Chapter 154
My voice broke, panting, desperate. “Sir, please. Can I hear your news
first?”
A chuckle rumbled in his chest against my back, but he didn’t stop
stroking me. If anything, his grip tightened just a little, lazy but firm,
making my toes curl under the water.
“Fine. My news first.”
1
I could hear the smile in his voice even as I was losing mine.
“Fine. My news first.”
1
He was smug as hell, stroking me slow under the bubbles, and I was
too far gone to do anything but beg for mercy with my breathing.
“One of the scouts I invited last night called me this morning,” he
said, lips brushing my ear. “Said he was impressed–not just with me
training the team, but with you. Said he wanted more eyes on you,
and fast.”
His hand tightened just a little around me, making me whimper.

Chapter 154
“They’ve invited us to a luncheon tomorrow, in Houston. Big deal,
Noah. Press, boosters, scouts. The kind of exposure that gets names
remembered in the right rooms. You’ll meet the big ones–the ones
who actually pull strings, do a couple interviews, and by the end of
the day you’ll be on everyone’s radar. And then…” He nipped my ear,
making me shudder. “Maybe we celebrate with a nice hotel for the
night.”
Oh my God.
His words hit me harder than his hand did—and that was saying
something. My whole body trembled against him, cock throbbing in
his grip, head spinning with the thought of all he’d done for me.
I wanted to tell him about William as a bonus win. But how the fuck
was I supposed to ruin this?
“Thank you…” My voice broke. I couldn’t ruin this moment. Not when
he was this excited. Not when he was touching me like this.
So I did the only thing I could. I drowned in him.
Aiden kissed me deep, swallowing every bit of my restraint until my
head spun and my chest ached. When he pulled back, his thumb
brushed my lip.
Chapter 154
“What else did you need to tell me, baby boy?” he asked, voice soft,
dangerous, too damn knowing.
The truth caught in my throat. “Just—just that… I missed you.”
His eyes darkened, like he didn’t fully buy it, but I didn’t give him the
chance to ask again. I turned in the water, kissed him hard, and slid
down his chest. He let me guide him to sit on the edge of the tub, my
body trembling with guilt and gratitude as I wrapped my lips around
his cock. My head was already made up and I was ready to thank him.
And God, did I.
By the time we made it downstairs, steam still clinging to our skin,
the weight between us had shifted. Dinner was easy, light—sizzling
pans, the smell of garlic and olive oil, Aiden behind me pressing
kisses to my neck while I tried not to burn the chicken. We drank
wine, laughed, even danced in the kitchen to one of our playlists, his
hands on my hips guiding me in stupid circles.
It felt like celebration. Like nothing could touch us, which made the
guilt of having wanted to ditch him so much worse.
When he grabbed the last of the dishes, he paused. “Be right back.
Need to get my travel bag from the garage.”

Chapter 154
The second the door swung shut, my chest tightened. I lunged for my
phone on the counter, thumbs already flying.
Lexie, I can’t go tomorrow. He’s taking me to this day event off
town–really important, something he worked hard to get—and I
can’t say no. It’s in my contract too.
1
The dots popped up almost instantly.
But can’t you make it to the dinner after?
My gut twisted. I chewed my lip, staring at the screen, then typed
back fast:
He’s driving me back, but I don’t want to rush him or run the
second we get here. I’m sorry.
I shoved the phone down just as I heard the garage door, hoping I had
not just lost the opportunity of a lifetime.
