When Sam saw Tracy arrive at the company, he was a bit surprised. He wanted her to go back and rest, but he couldn’t overcome Tracy’s determination to push the project’s schedule forward.
By the time she returned home after a busy day, it was already past nine in the evening. She dragged her exhausted body onto the sofa.
She was too tired, too sleepy. She fell asleep just a short while after lying down.
She had just dozed off when the phone beside her rang. Tracy squinted, answering the call in a daze, “Hello?”
Sean’s magnetic voice came from the other end, “What’s wrong with your voice? Were you sleeping?”
Her voice was hoarse as she replied, “Mn, what’s up?”
Sean glanced at the closed door. “I brought you some dessert. Come out and get it.”
Tracy’s chaotic thoughts snapped back. She suddenly remembered the scene from last night when Sean had forcefully pulled her into his arms.
She felt dizzy. She subconsciously touched her somewhat hot forehead, then said vaguely. “No thanks. I’ve already gone to bed. You should just keep it for yourself.”
She didn’t want to be held by Sean again. Although she wasn’t repulsed by it, it didn’t mean she liked the feeling.
The experience wasn’t very good. Sean was too domineering, with no understanding of gentleness at all.
“Sleeping this early?” Sean noticed something was off with Tracy and asked her, “Why does your voice sound so strange? Are you running a fever again?”
“No,” Tracy denied instinctively, feeling her head grow even heavier.
Sean asked, somewhat impatiently. “Tracy, are you going to open the door yourself, or am I calling building management to open it?”
Tracy endured her headache, got up, and said toward the door, “Don’t call management. I can open the door myself.”
She fumbled her feet into her slippers and hurried over to open the door. The moment it opened, Sean’s tall figure slipped inside.

“Why aren’t the lights on?” Sean reached out with a long arm and turned on the wall lamp.
The small, palm–sized face before him was completely flushed. Sean touched her forehead. was burning hot.
He then frowned in displeasure. “Tracy, you’re running a fever. Don’t you even know it yourself? Is this how you take care of yourself?”
Tracy subconsciously touched her own forehead. Her body was truly getting weaker and weaker, getting fevers at the drop of a hat.
No wonder she had felt something was off with her whole body in the afternoon and had collapsed on the sofa to sleep as soon as she got home.
Sean picked Tracy up without a word. “I’m taking you to the hospital.”
Suddenly losing her center of gravity, Tracy was afraid of falling and instinctively wrapped he arms around Sean’s neck.
She struggled slightly. “It’s not that serious, we don’t need to go to the hospital. I’ll be fine afte taking some medicine at home.”
“Your situation is special. You can’t just take medicine randomly.” Sean suddenly moved close! to Tracy, warning in her ear, “If you resist again, I’ll throw you down.”
Tracy felt her neck itch. She instinctively flinched, and the words of refusal she had prepared got stuck in her throat.
She was already dizzy and had no energy. Sean carried her, and they quickly arrived at the underground parking garage.
As he started the car, Sean called Professor Martin. “Professor Martin, I’m troubling you again. I’m so sorry, the young lady has a high fever again. Are you able to come to the hospital right
now?”
When he received the call, Professor Martin was taking a walk with his wife. Hearing the anxiety in Sean’s voice, he agreed.
His wife looked up and asked him, “Who’s calling you to the hospital this late?”
Professor Martin patted the back of his wife’s hand. “It’s that kid from the Johnson family. He’s dating a girl who has cancer. She has a high fever now, so he asked me to go see what’s going
on.”
In truth, fevers were quite normal during anti–cancer treatment. But Sean doted on his girlfriend, so he had no choice but to make the trip.
