Chapter 1170
“Yeah?” Nathan replied.
Ivy buried her face deeper into his chest and murmured softly, “I’m sorry.”
Even in her dream, she was apologizing to him.
She truly meant it.
Nathan’s lips curved faintly with helpless amusement.
“It’s okay,” he whispered.
Just those simple words.
She had lied to him and used him. She didn’t love him.
She only wanted him to give her a child.
All of it… He let it go.
Nathan leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead.
“Goodnight.”
He closed his eyes.

The next morning…
Warm sunlight filtered through layers of curtains, brushing across Ivy’s face. Her long lashes trembled as she slowly woke.
She had slept unusually well. Her whole body felt relaxed and heavy with comfort.
It was warm, almost like sleeping beside a heater.
Her hand moved lazily, landing on soft fabric. She slipped her fingers beneath Nathan’s pajama shirt, touching his chest without thinking, her hand drifting lower.
A large hand suddenly caught hers, and a familiar low voice sounded above her.
“Done yet?”
That voice…
Ivy’s eyes flew open.
Nathan’s handsome face filled her vision.
Her mind blanked for several seconds before really crashed in. She was in Nathan’s arms. And her hand was still inside his shirt, probing downward.
Her face instantly flushed bright red.
“I’m so sorry!”
Nathan had woken earlier.
More accurately, he had been woken up by her wandering hand.
He was a healthy adult man, and after recently crossing that line with her, his body reacted quickly. Being touched like that first

thing in the morning had snapped him fully awake.
He looked down at her sleepy, confused expression. She clearly hadn’t meant to do it. Her eyes were still hazy with sleep, like she hadn’t even figured out what was happening yet.
Nathan raised a brow. “Does saying sorry fix anything? If apologies solved everything, we wouldn’t need the police.”
Ivy blinked helplessly. “I really didn’t mean to touch you.”
“Well, I don’t accept your apology.”
She blinked. “Then what do you want?”
Nathan’s gaze darkened slightly. “You touched me first. Seems fair that I return the favor.”
Ivy froze, her thoughts short–circuiting.
Before she could react, Nathan rolled over, pinning her gently beneath him.
She quickly pressed both hands against his chest.
“Don’t! I’m pregnant. Be careful of the baby.”
Nathan supported himself on his arms, careful not to put any pressure on her stomach.
“I know,” he said quietly. “I know the baby’s there.”
“Then why…”
He lowered his head and kissed her.
His clean, cool scent surrounded her instantly, overwhelming her senses.
Last night, he hadn’t even been home when she fell asleep. Now, she had woken up in his arms, being kissed by him.
Her cheeks burned.
“Nathan…”
He brushed kisses along her neck and answered softly, “Yeah?”
“You shouldn’t… The doctor said no intimacy during the first three months.”
Nathan casually began unfastening the buttons of her sleepwear, his voice low and rough.
“The doctor said no sex. Didn’t say I couldn’t kiss my wife.”
Ivy bit her lip, flustered.
Just then, a knock sounded at the door.
