Chapter 129
Freda’s POV
There was loud commotion happening outside and I had gotten
separated from my mother. I couldn’t understand but part of me
hoped it was a rescue, was it my father? Was it Damien? Was someone
here to save us? I asked myself all these questions as a flicker of hope
lit up my heart.
William who was with me also, looked around and called out for his
guards.
I tried to get up but my ankles were still bruised from William’s
manhandling, the commotion got louder, and I could hear voices,
none I could recognize, my heart dropped, what if it was just people
working for Williams?
‘What I would give to see my father right now‘ I muttered feeling
defeated. I couldn’t fight to save myself, I should have learned and
not focused more on escaping everything, the sadness kept tugging at
my heart killing the little hope I had.
“Don’t come closer” I heard Williams’s voice and it wasn’t all I heard. I
also heard Damien’s voice, but it wasn’t possible. I shook my head
until I was dragged by my hair and I was forced to realize that I was

not just hearing Damien’s voice but I was staring at him, he was here,
he had come to save me, my eyes watered as I tried to smile but
Williams grip on my head reminded me that I was not out of danger
yet.
“Let her go Williams‘ I heard his gruff voice say, now that I was
looking at him he looked rough like he had not slept a wink at all. My
heart couldn’t calm down, I was not bothered about William
roughening me up or holding a knife to my neck, or the blood that he
had nicked out of me, I was more worried about Damien, he haunt
glanced at me since I was pulled out and it did something to me. I
knew I had no right to feel like this but I was and I needed to explain
a lot to him.
“Just give up the throne and she’s all yours, Damien, it is as simple as
that. I love you too much and that is why I haven’t killed you yet-”
“As if you could even kill me in my sleep Williams, you are never
getting what you want, just give it a rest. I am still your king and I
command you to come accept your punishment with dignity”
Damien said, he was angry now and I could tell from the switch in his
eye color.
“Williams let her go”

I turned to the other side and noticed my father standing there.
“F–father” I muttered and Williams drugged the knife deeper into my
neck. I could feel blood trickle down my neck and it angered me that
they were here to save me and I couldn’t do anything to help the
situation either.
Right when I was busy chastising myself I remembered a trick Elara
had casually taught me, it was for situations exactly like this.
I recalled the steps in my head, took two breaths then pushed the
back of my head into his face making sure I got his nose then I turned
around holding his hand that was around my neck twisting the arms.
I heard him groan out in pain loudly as he never expected a move
from weak me. I was about to walk away from him when I felt a sharp
pain in my thighs, the fool had stabbed me.
I pressed down on the wound and kicked him with the other leg, just
when I turned around to see Damien run up next to me I felt my body
get very light, and soon everywhere was covered in darkness, the last
thing I felt was my body hit the ground.
I felt the wet cold cloth on my head before my eyes fluttered open as I

stared at the ceiling, it looked a bit different, was this the human
world still or was I back with Damien?
“She is awake” I heard someone say and I turned and saw Christie, my heart swelled when I saw the tears in her eyes, and she grabbed my hand tightly.
“Y–you’re awake? H–how are you? Any pain? Need anything? What is
it? Can you speak?”
“Relax Christie before all your questions start giving her actual pain”
I heard Kara say and I turned to look at her.
“Well don’t you look like hell,” I said and she smiled, she looked
scruffy and I felt sad that I had also put her through a lot of things.
“You don’t look any different from me,” she said walking towards my
bed with another damp cloth.
“Oh well,” I said, pausing a while before trying to sit up.
“You should not move so much,” Christie said sniffling this time. She
had been crying a lot. I held her hand and gave a light squeeze, I felt
fine and I needed her to know.
“I am okay Christie,” I said and she shook her head.

“You have been unconscious for three days Freda,” Kara said and I
frowned.
“From a stab wound?” I asked surprised and she shook her head.
“You had a series of injuries Freda, even internal ones, you weren’t
fine at all, your father and every other person thought you weren’t
going to make it,” she said and my mind went straight to one person.
“W–what of Damien?” I asked after forcing a ball of spit dow.. my
throat, and I noticed Kara and Christie stare at each other briefly.
“He’s fine, always asked after you, he was pretty shaken up. Lilly never
left your bedside too for some awkward reason. I was surprised,” Kara
said and I was less concerned about Lily being at my bedside but
more concerned about what she was saying about Damien.
“Asked after me? Y–you mean he hasn’t come to see me for once?
Where then did he spend the night cause last time I checked we
shared a room, come to think of it, this room looks nothing like our
room” I said genuinely confused.
