Chapter 127 Busy at Midnight

Tracy slept until 5:30 PM. She reached for her phone under the pillow. When she saw the time, she was surprised. She had slept for so long; her body really was getting weaker.
She threw off the covers and got out of bed. Just then, her phone rang. It was Sean.
She pressed the answer button, and Sean’s low, tired voice came through. “What are you doing?”
Tracy pulled a pair of hotel slippers from the closet, her voice slightly hoarse. “I just woke up.”
Suddenly remembering something, she asked curiously, “What time is it in Murica right now?”
She remembered there was a time difference between Murica and home, but she wasn’t sure what it was. It’s not the middle of the night, is it?
The sound of rustling papers came through the line. A few seconds later, Sean’s weary voice replied, “Work was busy today. I didn’t realize until it was 1:30 AM.”
“Ah?” Tracy finished putting on her slippers and instinctively raised her voice. “It’s that late? Why are you still working? Don’t you need to rest?”
She probably didn’t even realize that her tone was laced with concern. Once she noticed it, her face felt hot. She felt like she used to say these exact things to Chandler.
Later, Chandler started complaining that she was annoying, like a mother hen, but she never got tired of fussing over him. Now, she realized she might not be able to stop this habit immediately. She was afraid Sean would find her bothersome.
Hearing the concern in Tracy’s voice, the fatigue on Sean’s brow eased considerably. “I’ll rest once I finish these files.”
Seeing that he wasn’t impatient, Tracy continued to instruct him, “Your cold just got better. Don’t drink coffee, and definitely don’t stay up late. Get some sleep as soon as you’re done.”
Sean glanced at the nearly empty cup of coffee on his desk and smiled. “Okay, I remember.”
Tracy hung up, poured herself a glass of water, and quickly drank it. Just then, there was a knock at the door.
She put the glass down and padded over in her slippers to open the door. But when she saw the Xander brothers standing there, she instinctively tried to close it.
Chase looked at Tracy in surprise and couldn’t help but peer inside. “Tracy, why are you in Mr. Zach’s room?”
Could they actually be sleeping together?
The thought made the disdain on his face grow even clearer. He truly couldn’t believe Tracy would debase herself like this just to get revenge on them. They had originally come to talk to Sam about business, but seeing Tracy with messy hair, wearing what looked like sleepwear, they were genuinely shocked.

Jared’s eyes turned cold. He pulled Tracy aside and harshly scolded her, “Tracy, you’re actually debasing yourself like this for something that doesn’t belong to you. Don’t you feel any shame?”
Tracy met Jared’s gaze without flinching. “Your eyes are dirty, so everything you see is dirty.”
It seemed no matter which room she stayed in, it was wrong. When she stayed next door, they said she deliberately followed Chandler to be closer to him. They might as well have said she was trying to climb
into his bed.
The main reason she switched was that she felt disgusted. But after switching, her two idiotic brothers were accusing her of sleeping with Sam.
She realized that no matter where she was, someone would find a reason to bother her. The key was that she hadn’t done anything, yet they insisted on pinning these accusations on her. It was ridiculous!
“Tracy!” Chase shouted through gritted teeth. “There has to be a limit to your troublemaking! Now you’re joking around with your own reputation! You are truly shameless!”
No sooner had the words left his mouth than Chase’s face stung from a slap. Tracy stared coldly at Chase. “Chase, did you soak your mouth in a cesspool? Your words are so foul, yet you still have the audacity to come out and contaminate others. Tsk, tsk. You people seem to enjoy spewing filth. You really need to go wash your mouths. You’re bad luck.”
When people look at others through prejudiced eyes, they will always find fault, no matter what. She saw no point in explaining. Even if she did, they wouldn’t believe her. Why bother?
Chase bit his lip, hatred flashing in his eyes, looking like he wanted to tear Tracy apart. “Tracy! You hit me again! What right do you have to hit me?”
Tracy was the one who was wrong, and he was just trying to teach her a lesson. How dare she hit him? It was infuriating. What right did she have?
Tracy crossed her arms and coldly scrutinized Chase. “So what if I hit you? Who do you think you are. freely insulting me? Who else should I hit but you? If your mouth is so filthy that you can’t speak properly, then don’t speak at all. No one will assume you’re mute.”
Her relationship with the Xander family was completely severed. She would no longer hold back. She would do whatever she felt was necessary.
