Chapter 120
He had lost a lot of weight. The guy I remembered was as big as a
sumo. I remember calling him that when he would come around to
take mum’s weekly earnings. He was mum’s pimp before he became a
small–town gangster.
He flicked his fingers, and one of the bouncers walked over and
ripped the duct tape off my face.
I whined in pain and pressed my lips together.
“Tell me, mi Amor, how have you been?” He leaned forward.
My heart was racing, and I was scared. If Novo wanted me here, he
had his reasons and I didn’t want to know what his motives were.
“Good than-.. thank you,” I whispered.
“Why the frown on that pretty face? I’m not going to hurt you, mi
amor. I just want information.” He flicked his fingers again, and
Carlos put an ashtray on the table.
He put his cigarette in the tray and folded his hand on the table.

Chapter 120
“Where is your mother? He said slowly.
Oh dear lord! This was about her?! When was she ever going to
stop messing with my life!
“What did she do?” I quickly asked.
Novo chuckled. “I’m glad you know she’s done something. She stole
$50,000 from me and ran away. Now I would like my money and my
prostitute back. I had sent Charlie to find either one of you and he
found you first. So mi amor, tell me where your mother is?”
Charlie? So his name wasn’t Greg, it was Charlie. He was Novo’s hired
hand.
“I don’t know. The last I saw her was a few weeks ago. She was
admitted to the local hospital. I cut off my ties with her, and I haven’t
seen her since,” I answered quickly.
“Cut your ties? Why?” He tilted his head to the side.
“She said she didn’t want me around anymore, and I happily
accepted her choice.”
“I see. Well, I’m sorry about that, mi amor. But I want my money.
So, where do I find your mother?” He pressed.

Chapter 120
“I really don’t know! If it’s the money you want, I can give it to
you.
I have savings. Just let me go to the bank, and I can arrange the
money,” I begged.
Novo let out a loud belly laugh “oh, sweetheart! It’s not just about
the money. It’s about principles. What example am I setting if I let
someone steal from me and get away? I’ll lose my reputation. Now we
can’t have that. Thank you for the generous offer. I’m sure you can
afford to pay me way more than 50.” He pulled something out of his
pocket and twirled it around in his fingers.
It was my ring. My engagement ring.
“Give that back!” I yelled. I was struggling in my seat. I wante
reach out and grab it.
“Well, well, I’ve hit a sore spot, haven’t I.” He chuckled and got up.
He walked over to my side and grabbed my face pulling it to face him.
“Until I find your mother and my money, you will stay here and
pay off the loss I’m making from your mother’s departure. She was
one of my best, and I’m sure I’ll make some good money from you” he
let me go and walked around.
Tears were sliding down my face. He couldn’t do this to me.

Chapter 120
“I already have someone willing to pay a lot of money to screw you
over and over again” he flicked his fingers again, and Jimmy walked
over to the door opening it.
A tall guy walked in, and once the door shut, he walked over and
sat on the chair in front of me. My eyes widened as I took in the man
sitting before me.
“Vince?” I whispered…
He smirked at me and leaned forward.
“I told you you’d come back to me begging,” he chuckled.
Oh lord, please no. No, no, no!
“Novo, please don’t do this. Please! I’ll give you any amount you
ask for. You obviously already know who my fiancé is. Would you
please let me call him? He will happily pay you whatever you want.
Just let me go, PLEASE!” I pleaded.
“Oh, mi amor. You really don’t understand. You see, why would I
want a one–off payment when I can make three or four times more
money by selling you every day. Did your mother not explain all this
to you?” He laughed.
