Chapter 126
Damien’s pov.
It had been hours since I had been sitting under the shed in the
human world. Scorching, burning sun, different and unfit for my skin.
I would burn to death if I stayed longer.
When I got the news of Freda missing I had been devastated, but now
I felt closer to finding her now that there was a clue to where she
was.
Freda’s Father, Alpha Winston, and his men had been the ones roaming the human world trying to find Freda. I heard she was staying with her mother and going to human school.
There was sadness in my heart and I would never understand why she still left me. She left me and left her family, it was weird as nobody
had a clue where she was.
The door to the shed opened and Freda’s father came in, I rose to my
feet and walked up to him.
“What did you find, tell me? Did you find the mother, did she tell you where Freda was?” I asked all these questions and he just kept silent.

I folded my fist and was about to hit him when he handed me a white
sheet, that had a small smudge of blood on it.
My heart sank, it wasn’t Freda’s… because I inferred the smell of her
blood, this was different but it smelled faintly like Freda so I grabbed
it without hesitation and opened it, what I saw in it made my heart
sink even further.
“That bloody bastard, I should have known he was up to no good
when he came to the palace”
My eyes shot red, and even the hair on my body rose. I was filled with
hatred as well as betrayal. The thought of my Uncle doing something
like this was painful. I trusted him, I loved him, I made him my right-
hand man, I left him in charge of my kingdom while I was away.
“Now is not the time to think about what your uncle has done, Freda’s
life as well as her mother’s is in danger, I am sure she has also gone to
try to rescue her mother and it is why she is not here, we have to find
them soon and fast” Winston said and I nodded.
“W–we can’t leave yet, the sun is still out,t,” I said, frowning.
“Well, I am going, with or without your help I am going to save my
daughter and her mother!” Winston said almost yelling at me and I
pushed him to the wall with his neck tightening. His men quickly

went into offensive mode and so did my men. The captain of my men
was on guard too, his eyes shining with anger, amongst all my men I
knew he was the only one who worried about Freda.
“Don’t you think for one minute that I am going to let you go out
there alone, she’s mine! She’s my responsibility-”
“Your responsibility? And you came to me to ask for her whereabouts,
what kind of king does not know the whereabouts of his–called
queen”
Winston said and I dug into his nape even harder.
“I would not have you talk to me like this, we both know you have something to do with this but I am willing to forget everything because of Freda or your head would be rolling off your neck. We vampires cannot go outside under the human sun, when it goes down we journey together is that understood Winston?!!“.
I asked. I was not joking about cutting his head off and he knew it so
he nodded and I let him go.
“Tell your men to stand down,” he let out, and with a simple stretch of my hand my men returned to order and so did he.
“You know you should learn to stop pushing people to the wall” He

and I snickered, he was trying to get my mind away from the situation
at hand and I appreciated it.
“Well you should learn to always defend yourself,” I said and he hit
me on the back.
“Well, your species is the one with the swiftness, it’s like we never see
you coming, and it always happens before we react”
Well he wasn’t lying, vampires were quick, and against an enemy we
were invisible.
“To think we’d be fighting another vampire, you guys are not going to
cope well,” I said in a mocking tone and he chuckled.
We talked like that for a while standing before we finally found a
place on the floor to sit. I looked around at all the hundreds of men in
one shed, some were sleeping, gossiping, and some were in deep
argument. Sighing, I rested my head on the wall.
“We need more men,” I heard Winston say as soon as I closed my eyes.
“No, my Uncle Williams wouldn’t have been able to gather so many
men in a short period, but then I know there are few who would
betray me from my circle so maybe we do need more men, but I am
not worried about that,” I said and Winston frowned.

“What then are you worried about?” he asked cautiously and I
frowned as well.
“He wants something, he would have gone for Freda instead of her
mother, he wrote that note so we would find it. My Uncle is very
smart, so all these little things were part of his plan, he’s definitely
up to something and I’m worried about that, but whatever it is, I am
not letting him live to achieve it” I said fisting my palm.
I was filled with fage, the blood pumping in me from the Kyraxx
battle still needed more blood to calm it. I would make an example
out of Williams, he should have never tried to touch what was mine,
my father didn’t touch her but he tried to and it cost Steven’s life as
well as his.
“You are going to be killing another family member you know”
“All worth it” I said and from the corner of my eye I noticed a smile,
but that wasn’t the only thing I noticed as well, the sun had gone
down.
It was show time.
