Chapter 103
Princess Elowen had never been so tired in her life.
The cold bench of the small detention room had been nothing like the silk cushions of her chamber in the Nightfall Zone. By the time the iron door finally opened and a bored–looking officer told them they were free to go, her head was aching and her stomach was growling so loudly that even her maid couldn’t pretend not to hear it.
They stepped out into the street, blinking under the late afternoon sun.
“I am never doing that again,” Elowen muttered, rubbing her temples. “If this is how this world treats royalty, then this world has no manners at all.”
Her maid, Lysa, looked even worse. Her hair was slightly messy, and her eyes were full of exhaustion. “Princess… I think this world doesn’t know what royalty is.”
Elowen sighed. “Yes. I noticed.”
They stood there for a moment, unsure what to do next.
Then Elowen held her stomach. “I’m hungry.”
Lysa’s stomach answered for her with a small, embarrassing sound.
“…Me too, Your Highness.”
Elowen looked around. The street was full of strange smells–some unpleasant, some incredibly tempting. From one direction came the scent of fried meat and spices that made her mouth water instantly.
“That,” she said, pointing. “We go there.‘
They followed the smell and soon found a small, busy street restaurant. People were sitting on plastic chairs, laughing, eating, talking loudly. Everything felt chaotic, but warm.
They sat down carefully, still drawing curious glances because of their clothes.
A waiter came over, looking half–confused, half–amused. “What would you like?”
Elowen stared at him. “…Food.”
The waiter blinked. “Yes, but what kind?”
Elowen looked at Lysa.
Lysa looked at Elowen.
“…The best,” Elowen said confidently.
The waiter laughed. “Alright. I’ll bring you something.”
When the dishes arrived, they both froze.
The plates were full of steaming food, covered in sauces and colors they had never seen before.
Elowen took a cautious bite.
Her eyes widened.
“…This is amazing.”
Lysa tried hers and almost cried. “Princess… it’s so good…”

They ate like they hadn’t eaten in days. In fact, they probably hadn’t.
When they finally leaned back in their chairs, full and satisfied, Elowen sighed. “This world may be rude… but at least the food is
decent.”
Lysa nodded vigorously. “Much better than the dry rations we brought.”
They stood up to leave.
And then the waiter smiled politely and said, “That’ll be two hundred and forty.”
Elowen blinked. “Two hundred and forty… what?”
“Currency,” the waiter said.
Elowen frowned. “Oh. Of course.”
She reached into her sleeve and took out a small pouch. From it, she pulled out three shining stones. They were clear, faintly glowing, and beautiful.
She placed them on the table. “This should be enough.”
The waiter stared at the stones.
The people nearby stared too.
The entire little restaurant went quiet.
“…Is this glass?” someone whispered.
Another person laughed. “They’re probably props.”
Elowen frowned. “These are spirit crystals. Each one is worth more than this entire building in my world.”
The waiter looked uncomfortable. “Miss… are you joking?”
“Of course not,” Elowen said proudly. “This is how we trade.”
Someone nearby snorted. “So you’re saying these rocks are money?”
“They are not rocks,” Elowen said coldly. “They are refined spirit crystals.”
Lysa nodded seriously.
People started gathering.
“Are they content creators?”
“Cosplayers?”
“Is this some kind of prank?”
“They’re trying to scam the restaurant, aren’t they?”
Elowen’s patience snapped. “How dare you! Do you know who I am?”
“A princess, right?” someone laughed. “Yeah, sure.”
A few people started getting rude.
“Just pay properly.”
“Don’t waste people’s time.”

“If you don’t have money, say so.”
Lysa clutched Elowen’s sleeve nervously. “Princess… I don’t think they understand.”
“I can see that,” Elowen said, her voice turning cold. “And I will not be humiliated like this.”
The crowd was getting louder.
Then a calm voice spoke from behind.
“That’s fine. I’ll pay for them.”
Everyone turned.
A man in casual clothes stepped forward and placed some cash on the table. “This should cover it.”
The waiter immediately relaxed. “Thank you, sir.”
The crowd quieted down, disappointed that the drama had ended.
The man turned and walked away as if nothing had happened.
Elowen stared at his back.
…He helped us.”
Lysa blinked. “Princess… should we thank him?”
Elowen straightened. “Of course.”
They hurried after him.
“Wait!” Elowen called out.
The man stopped and turned around, looking slightly surprised.
“Yes?”
“You paid for us,” Elowen said. “Thank you.”
He smiled faintly. “It’s nothing. You looked like you didn’t understand how things work here.”
“That is… accurate,” Lysa admitted.
The man looked at them again, from head to toe. “You two aren’t from around here, are you?”
“No,” Elowen said honestly. “We’re from very far away.”
He chuckled. “I can tell.”
They hesitated.
Then Elowen said, “We also… have nowhere to stay.”
Lysa nodded. “We don’t even know where we are, exactly.”
The man raised an eyebrow. “You don’t know where you are?”
Elowen shook her head. “We just arrived in this world.”
He looked at them for a long moment, clearly thinking they were strange.
“…You’re serious,” he said finally.

“Yes.”
He sighed. “Alright. Come with me. At least I can help you find a place for tonight.”
Elowen’s eyes lit up. “You’re very kind.”
He waved it off. “Just consider it good karma.”
They followed him down the street.
“My name is…” he paused, then said, “You can call me Leon.”
“I am Elowen,” she said. “And this is Lysa.”
He nodded. “Nice to meet you.”
They walked in silence for a bit.
“So,” Leon said, “what brings you two… here?”
Elowen looked ahead, her expression turning serious.
“I’m looking for someone.”
“Who?”
“A man named Adrian.”
“Don’t you have his address or phone number?” The guy asked.
“His address I don’t know his address” She answered.
“Tell me what’s phoo…” Lysa tried pronouncing phone.
