Chapter 33 Tracy’s Tactics are Getting Smarter

It couldn’t be Yvonne who sent Chandler to check on Grandma, could it?

Chandler replied, “Mm, my mother is sick and hospitalized. I came to see her.”

Jared nodded, “Perfect, let’s go up together then

Chandler followed them. At the elevator, he casually asked, “What is your relationship with Tracy?”

He’d just seen them warning Tracy like they were close family, but it was clear they also disliked her.

Chase sneered, “Just an irrelevant person. Don’t worry about her.”

An irrelevant person, huh? Then he didn’t need to have any scruples. Tracy was just an orphan. How could she have any connection to the Xander family?

He had thought Tracy might also be surnamed Xu and be a relative of the Xander family. Turns out she wasn’t!

After they left, Tracy could no longer maintain her facade. Her face was deathly pale.

She clutched her stomach, panting on the long bench, her brows tightly knitted, cold sweat beading all over her.

These idiots had managed to infuriate her into a flare-up. It seemed that if she wanted to live longer, she would have to walk a wide circle around them in the future.

Her hands trembling, she dug through her bag for a bottle of medicine. She poured out a pill, tilted her head back, and swallowed it dry.

The bitterness spread, just like her fate-unbearable suffering.

She was truly a failure as a person. She couldn’t hold onto family affection or love. Forcing herself to hold on would only hurt her more.

Since she couldn’t keep them, she would let them go. In this moment, Tracy felt utter despair.

Suddenly, a surprised male voice sounded behind her, “Oh, shouldn’t you be upstairs looking after Chandler’s mom? Why are you here?”

Tracy turned her head slightly, her face pale, enduring the pain. Standing behind her were two men, Chandler’s friends, Perry Holt and Lincoln Colt.

It was Lincoln who spoke, his tone polite but distant. Both of them had been present that night in the private room when people spoke ill of her.

Chandler’s heart had changed, and consequently his friends no longer respected her much. Although they maintained politeness on the surface, they secretly mocked her often.

She had overheard them gossiping behind her back more than once, but she endured it for Chandler’s sake.

In their eyes, it was as if she were the third party interfering with their relationship.

Seeing Tracy clutching her stomach, Perry frowned. Was this woman trying to win sympathy by feigning illness again?

He automatically ignored Tracy’s actions and said gently, “We heard Chandler’s mom is sick and hospitalized. Do you want to go up and see her with us?”

Tracy bit her pale lip and spoke weakly, “You two go up. I’m feeling a little unwell, so I won’t

go.”

Both men’s gazes fell on Tracy, then they exchanged a knowing look. They concluded that Tracy was ‘acting up’ again.

They just didn’t understand why, since Chandler was gone, she was still putting on a show. Was it for them?

After they left, Tracy felt slightly better and slowly walked away.

Lincoln and Perry hadn’t gone far. Watching Tracy’s retreating back, Lincoln curled his lips and sneered, “See? She leaves the moment we leave. What else could it be but an act? It’s been years, and Tracy’s tricks haven’t changed. She always uses these methods to gain Chandler’s sympathy. What a shame, Chandler saw through her little schemes long ago and has been disappointed in her for a while.”

They knew exactly what Tracy was up to.

They watched her throws her hysterical tantrums as if watching a clown show.

She looked truly pathetic. She knew she couldn’t change anything, yet she kept doing it. She was utterly stupid.

Perry didn’t offer an opinion, merely glancing at the small figure. He only heard Lincoln add, “If Chandler wasn’t so protective of Yvonne right now, afraid that Tracy would cause a scene, I wouldn’t bother speaking nicely to her. It’s exhausting having to pretend to respect her when we all despise her antics. I don’t know what Chandler is thinking, playing things fast and loose with Yvonne while refusing to finalize the divorce. It’s hard work keeping their secret!”

“Let’s go,” Perry didn’t comment. “He’ll sort out his own problems. It has nothing to do with. us. Don’t worry about it.”

With that, Perry entered the elevator first. Lincoln quickly followed suit.

Tracy left the hospital. She drank half a glass of warm water in the car. Only then did the pain subside slightly.

She rested her head on the steering wheel for a moment, then drove home. The countdown was at six days. Soon, she would be free.

Back home, Jennie saw Tracy’s pale face and walked over, concerned, “Madam Tracy, why does your face look so unwell? Are you sick?”

Tracy shook her head, “I’m fine. This is just an old problem. I just took pain medication.”

“Jennie, my stomach pain is acting up again. Could you make me some oats for lunch?”

“Okay,” Jennie nodded. Seeing Tracy trying to endure the pain, she asked worriedly, “Madam, your frequent stomach pain isn’t normal. Why don’t you go to the hospital for a checkup another day and see if it’s something serious?”

Tracy’s stomach pain had become more frequent recently. At first, she didn’t pay much attention, thinking Tracy simply had a poor appetite.

But now, seeing her in such pain, it definitely wasn’t a simple stomachache. It might be more

severe.

Tracy forced a faint smile, “I’ve checked with the hospital. It’s just a common stomach. condition; it’s nothing. I just need to watch my diet, and it will be fine.”

Even Jennie could see that her face was wrong during a flare-up, yet when she was in pain, Chandler claimed she was pretending. It showed how completely he ignored her, his wife.

Jennie wanted to say more, but Tracy had already gone upstairs. Watching Tracy’s increasingly frail figure disappear up the stairs, Jennie couldn’t help but feel concerned. She

decided to call Chandler.

The call took a long time to answer, and his voice was full of impatience, “What is it?”

Jennie glanced at the spot where Tracy had vanished up the stairs, “Sir, Madam Tracy is sick. She looks quite serious. Do you have time now? Could you come home and take her to the hospital?”

Lincoln had just told her that Tracy was faking her illness downstairs. Now, Jennie was calling him to say she was genuinely sick.

Tracy’s tactics were truly getting more sophisticated. If he hadn’t seen through her games. long ago, he would have been thoroughly fooled by her..

Just then, Yvonne walked over, “Chandler, I heard your mom is sick. How is she doing?”

Jennie froze for a few seconds. Then, Chandler’s voice quickly came over the line, “No time.”

The phone was hung up. Jennie stood frozen for a long time. Watching the phone screen go dark, she finally processed what had happened.

She used to hear Tracy complain that her husband had a mistress outside and thought it was absurd, advising Tracy many times not to overthink things.

But now, hearing that woman’s overly intimate voice on the phone, she felt that maybe many of Tracy’s claims were based on some truth.
