Chapter 264
He rests his chin on my hair, squeezing me against his chest.
“Sure, no problem.” He leans down and kisses my forehead delicately.
He takes my hand, and we head out of the mansion. We get into the
car, and he starts the engine. The gate opens, and the road ahead
looks more beautiful than ever.
I rest my hand on his thigh, feeling the fabric of his pants and the
firmness of the muscle beneath my fingers, while I watch the street
through the window.
“What do you want for lunch today, love? Any preference?” I ask,
turning my face toward him.
It’s impossible not to smile; Magnus looks absurdly sexy when he
drives.
“You always pick what I like,” he replies, casting me a brief, intense
look before turning back to the road. “You choose today. I want to eat
whatever you pick for me.”
I smile, satisfied.

“Alright, then it’ll be a surprise.”
The drive to my company is peaceful. We stay in silence, but it’s a
light silence, filled only by the soft music and each other’s presence.
When the car stops in front of the building, we get out together.
Magnus leans against the car and opens his arms, inviting me close. I
run and hug him tight, burying my face in his neck.
“Ah, I never want to leave this hug, my love.”
I brush my lips against his throat and leave a few kisses there,
drawing a soft laugh from him.
“Control yourself, Adrian. We’re in public.” His tone is light and
playful.
I let out a frustrated sigh, but he takes my chin and tilts my face up,
about to kiss me, when a throat–clearing interrupts the moment.
I look back and find the secretary my father placed in the company-
an insufferable guy.
“You are late, Mr. President,” he comments in a cold tone.
I feel my blood boil, a hot rage rising in my throat. Kissing Magnus is

a rite, a sacred moment, and that son of a bitch had the audacity to
interrupt it.
My fists clench, my teeth grind, and my gaze turns to a blade; the
urge to end him burns within me.
I’m going to kill him, I think, as clear as the beating of my heart.
Magnus, however, grips my chin firmly and forces me to look at him;
for a second, the fury vanishes.
“Have a good day, my love,” his voice comes out firm, loud enough for
the other man to hear. “I’ll be back to pick you up at lunchtime.”
Before I can respond, he pulls me in and kisses me. The kiss is firm,
possessive, and full of intent. Magnus wraps his arm around my waist,
bringing me even closer, devouring my mouth without shame and
without caring about the secretary’s uncomfortable stare.
I return the kiss with the same fervor, running my hands over the
back of his neck, making it clear that I am his. When we pull apart,
breathless, he seals the moment with a kiss on my forehead.
“See you soon, love.”
I sigh, already missing him.

Alright, my god. See you later. I love you.”
He smiles, gets into the car, and drives off, leaving the air heavy with
the scent of his cologne and the certainty that the day will take an
eternity to pass until I have him in my arms again.
“You shouldn’t be groping each other like that in the street;
journalists could take photos and your career could end.”
Without wasting a second, I lunged at him and gripped his throat
with one hand, shoving him unceremoniously against the building
wall, indifferent to the movement outside.
