“It is not the Omega’s decision to decide that,” the Alpha King speaks up. “Rogue or pack wolf, as wolfless vessel of a prestigious Wolf lineage, she can only continue to live outside of the packlands if her mate grants her that privilege.”
The Judge extends her hand, and the file is handed to her. Sophia can barely look up at the vampire who approached to retrieve it. I notice that he doesn’t try to protect her the way that he had Santiago. The vampires scoff at him, knowing exactly what Sophia is. None of them knows that she’s not a werewolf.
The binder Sophia handed over is much larger than the one he handed to the judge. She flips through some of the pages. pausing to scoff at some of the information she’s reading. Everyone once in a while stops completely and looks over at Sophie, who presses her lips together and awkwardly waves back at her. I sit back and try not to smile.
“She’s doing great,” my father whispers when Sophie glances over at us.
This is the first time I’ve seen Sophia this way. I’ve always known that she’s an omega, but she’s never acted like one in from of me. She’s always met my challenges head–on. It’s one of her more infuriating characteristics. I realize now that I might b the only person she can be herself with.
I sit back listening to what the wolves are saying and catch little bits of conversation. Some are talking about how much she changed since they last saw her. Others are asking why their alpha would want an omega like her. Santiago and his party are fairly quiet. The scent coming off them is neutral.
“You may go back to your team, Miss Helvig,” the Judge says when she shuts the binder.
“Thank you, your honor,” Sophia stands and stops in front of the Judge’s podium to bow to her.
I clear my throat when she sits back down. I hate it when she does that. She’s not supposed to bow to anyone anymore. Leas of all to a leech. She doesn’t glance back at me, but she reaches to scratch the back of her head with her middle finger. Ivar snorts beside me. There she is.
“This was a very interesting read,” the judge says and lets out a heavy breath. “I’d like for the others to have a copy of this.”
Romano’s lawyer shifts uncomfortably in his seat as we watch her hand the file to the vampire with the protective–shield affinity. Alexandria takes a deep breath and leans over, looking between Santiago and Sophia when the vampire disappears.
“You two seem to find yourselves in quite the predicament. I am going to save us all a lot of time here and tell you that you are not going to get your way, Alpha Romano. You have no grounds to reverse this rejection, nor does the werewolf council have any claim to this Omega.”
“She is of the wolf race,” the Alpha King scoffs. “As an alpha of my court, he has every claim to her.”
“You’re wrong. This girl isn’t a werewolf. You can feel the danger around her if you pay attention. She’s one of them,” she glances in my direction.
Santiago turns to look at me, and I smile at him. His eyes shoot to Sophia, who finally glances in his direction. His entire demeanor falls apart when I feel the rage she keeps carefully guarded as if she’s known what she is from the very start are proudly before she fucks it away.
“What did you do to her?” he growls and stands up pointing his finger at me accusitiply
*bit down,” Alexandria Rayne growls. The sound of it echoes all around us, blked with the command of the beast she become Santiago snaps his attention to her and obediently falls into the One more dushaur like that and I will desmiss you from my court.

“I apologize,” he says, lowering his gaze.
“Lady Sophia Helvig was not turned. She was born a Lycan. It’s a genetic trait passed on from her father. The only reason why she is an Omega class is that her mother was one of you, but the werewolf council has no jurisdiction when it comes the fate of this pup.
“Since this is the case. The extent of the crimes committed against Sophia Helvig falls under the jurisdiction of the Omeg Right Contracts within the Lycan Council. This case will be dealt with according to the Lycan Laws. If anyone has any objections, speak now.”
There’s a long pause, and not long after, the vampire returns with the copies of Sophia’s case. He even has them in the sai color binder she used. He takes the original back to Sophia’s table before presenting the binders to Santiago’s laywer and then the rest of the council members present.
It doesn’t take long before his lawyer is demanding to know what the fuck is going on with everything in that file. The two them slowly begin to argue amongst themselves. I feel the instant my council’s stand changes into something hostile. Eve Sophia wasn’t one of us, the way she was treated in that City is hard to swallow. Especially to someone as small and kind a Sophia. She’s been around our kind for a while, and the people have grown fond of her.
“We would like to offer a representative of our court to assist one of our biggest assets. Omegas of the Lycan race are the most protected of our kind. Particularly our females. The accused will have to answer to our laws for the crimes listed in t binder,” Jarl Jeremy Stephenson stands to address the entire court.
“All in favor?” Alexandria calls.
The ayes that follow bring a proud rage that makes me smile. This idiot has no one to stand behind him anymore. The Alpha King has been put in his place because of him, and the embarrassment he’s just caused has sealed his fate. Just as I si up a little straighter and hold my head up a little higher, the son of a bitch stands.
The Alpha King buttons his expensive, tailored jacket, and with a wave of his hand, those who came with him get up to leav with him. They wait for their king to step out of the row and then follow behind him. We haven’t been here a full twenty minutes, and Romano’s lawyers already look defeated. This is no longer a reversal appeal. It’s a trial, and the idiot set hims
- up.
Not only is this his biggest fumble, but he’s also buried himself because the representative brought out for cases like this is none other than my aunt, Second Princess Florence Clemintine Axel. The omega that wrote the Omega Rights Contract The very laws that put her mate on death row for fifteen years and executed him for attempting to go after her the momen he got out.
“It’s been a long time since we’ve had the pleasure of Florence’s presence,” my father says, clearing his throat,
“She’s going to give us all an earful,” Zaraphine sighs. “Especially for the current condition of our family.”
“Oh yeah,” my father chuckles. “I’ll have dinner prepared for tonight. If you all know what’s good for you, you better have a gift ready when she arrives. Do it now before she comes out. I believe her latest obsession is all things Hangyodon.”
“What the fuck is that?” Ivar asks. Sophia spins around, eyes bright, and a smile on her face.
“Just the cutest fishman in all of history. I love him. He’s so cute,” she beams. “I know exactly what I’m going to get her. Especially if she gets me out of this mess,” she pulls out her phone and immediately starts tapping away at it. I’ll send you guys links for stuff that can be delivered later tonight.”
“It’s just now occurred to me,” my father clears his throat.
“What’s that?” I ask, opening up the links she sent us
“There’s fucking two of them now,” he sighs. “Thanks a lot. Zara
