Chapter 184
“Oh no. Oh no. Oh no,” I muttered as I searched for the wound on the wolf’s body, but I couldn’t find anything.
It was… it was just like Kade. They healed quickly. What are the odds? They had the same eyes, and healed fast too. Was he…
Nah, that doesn’t make sense.
“Hey, where are you hurt?” I asked as my hand roamed his large body, digging into his fur to find the wound.
Even though that wasn’t possible, I still felt attracted to this wolf, and I didn’t want him to be hurt.
That fucking Raines….
I looked over at the bastard and he was lying motionless on the floor. I’m sure he wasn’t dead. He would be fine.
I turned back to the wolf, searching for where it was injured, because… because even though he’s healed, he still looked weak. and like he was on the verge of collapsing.
His breaths were coming in heavy huffs, his blinking slow.
“Tell me!” I screamed as I felt panic squeeze me. My hands roamed down to his legs, and that was when I noticed something unusual.
His knees looked funny. This must be why he was limping.
He probably-
All my thoughts paused and I looked back at the wolf slowly.
Mismatched eyes. Broken knees.
Broken knees…
I shook my head. “That’s-”
But Kade said he wasn’t human. Kade healed fast. Kade… Kade went into a rut and knotted.
I may have acted uninterested, but after the first time he knotted in me, I did my research. But I brushed off what I learnt because it wasn’t possible.
But right now…
“Kade…?”
The wolf gave me a look that could only be described as irritated, and right before my eyes-
Oh no, maybe I was imagining, because what the hell is going on?
In my imagination, I watched with my eyes wide and my heart racing like hell as the fur on the wolf disappeared, as its body reduced, and its four legs turned to two. And… and…
I screamed, falling back, my eyes so wide, I feared they might go dry.
“What the hell?!” I screamed, pointing at the… the… Fuck, maybe this was a dream. I’ve missed him so much and now I’m

having a really weird dream about him.
“I never knew you were dumb,” Kade said, lying on his side, naked, his voice weak. “Who would have thought?”
“Yes,” I nodded. “This is a dream. Kade would never call me dumb.”
He scoffed weakly, his eyes slowly closing. “We don’t have time for this, Belladonna. Raines will be awake anytime now. And we need to get help before that happens. Go search for him. I’m sure he has his phone.”
This might be a dream, but I still wanted to survive. My body kicked into survival mode and I pushed everything aside, jumping to my feet and moving to Raines. I searched him, avoiding looking at that large wound on his chest.
I found it and was about to call 911 when Kade said, “Gianna. Call her.”
“We have to get you to the hospital!” I shouted, the phone shaking in my hands. He could barely keep his eyes open.
“Gianna,” he insisted.
I didn’t bother to argue and just punched her number in. Good thing I memorized her number.
She picked immediately. “Hel-”
“Gianna, Kade’s seriously injured!” I shouted into the phone. “Send help! Please!”
“Belladonna? Where are you?”
“I don’t know, Gianna. We’re in the middle of nowhere.”
“Turn on the location of the phone. I’ll track it.”
I ended the call, turning the location on. I rushed back to Kade, and panic squeezed my heart.
I rushed to him, kneeling in front of him and grabbing his head, placing it on my lap. “Hey, hey! Don’t you dare close your eyes!”
He opened his eyes slowly, blinking like his eyelids weighed a ton.
“That’s it,” I muttered, stroking his hair. “Keep your eyes open. Why aren’t you healing? Heal yourself!”
“There’s only so much I can do with bullets inside me,” he said weakly.
“Okay. It’s okay, Gianna’s coming with help. You’ll be fine. And this is a dream, so you won’t die, right?”
He just scoffed, his eyes closing, but I slapped him, and his eyes opened.
“Stay awake, Kade,” I whispered, leaning down and resting my forehead on his. “Please. Please. I’m begging you. Stay awake.”
This fear was too real for this to be a dream. My heart was beating too fast for this to be a dream.
“Stay awake,” I muttered, kissing his forehead, his nose, his lips. “Por favor, mi amor. I’m begging”
He turned his head, blinking slowly, and he rubbed his head on my stomach, doing the same thing he did when he was a wolf.
“I will.” he whispered, searching for my hand and interlocking our fingers. “I’ll stay awake, my darling. For you.” He did the rubbing again. “For them.”

“Good. Don’t you want to know the result of your waiting? So you better stay awake.”
MODERATE
I fought the urge to cry, rocking back and forth, stroking his head, just whispering words to him. I didn’t even know what I was saying. I was just saying things to keep him awake.
What felt like an eternity passed before I heard the sounds of cars and people.
“Here!” I screamed at the top of my voice, holding onto Kade tightly. “We’re over here!”
They found us soon after that, and Raines was taken away while someone took Kade from me. I was hesitant to let him go, but I needed to so he would be treated.
I was about to follow him when Gianna stepped in front of me, blocking my path.
“You can’t,” she said, shaking her head.
‘What do you mean I can’t?” I asked, shouting. I stepped around her, but she blocked me too. “What is wrong with you. Gianna?! I just want to follow my husband to the hospital!”
‘He’s not going to the hospital,” she answered calmly.
“What the hell are you on about?!” I didn’t have time for this. Kade was being put into a car. I had to follow him.
‘He’s going to the States, Belladonna.”
My body went still. “What?”
‘He’s going back home.”
‘Yes, I heard you! Why?”
To get treated. He said the hospitals here can’t treat him, and back in the States, there are hospitals that operate on his… kind. And being treated by a hospital that doesn’t know what he is is a risk to him.”
Then why can’t I go with him to the States?” I asked weakly, looking at the car as the door was shut and they were getting ready to take him away.
“Because you’re needed at the company. Something important’s about to happen.”
“Kade is important.”
“I know, Bella. He’ll come back to you.”
“When?” I asked, my voice breaking.
“When he’s healed.”
Yes, and when will that be?
