KROSS
EARLIER THAT DAY

Today has been miserable, just as every day has been. I can’t even remember the last time I had a good day and just relaxed. It was always one thing or another.
My mind kept going back to this morning, to everything that happened from seeing Sade almost naked–her smooth legs were imprinted in my head–to explaining lust and everything to her, and to her asking to kiss
- me.
It was tough turning her down when all I wanted to do was to cover her lips with mine and see what those plush, full lips tasted like.
Since today was unbearable, I video called my brothers.
“You took in a stranger?!” Axel gasped when I explained my situation.
“And not just any stranger but a stranger who was running away?” Kade added, looking unimpressed.
“Where’s Kross?” Axel asked dramatically. “Provide our brother right this instant.”
I sighed, pressing my temple. I called them because I needed relief, but they were only just adding to it.
“I admit that was a bit irrational,” I said. “Just… that sense of-”
I cut myself off, sighing even deeper.
“Responsibility?” Kade and Axel said at the same time, and I fought the urge to groan.
“You need to do something about that, Kross,” Kade advised.
“It’s your curse,” Axel added.
said nothing, just massaged my temple, then Kade asked the question I hoped they wouldn’t. “How’s Silas doing?”
I didn’t immediately answer, just stared blankly at the screen. “Worse. His time is limited.”
They both said nothing after that, Silas was a sore topic we didn’t like to touch, but, as Sade had said, he was still our father. And maybe that was why we avoided talking about him, but we wouldn’t be able to avoid his topic for long.
“Kade, Alessia’s being naughty again!” Belladonna’s voice came through from Kade’s side, breaking the still
silence.
“No, I’m not!” little Alessia answered back. She was only six, but she was as fierce as fierce could be. Kade and Belladonna were having a handful with that one.

A wide smile broke on Kade’s face, a smile we barely got to see.
“I’ve got to go,” he said and ended the call.
And just then, “Dada!”

“Oh, hey there, my other little sweetheart,” Axel cooed softly, picking one of his twins. He pointed at the screen, trying to direct Eliana’s eyes to me, but she was too focused on trying to bite his finger. “Say hi to
uncle.”
But Eliana was too focused on his finger to hear anything else.
“I’ve got a meeting,” I said, lying through my teeth.
Axel nodded. “Take care, big bro.”
The call ended with a beep, and I sat still for what felt like hours, staring at the blank screen of my laptop, but I saw nothing.
I called them to get my mind off things, but now the weight of thoughts on my mind has increased tenfold.
A wife. A complete family. Things my younger brothers have that I didn’t.
I was happy for them, really, but I was also jealous. Jealous of the freedom they had and their weightless shoulders. Jealous of how easy they had it. It has always been this way, ever since we were kids. They’ve always had it easier than I do.
I needed relief.
I picked up the office phone and called Cynthia.
“Sir?”
“A woman,” I said, my voice flat. “Anyone. I don’t care who they were. At my place when I close from work. Make sure they’re not seen.”
“Yes, sir.”
I couldn’t go to hotels because there are too many eyes, and tomorrow I’ll definitely be in the headlines. I couldn’t do it in my office because I was just the kind of person who would never do something so indecent in my workplace.
Sade will be asleep by the time I get home, and the woman will be gone before morning.

I could barely remember how I got home or when my pants came off. I had drunk alcohol, but only just a
little.
“You’re so big, sir,” the woman kneeling between my legs said in a low voice that was supposed to be seductive, but it did nothing for me. “And your dick has such a pretty color.”

I didn’t appreciate my dick being called pretty, but I said nothing and just let her do her thing. I’m sure she was good at what she does, else Cythnia wouldn’t have picked her.
She licked my crown softly, slurping on it before she sucked it into her mouth, taking me in inch by inch.
I groaned, fisting her hair as she worked her tongue on me.
I was right; she was good at this.
Her head moved as she sucked my dick, slurping and sucking, making wet noises with her mouth.
This was precisely the relief I needed.
I was so distracted by how she was using her tongue, so immersed in it that I didn’t notice Sade until I smelled her tears and heard her stiffen.
My body froze, going completely still, and all pleasure faded as I turned towards the door and saw Sade standing there, tears streaming down her face.
Fuck! Why wasn’t she asleep?!
“Leave,” I said to the woman still sucking my dick, unaware of what was happening, my eyes still fixed on Sade.
She removed my dick from her mouth with a pop sound, blinking up at me in confusion. “Sir?”
“I said leave,” I repeated, my voice colder.
She followed my line of sight, and when she saw Sade, she quickly jumped to her feet, packed her things, and left quietly.
I didn’t look away from Sade as I wore my pants, my chest tight.
Why? Why did I feel this need to explain myself? To clear away that hurt in her eyes? Why the fuck did I feel guilty?
“Sade-”
“Is this why you won’t touch me?” she asked in a small voice, her tears silently flowing.
I walked to her, closing the distance between us. “What?”
“You want me. You clearly do. I can sense it in your scent and in your gaze, but still you won’t touch me. You give excuses like the body and mind want different things, but that’s just an excuse, isn’t it?”
She looked… different; it felt like she was a different person. She looked hurt, but there was anger there, too.
“It’s not an excuse,” I said. “I meant what 1-‘
“No, you didn’t!” she yelled, her tears flowing harder. “You just said those things because I’m dirty! You won’t touch me because I’m dirty! Don’t lie to me!”
