Freda’s pov
I was tired and drained, college was more stressful than I thought, it was nothing like highschool, no licita, nobody actually cared about anybody and it made it difficult to make friends, sometimes I stare
into the wall and wonder what Christie was doing, and how Agatha was treating her, sighing I crossed the road and as I walked towards my mother’s apartment, I had just finished my lectures, I had one later but I wasn’t interested in attending so I decided to go home and
rest.
“Mom!” I called out before pushing the door open only to stop in my
tracks, the house was trashed.
“What the..” I had already paid the rent guys, why would they trash the place up still I thought as I gently tried to avoid anything and everything that was scattered around.‘
“Mom!” I called again this time louder as I headed up to her room, she wasn’t there instead there were traces of blood on the wall and on the
sheets, I looked closely and saw claw marks too, my body froze as I thought of many possibilities, she was obviously not here and this was her room so definitely she had dragged with someone here.

I rushed outside panicking, I didn’t know what to do, there was no
way to reach my father or anybody, my heart was thumping loudly in
my chest, I was screwed, I had no idea who they could have been or if
they were from valthrun, how do I explain to the cops that vampires
or werewolves took my mother.
I searched the house frantically for something that might at least tell
me where she was or if she was okay, I went back to her room and
didn’t see anything, I was panicking more and I decided to go into my
own room and as I opened the door find a note on my bed written
with blood, I might be half breed but my Senses still worked, I shakily
picked it up and read it’s content.
The more I read the more I couldn’t stop shaking. William had sent
vampires to my house to take her, saying it was the only way to have
a conversation with me. What does that even mean, if that was the
case he would have taken me instead.
“Fuck” I muttered as I grabbed my jacket and walked outside, he had
said he put men outside that would take me to him If I was ready, I
was outside and didn’t know what to do but a car pulled up in front of
- me.
“Get in” the driver said, showing me his red eyes and I did.
Why would Damien uncle go through all this length to talk to me?
Was Damien alright? I thought of possible reasons, I was scared but

he had written in the letter that he wouldn’t hurt my mother if I did
as he asked and I was trying my best to be cooperative.
“Is my mother okay?” I asked the vampire driver but he didn’t regard me or my question and kept driving. After a while he stopped the car close to the woods and was silent. I was fidgeting but he didn’t care.
We stayed like that until the sun went out and he asked me to come
out.
“W–what?”
“Get out and walk” he said and I didn’t argue as I did what he said, we
came out in an open field, two horses sat there feeding, he got on one and made me sit on the other, which I did, with the rope in his hand
he directed my horse.
We rode for a while and got to what looked like a house. I got down
and walked towards the house. I didn’t wait for the vampire to direct
me or anything.
“Where is she?!” I yelled opening every door I came across, there were
men just watching, staring but I didn’t care as I continued yelling and
searching for her.
“You won’t find her that way” I heard Williams‘ voice and I turned
around immediately to see him standing there with a smile on his

face.
“What did you do to her?” I asked, trying to hide the anger in my
voice. I needed to understand what this was about and blowing up
wasn’t going to do me any not with the number of people that were
here.
“I am pretty sure my note said to be cooperative
“I am very sure If I wasn’t I wouldn’t be here” I said sounding like a
brat and it annoyed him, there was a flicker of irritation on his face.
“Your mother is not really useful to me, b-”
“So why take her?” I asked now, sounding pissed but still had to
maintain composure.
“Your character is not very demure for a supposed queen, but before
anything I’d like to thank you for making this easy for me, you see
you were my target all this while”
“What do you mean?” I asked, two men approached me, they just
stood at each of my sides not saying anything. I was scared now and
he could tell because he had a smile on his face.
“You’re very useful to me, I could just snap a finger and your mother’s

gone, well that all depends on how you behave” he said.
“I would behave well
“Oh you would trust me he said chuckling, I wanted to ask more, to
say more but I needed to know how my mother was.
“C–can I see my mother?” I asked and he smiled.
“Sure you can, how about you stay with her for a while until the main
star of the show arrive” he said and I tried to ponder on what he said,
what did he mean by that I asked myself as I followed the two men
leading me to a room, they opened the door and I rushed towards my
unconscious mother who was on the floor.
“What did you do to her?” I asked, screaming.
“Let’s say she wasn’t as complying as we hoped she would be,”
Williams said before locking the door to the room, leaving just I and
my mother alone.
