Chapter 674
“I’ve told him“, Wynn said.
Linda asked, “So, Trev-”
Wynn then briefly recounted what had happened.
“…That’s it? Nothing else?” Linda asked in disbelief.
“That’s all.”
Linda froze. After a moment, she said, “D–Does that mean he doesn’t want to help us?”
Lilian and the others fell silent.
Because that was exactly what it meant–Trevor clearly had no intention of helping.
Linda couldn’t help but say, “If he won’t help, then we…”
They would have no choice but to raise money themselves.
And the only way to do that now was to sell off part of their properties for emergency funds. After all, their available cash had already been invested before the New Year. 2
Lilian’s expression had looked grim just moments ago, but now she had already composed herself. Calmly, she said, “It’s only temporary measure. There’s still a chance between Wynn and Trevor. Things could turn around.” 3
Linda bit her lip. “B–But…”
But Trevor seemed increasingly indifferent toward Wynn lately. On the contrary, they heard that he and Celeste were getting closer.
Not only had he unusually spent more time at the Rodriguez residence during the New Year, but Celeste had even gone back with him to their marital home and stayed the night.
Now, when Wynn personally went to him for help, he simply ignored it.
Was there really still a chance in a situation like this?
A mother knew her daughter best. Lilian naturally understood what Wynn was thinking.
She smiled and said, “Celeste is only one person. Do you think she can have both Trevor and Matthias? As long as we find a way to tie Celeste and Matthias together so that they can’t be separated, wouldn’t that solve everything?”
Previously, when Lilian had suggested that Wynn have a child with Trevor to win him back, she hadn’t said outright that if that couldn’t work, then pushing Celeste and Matthias together would achieve the same effect.
Linda’s face lit up. “That’s right! How did I not think of that?”
Then she turned to Lilian with a smile. “Aunt Lizzy, you’re so smart!”
Lilian lowered her gaze, lifting her teacup for a sip without saying anything.
Although Trevor had said he would recommend some capable talents, there was still no update from him even the next day.
Left with no choice, Wynn contacted him again. She sent a message to him at noon.
But Trevor only replied at night. “What kind of specialist do you need?”
+25 Bon
While Wynn couldn’t personally solve the technical bottlenecks faced by InnovaTech and Locket Tech, she was clear about wha kind of key specialists they needed. 1
She replied quickly.
After that, there was another long delay before Trevor responded. “Alright.”
Looking at his short reply, Wynn wanted to continue the conversation. But considering their current situation, she knew that the more frequently she contacted him, the more impatient he would become.
On the contrary, if she remained tactful and gave him space–before Celeste and Matthias’s relationship was firmly settled- Trevor might instead feel a sense of guilt toward her, which would make him more patient with her. 1
With that thought, she stopped herself from texting him further. Instead, she just sent one final polite message to thank him.
After learning that Trevor had agreed to recommend some specialists, Linda couldn’t help but say, “Wynn, you should take this chance to invite Trev over and have him personally interview them. That way, you’ll get to communicate more, right?”
Wynn said nothing
She knew that Trevor and Celeste had already had multiple opportunities last year to discuss professionally on matters related to their field. She just didn’t know how much Trevor knew about Celeste’s capabilities. (3)
But she did know that if it were Celeste, there was a real chance she could solve the issues faced by InnovaTech and Locket Tech
on her own.
They were all trained in AL
If Wynn couldn’t handle the company’s technical problems, that was one thing. But if even interviewing a few specialists required Trevor’s involvement, what would he think of her then? 5
