Yvonne curiously leaned closer, “What happened? Is it about Chandler?”
Hailey’s heart seized up. She quickly put the phone away, saying awkwardly, “No, it’s not. It was a rich lady who asked me out for coffee the other day, and I agreed at the time.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Hailey’s eyes darted away, but she forced herself to remain composed, “All I know is that you tricked me, saying you wanted to buy a gift for Chandler, which is why I gave you thirty million. I have the receipts here. Chandler never received your gift. I have the proof.”

Luckily, Tracy had prepared for this. Knowing Hailey would be reluctant to part with the money, Tracy had signed more than one copy of the contract just in case.
Hailey took the contract. It was identical to the one they had signed, and most importantly, it bore her signature at the bottom.
The reality check hit Hailey fast and hard. She felt a wave of dizziness, and her face burned with humiliation.
After only a quick glance, Hailey instinctively wanted to tear up the contract, but Tracy reminded her just in time, “Go ahead and tear it up. I have plenty more copies. I can play this game with you all day.”
Thank goodness she had made backups, or she really wouldn’t be able to withstand Hailey’s attempts to sabotage her. If she hadn’t been careful, she’d have nowhere to cry.
“Tracy, you kept a backup plan! And now you’ve learned to threaten me!” Hailey stopped her hand from tearing the contract, angrily shouting in frustration.
“Something like that!” Tracy curved her lips into a smile, “Now listen to this recording. See if it can prove my innocence in court.”
Tracy took out her phone and played a recording of Hailey promising Tracy the thirty million.
“Tracy, as long as you find a way to get Chandler to sign the divorce papers, I will immediately transfer thirty million to you as compensation.”
