She had long ago completely stopped loving Chandler. Even the last lingering trace of affection had been personally erased by Chandler himself on the anniversary of her mother’s death.
So, they were now less than strangers. She naturally wouldn’t be polite to him any longer.
Chandler’s eyes narrowed, his gaze on Tracy carrying a dangerous aura.
This was Chandler’s tell when he was angry. They had known each other for so many years, and Tracy knew this well. Except this time, she wasn’t going to coax him.
Not just this time, but never again. Thinking of the days she had spent being a simp, she felt so stupid.
At that moment, Jared pushed open the door and walked in, his face dark. Tracy noticed the way he looked at Yvonne was different.
It seemed this brother of hers wasn’t completely stupid after all. He still had the ability to tell right from wrong.
He wasn’t completely blind.
Sean looked at Chandler, his eyes dark. “What? Does Mr. Gaunt have a problem with the person I’m with?”
His words were few, but the protective meaning was unmistakable. Tracy was with him, and anyone who had a problem with her would have to talk to him directly.
Chandler recognized this as well. He pressed his thin lips together and said no more.
The Johnson family was an entity they could no afford to offend. It wasn’t worth offending the Johnson family’s golden boy over an insignificant person.
Officer Jorge also understood the implication in Sean’s words. He made a “please” gesture to Quincy. “Please come with us.”
Though she was extremely reluctant, Quincy had to stand up. Just then, Yvonne whispered something in her ear. Quincy’s lips curled, and she walked out quickly.
Tracy couldn’t be bothered to care what games they were playing. She had to go with the police to give her statement. After she was done, she wanted to go home and rest.
Today had been exhausting. First the follow-up appointment, then taking care of her grandmother, and tonight, dealing with this crowd. It was draining.

However, today wasn’t a total loss. At least after her reminder, Jared’s attitude toward Yvonne seemed to have changed.
And she had finally been able to vent. So, despite her exhaustion, she was in a good mood.
The Xander Estate
After Quincy was taken away, everyone in the private room dispersed. Jared and the others returned to the Xander estate.
It was only then that they learned about their grandmother’s hospitalization. What Tracy said had been true.
Jared’s sharp eyes swept over Yvonne. He asked calmly, “Yvonne, didn’t you say Tracy was lying, that Grandmother wasn’t sick? Then what is this?”
He had been skeptical of Tracy’s words, but now the facts were undeniable. The sister they had always doted on the most turned out to be the deeply manipulative one. He couldn’t understand why she would do this.
Although their grandmother disliked her, that was no excuse for her to do something wrong.
Who knew how many other things Yvonne had hidden from them? The thought was terrifying.
Yvonne had already prepared her excuse. She blinked, her eyes reddening as she looked at Jared. “I never said Tracy was lying. I just said I hadn’t heard that Grandmother was sick. How was I supposed to know if Tracy was telling the truth? Chase, Mom, Dad, and I were all traveling. We just got back and went straight to the Garden Pavilion. We didn’t know anything either!”
She knew it was true and that they would find out as soon as they got back, so how could she have spoken in absolutes? She wasn’t stupid. She always left herself an out in everything she said and did. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to control the Xander family so completely.
At this, Chase took a sip of water, yawned, and backed Yvonne up. “Yeah, we didn’t know Grandma was sick. Don’t worry so much. Mom and Dad probably went to the hospital. We’re exhausted. Let’s just go see Grandma tomorrow.
They had been out all day. If Jared hadn’t said he’d finally gotten a meeting with the Johnson family’s golden boy and told them to hurry back, they probably wouldn’t have returned until tomorrow. Traveling was so exhausting.
Jared, however, held his hand out to Chase, his expression serious. “Give me your phone.” If Tracy was telling the truth, then Chase’s phone would definitely have a call log from Linda

Chase thought Jared wanted his phone to check his spending. He assumed Jared knew he had bought Yvonne gifts worth millions and wanted to scold him.
He quickly covered his pocket, looking at Jared in terror. “You don’t have to check! I’ll confess! I used your supplementary card to buy Yvonne a lot of things, but I didn’t look at the exact amount. I promise I’ll never be so insane with my spending again. Just let me off this one time!”
He didn’t have much money, but he would find a way to get Yvonne anything she liked. She was their sister, after all.
