Chapter 122 

Damien’s pov 

I still couldn’t believe that Williams had planted someone amongst 

my men to end my life if I didn’t die during the battle. I was angry, so 

angry I didn’t respond to anybody’s greetings when I returned to the 

castle. I could see the look of relief on their faces but I wasn’t in the 

mood to know what was happening. 

As I walked towards the throne room Verestina rushed to my side 

with tears in her eyes and my anger escalated, did she think I was a 

fool? 

“I am so glad you made it back, I was scared o-” 

“Where is Williams?!” I asked, my voice was deathly still and she 

knew I wasn’t playing. I was still covered in blood from the battle so 

she knew not to mess with me, but Verestina was always Verestina, a 

very foolish vampire with no sense of retreat. 

“Where the hell is Williams, tell me or I’ll snap your neck,” I said, 

pinning her to the wall with my hand around her neck, my eyes had 

changed color and she grew scared.

“You can’t do that to me because I don’t know where he is, I have no 

idea where Williams is, h–he just left and I- don’t know where he is,” 

she said, I was angry and wanted to snap her neck but I had more 

questions to ask her. 

“Where is your father?” I asked and her eyes widened. 

“Answer me!” I said digging my fingers deeper into her neck as she 

tried to claw at my hand. 

“Let me go and I’ll tell you,” she said, I smiled because there was 

nothing like that this time. 

“It’s either you talk like this or die like this, you know how I am after 

a battle don’t you, don’t mess with me because either way you’re 

going to die,” I said and her eyes widened. 

“W–what did I do?” She asked feigning innocence and it irritated me. 

“You hurt what’s mine,” I said and her eyes grew even wider when she 

realized what I was talking about, I was so angry, I knew Freda had 

tried to run and she used the opportunity to take her but she hurt 

what was mine and that I was never going to forgive because I had 

warned her before and she still went ahead to try me. 

“Wait it’s not what you think I j-” I didn’t let her speak finish before I

snapped her neck in one hand move. I watched the life leave her eyes 

and I wondered why I hadn’t done it sooner. I had heard about all 

their little plans from that soldier I had killed, I should have killed 

her sooner, I thought to myself as I pushed her lifeless body onto the 

ground and walked away, I saw some maids rush to her body happily 

and I didn’t try to wonder just what had been going on in the castle 

when it was time for me to find out I knew just the right person to 

ask. 

As I got to the throne room as if the commotion happening in the 

castle hadn’t reached this side of the castle. Balen sat on a chair 

going through some scrolls like he had all the time in the world, upon 

hearing the sound of my boots on the ground his head came up from 

the scroll he was reading and he immediately got up to his feet. 

“Y–your H–highness, you’re b–back,” he said staring at me with 

disbelief, I walked towards him with a few guards behind me, I had no 

idea when they got here but Elara was with them. 

“Guess you are surprised to see me,” I said watching his eyes grow 

wider. 

“S–surprised noo, I am happy to see you, you wouldn’t believe what’s 

been happening in the kingdom lately, Williams your uncle tried to claim the throne, he threatened all of us that if we didn’t join him we would be thrown to the dungeon a-

“I’m guessing you joined him seeing as you are here and not in the 

dungeon, now tell me where is my uncle,” I said and I saw the same 

look on his face that was on Verestina’s, they didn’t know where he 

was. 

“I had no choice, he was going to kill my daughter, he even forced her 

to be his queen,” he said now on his knees, and I smiled. 

“Really, and it wasn’t that your bitch daughter clung to him the 

moment she heard of his plans to become king,” I said and he shook 

his head. 

“She wouldn’t, you know she loves you and w-”

“Your daughter is dead, seize him, when I have use for him I’ll let you 

know, I he tries to struggle kill him on the spot,” I said to the guards 

and walked away from the throne room, I could hear Balens angry 

voice cursing out at me, hoping I would never find Freda and that my 

days would be filled with sadness, I didn’t indulge him as I walked 

away with Elara by my side. 

“What now?” She asked me and I sighed, I needed to find Williams, 

but I had no idea where he was. 

“Get me, Christie,” I said to one of the guards who ran to get her, 

when she came there were tears in her eyes and I knew she was

grateful to see me. 

“Did you find her?” She asked and I shook my head and I saw her 

happiness leave her eyes for a brief second before it came back. 

“Well you’d find her then,” she said and I nodded. 

“I need to know where Williams is,” I said and she explained 

everything to me, what had been happening and all the things she’d 

been hearing and my father being killed, I didn’t even bother with 

that until I heard something about the human world. 

“He’s going to kidnap Freda from her mother’s, I don’t know how he 

found that out but I’m guessing it’s Verestina who told him” 

“Do you know where this mother’s house is?” I asked and she shook 

her head. 

“You should go to her father’s kingdom right away, he would know,” 

Elara said and I nodded, she was right, only he would know.
