Linsey glanced at Tracy. She’s so young. Linsey internally questioned Tracy’s professional capability.

The people their company hired usually held at least a Master’s degree.

Since Tracy is so young, she must be a student currently pursuing her Master’s, right?

The rest of the group also saw Tracy and instantly doubted her competence. However, since the boss brought her in, they had to keep their opinions to themselves.

They secretly prayed that this newcomer wouldn’t cause them any more trouble.

Sam left. Linsey led Tracy to Avery’s workstation and briefly outlined the main tasks Avery was responsible for.

Finally, Linsey asked curiously, “Ms. Xander, you’re so young. Are you a Master’s student right now?”

“No,” Tracy shook her head. “I worked in the finance department after graduating with my Bachelor’s and didn’t continue with graduate studies.”

The shock among the group intensified. Someone who hasn’t even finished a Master’s was hired by their boss as an exception.

Oh no, their silent prayers were instantly shattered. What good can a Bachelor’s degree holder do in their company? She’s probably here to create more problems for them.

Linsey was also completely stunned, “May I ask why you didn’t pursue graduate studies? Did you not get accepted, or were your family circumstances difficult?”

Judging by Tracy’s clothes, she doesn’t look like she couldn’t afford school. So, did she fail to get accepted?

To think she’s a poor student.

Then she’s going to be a headache for them. Linsey felt discouraged.

Great, they waited eagerly only to be saddled with dead weight!

Tracy picked up the files stacked on the desk and shook her head, “Neither. It was for personal reasons.”

Seeing that Tracy was unwilling to elaborate, Linsey didn’t press further. She pointed to her own desk and said, “My workstation is over there. If you have any questions, you can come ask me anytime.”

Though she said that, Linsey couldn’t help but complain internally. The boss hiring a Bachelor’s degree holder is bad enough, but she has a background in finance. Why didn’t he place Tracy in the finance department? Why does he have to inflict her upon them?

“Okay, thank you.” Tracy thanked her and lowered her head to begin working.

She worked very seriously. Linsey watched her, and seeing her pretend to understand everything, she couldn’t help but check on her a few times.

Two hours passed. Tracy still hadn’t come to ask her any questions. Is she pretending to know what she’s doing and rushing through the work?

Will Linsey have to redo everything later?

Thinking this, Linsey grew curious. She walked over and took a look. Fine, given her serious work ethic. I can’t say anything bad yet.

She’s a newcomer; she deserves a chance to make mistakes. I can just work a few extra hours. No big deal.

Tracy spent the entire morning reading through the stacked files. She also added detailed annotations and suggested revisions wherever she felt necessary.

The moment the afternoon shift started, Tracy Handed the files over to Linsey. Linsey was

shocked.

Linsey took the files, looking at Tracy in surprise, “This was several days’ worth of work for Avery. Did you finish it all in one morning?”

Is she just rushing through everything to fool them?

A few other members of the group were also stunned. A Bachelor’s degree holder with this much capability?

She didn’t spend the morning pretending to work, did she? Did she just want to pass the buck?

Thinking this, they looked at Tracy with even more contempt. If this woman hadn’t used backdoor connections, she probably couldn’t even have gotten through the company gates!

Linsey opened the files and was astonished to find that Tracy had not only completed all the tasks Avery had left behind.

She had also provided extremely detailed suggestions-things that none of them had even considered.

“Are you truly just a Bachelor’s graduate?” Linsey’s eyes were full of admiration.

These highly educated graduates are inferior to a Bachelor’s graduate. This is truly humbling.

“Mm,” Tracy nodded.

The others in the group, seeing Linsey’s admiring gaze, also gathered around curiously. When they saw Tracy’s results, they were dumbfounded.

Ouch, that hit close to home!

When Tracy first arrived, they had looked down on her, but now, their faces were burning.

They had worried Tracy would cause them trouble. Now, it looks like they are the ones lagging behind.

She isn’t a novice at all. She’s an expert, many times more capable than these high-achieving graduates.

Around three in the afternoon, Tracy received a transfer notification. Hailey had deposited the twenty million into her account.

A message quickly followed: “Tracy, the money has been sent. You had better destroy all that evidence. I have proof on hand, and if you dare play any tricks on me, I can sue you for blackmail in a matter of minutes.”

A moment later, Hailey sent another brief text: “Also, the cooling-off period is over. You had better leave immediately, and remember what you promised.”

Tracy sent an “OK” emoji pack in reply, with the caption: “No problem. As long as the is right, anything can be discussed.”

There was no further reply. Tracy put down her phone and returned to her work.

As the workday drew to a close, Linsey handed Tracy’s work over to Sam. His eyes were shining with undisguised admiration, “Mr. Zach Ms. Xander is exceptionally talented. She completed work that would have taken Avery several days, all in one morning. And she provided us with such detailed suggestions. She claims to only have a Bachelor’s degree and no prior experience in the AI field. But I believe her capabilities far exceed all of us highly educated graduates.”

Given what Tracy had said when she first arrived, it was understandable why they initially considered her a novice.

Who would have thought that the ‘novice’ they initially looked down on would use her competence to prove them all wrong?

Sam took the documents, looked them over briefly, and nodded with satisfaction, “This is only the beginning. You will understand later the difference between talent and effort.”

Linsey also felt Tracy had great talent. Otherwise, how could she have such unique insights into this field after graduating and not working in her specialty for three years?

Their team has truly struck gold.

At quitting time, Tracy grabbed her bag and headed to the underground parking lot.

Sam saw Tracy and walked toward her.

“Tracy, how was it? Work is going well?”

Tracy smiled, “Mm, it feels wonderful to be doing the work I love again. I feel energized.”

“That’s good,” Sam also looked happy. “Mr. Lorde is hosting a dinner party the day after tomorrow. Come with me. I want to introduce you to some people.”
