Chapter 157
-Logan-
I turned away from Andrews and faced my club.
They fanned out in a loose semicircle around me and River, killing their engines. Talon swung his leg over his bike and walked toward me. His eyes went from my face, down to the blood still smeared on my hands, and bark up He dide’s a
“He took her.” My voice was scraped raw. The words were for everyone, thrown out into the circle like a challenge “Anatoly Black Mercedes sedan. Him and two of his goons. They took her from here. Alive,”
I forced the last word out. Turned it into a promise.
She would make it out of this alive. It wasn’t gonna go down any other way.
“Whose blood?” Talon muttered, looking down at my hands again.
“Friend of hers. He’s headed to the hospital.”
Talon’s eyes traveled over my shoulder toward the commotion.
“Ledger,” I barked, turning my head. “You bring her phone with you?”
He nodded, pulling it out of his cut. He tossed it to me. “Hacked it. Overrode the security. Should be wide open for you nee brother.”
I caught it. It felt like holding a piece of her, and it fucking wrecked me. The screen lit up at my touch and a text notifications popped up immediately.
A set of coordinates from Andrews.
I looked up from the screen as footsteps pounded behind me. Andrews was running toward us. She skidded to a szop. breathing hard, and her eyes locked onto the phone in my hand.
“Good, you got it,” she said. She pointed at the screen. “That’s the last ping from the earpiece. It’s been sitting in the same spot for the last fifteen minutes. No movement. Which means they either found it and ditched it, or..
“Or she’s there,” I finished for her.
“Twenty miles east,” Talon said. He was already pulling his phone out of his pocket, thumb moving across the screen. He put it to his ear.
“Viktor. Yeah. Listen.” He paused, listening to the voice on the other end. “Good. New coordinates. Twenty miles east of the city, across the river. Last known location of the package’s beacon. It may be a trap. Scout it Call me when boots are on the ground.”
He ended the call and slid the phone back in his pocket. “Viktor and a few of his men were waiting. They’re in his chuper now. They’ll get eyes on the location first.”
I couldn’t argue with the logic of it. Let Viktor scope it out from the air, see what we were walking inte
But every second that passed was a goddamn lifetime and a half.
I looked at the faces of my club, my brothers. They were ready to go to war for me. For my old lady I shoved Hairy, phon in my pocket and swung my leg over my bike.
