Chapter 452
They arrived at the Zamora mansion, and the driver pulled the car over.
Elnora was the first to step out.
As Marina leaned forward to get out, Daron reached over and took her hand.
Noticing this, Elnora walked away, leaving Daron and Marina alone in the car.
Marina turned and met Daron’s deep eyes, locked on her, something complicated flickering in his gaze.

Marina knew exactly what was on his mind, so before he could say a word, she said softly, I understand. I leave the key with you.”
Hearing that, Daron said nothing else. He just pulled Marina into his arms and said in a low and husky voice. “Thank you.”
Marina just nodded and said, “Honestly, if I were in your shoes, I’d probably struggle with this too.”
As she spoke, she gently pushed against Daron’s chest, putting a little distance between them.
“However, while I can understand your predicament, if they come looking for trouble with me, I won’t hold back just to spare your feelings. You can’t expect me to compromise myself for their sake,” Marina said, her voice firm.
Daron caught the resolve in her eyes and gave a solemn nod, promising her, “Trust me, I won’t make you carry the weight of my obligations.”
Marina’s lips curved in a faint smile at his reply.
“Let’s go inside then,” she said.
With that, Marina stepped out of the car and headed toward Elnora.
“Elnora, let’s go inside,” she said.
Marina stopped next to Elnora, following her gaze to the front door of the Zamora mansion.
A few men in black suits, each carrying a toolbox, walked out of the house.
They all wore white gloves and name tags on their chests, each bearing the gilded title “Appraiser”
Following behind the appraisers was an older lady.
The butler personally escorted her to the door.
These appraisers walked past Marina and Elnora, giving them a slight nod as a greeting.
Marina pressed her lips into a thin line.
The fact that these appraisers were present at the Zamora mansion suggested that Harris himself had extended the
invitation.
Elnora glanced at Marina and said softly, “Seems like you don’t need to stress about this anymore!
Marina replied quietly, “Honestly, I was never the one who needed to worry about this from the start.”

She’d never had any interest in the jewelry that Wilhelmina left behind.
Now that she’d handed the key over to Daron, she had even less to worry about.
As she spoke, Marina glanced over her shoulder.
Daron was walking toward them.
He naturally spotted the appraisers leaving the Zamora mansion, too.

Marina studied Daron’s face, but his expression gave nothing away. She turned back to Elnora and said. “Let’s go inside
Elnora nodded. “Okay.”
Once the guests had left, the butler walked over to Daron with a noticeably stern look and said, “Mr. Zamora, your randfather wants you to see him in the study as soon as you return. He is quite upset.”
Daron just frowned and gave a cold “okay” in reply.
Marina and Elnora didn’t bat an eye. They weren’t even curious about the butler’s message.
From the moment they saw the appraisers leaving the Zamora mansion, Marina and Elnora already knew the outcome.
There was no way Reese would ever give Elnora anything fake. So, the pink diamond they saw in the display case today was 10 doubt a fake.
But back when Wilhelmina was still alive, both the Zamora and Blanchard families were riding high.
Neither the Blanchard family nor the Zamora family would ever go for a fake.
so there was only one explanation. The pink diamond must’ve been switched.
And after Wilhelmina’s passing, all of her cherished collections had been kept by Hayley.
Bette really hit the nail on the head with one of her remarks today.
Hayley fainted from acute anxiety because she was too terrified that her deeds would be exposed.
She figured that collapsing and getting sent to the hospital would help her sweep everything under the rug
But she didn’t realize Harris was way too shrewd for that.
Marina and Elnora walked forward unhurriedly.
The butler took the lead, ushering Daron inside first.
Once Daron made his way toward the study, the butler paused, turning to Elnora and Marina with a polite, respectful smile
“Ms. Elnora Finley, Mr. Campbell is having a chat with Mr. Blanchard out back. Want me to have someone show you the way?” the butler offered.
Elnora nodded softly. “Okay, thank you.”
Once Elnora gave the nod, one of the Zamora family staff stepped up and led her out back.
After Elnora left, the butler came over to Marina, polite as ever, and said quietly, “Your husband will probably be talking with

his grandpa for a while. Mrs. Zamora, would you like to sit down and wait?”
Hearing that, Marina nodded gently. “Okay.”
She remained composed throughout, never once asking the butler about what the appraisers had found.
She sat quietly, showing zero curiosity about the whole thing.
Noticing this, the butler couldn’t help but ask, “Mrs. Zamora, is there nothing you wish to ask?”
Hearing this, Marina looked up at the butler and shook her head gently. “No.”
The butler had been ready to tell her everything, holding nothing back if she asked.

But her simple answer left him at a loss for words. The words just stuck in his throat. He felt like he had some earth- shattering news to share, but the person in front of him wasn’t the least bit curious.
He forced a polite, awkward smile, but his professionalism won out, and he kept the news to himself.
Since she didn’t ask, he didn’t feel right bringing it up himself.
Daron soon came out of Harris’s study.
Seeing this, the butler quickly headed over to the study door.
Not long after, Harris stepped out of the study as well.
Daron’s expression was grim, his face dark and tense, as if holding back his emotions.
Harris, on the other hand, looked much calmer than Daron.
As he stepped out, he told the butler flatly, “Have the meal served.”
The butler nodded. “Understood.”
In the dining room, Harris greeted Durif with his usual warmth.
He’d occasionally show some care for the younger folks, sharing a laugh with Albert as they chatted.
He looked perfectly at ease, as if nothing had happened.
Marina cast a sidelong glance at Daron, who was sitting beside her.
In contrast, Daron was unusually quiet after he came out of the study.
He only answered a few of Durif’s questions, kept his head down, and ate quietly. He didn’t say much unless someone talked to him directly.
Seeing Daron like this, Marina could easily guess what Harris must’ve said to him in the study.
‘Daron has always trusted Hayley, Marina thought. ‘He probably never thought Hayley would ever sell off his mom’s
cherished collection.
