotten when she started the habit. Whenever she had difficulty sleeping, she would need to take the pills.
The doctor said she had emotional problems, but she had never lost it as Joyce did. It was just that late at night, her mind would go wild with all kinds of worries. It seemed she had been having this habit for a long time.
Ever since she married Daron, her anxiety had eased up a little, but with Hayley and Zara constantly stirring up drama, t still drove her up the wall.
Marina had forced herself to stay sober in facing this problem. As long as she kept her expectations low for this marriage. she realized Hayley and Zara’s little games didn’t bother her as much.
Things between her and Daron seemed to be in a stalemate now. It was only a question of who would crack first.
Marina came downstairs to find Daron and Albert chatting in the living room. Noticing her arrival, the two paused their
conversation.
Daron got up from the couch and said to Albert, “Sorry to bother you. We’re heading out now.”
Albert nodded and said, “Alright, I won’t keep you. Drop by again.” Daron nodded, and Albert walked them out of the estate.
When they got to the airport, Marina was heading out on an international flight, while Daron was on a domestic flight, so they were headed to different gates. They split up after the check–in.
After walking a bit, Daron stopped and looked back toward Marina’s direction. As if sensing his gaze, Marina turned around and caught Daron watching her from where he stood.
She arched an eyebrow slightly, flashed him a faint smile, and waved her hands to him. Seeing her gesture, Daron called out “I’ll be waiting for you at home.”
Marina nodded and said, “Alright.” She then headed for the boarding gate.
Daron watched her figure gradually fade into the distance. He let out a heavy sigh, then finally took out his phone and dialed Garret’s number.
“I’m not coming into the office these two days. Keep an eye on Matthew for me,” he said.
Garret let out a dramatic groan. “Didn’t you agree to my six–month vacation?”
Daron replied, “It’s just two days, man. I’ll be back soon. If anything comes up, drop me an email,”
Garret kept whining, but he didn’t actually refuse and said, “Alright, I got it. Just come back as soon as you can.”
Daron hung up straight and changed his flight. Marina had bought a business–class ticket, and all the business–class tickets

After Marina boarded and settled in, the seat beside her didn’t stay empty for long. Someone came and sat down almost
right away.
She pulled out her phone and opened up her chat window with Daron, wanting to text him that she had made it onto the plane. But then she thought to herself. He’s probably on his own flight already, so she decided not to send it after all.
Just as she was about to put her phone away, the man beside her suddenly spoke up. Thought you were gonna text me. Why didn’t you?” Daron teased.
Marina instantly recognized that familiar voice and snapped her head to the side. Daron was sitting right there next to her.
Seeing his handsome face so close, a flicker of excitement passed through her eyes, followed by an involuntary welling of
tears.
“Aren’t you supposed to be heading back to Vrufield?” she asked, her voice a little shaky.
She didn’t want to cry, but for some reason, it was like he had touched something soft in her heart
