Chapter 118
“They’re more than okay,” Helen assured me. “They’ve been busy.”
I relaxed slightly. “Busy how?”

“Creative busy of course,” she replied. “They have crafted several concepts for the next season. For different theme and concept, they’ve been creating ideas nonstop.”
I smiled faintly. “That sounds nice. And?” I prompted.
“Well they are waiting for you to select the ones you think are the best,” she said gently. “They don’t want to move forward without you.”
I sat up straighter. “I’m to check all of their designs?”
“Yes. Every single one.”
“That’s…” I exhaled. “That’s a lot of work.”
“Welcome to leadership.” She chuckled.
“I didn’t ask for that title.”
“Destiny designed your way into it,” she teased. “I’ll ask them to send them to you.”
“What are the main concepts?”
“Hold on,” I could hear paper rustling as she flipped through something on her end. “One is inspired by self rebirth and self discovery.” She said, “Soft flowing silhouettes.”
“That sounds nice,” I murmured.
“Exactly. Another is a darker version, flaunting and decorating broad shoulders and manly arms.”
“Hmmm.” I pictured it instantly.
“And the last one,” she said slowly, “is complicated.”
“Okay?”
“It plays with contrast,” Helen explained. “Light fabrics with deep stripes. 3d arts that looks sharp like it could cut the skin but soft edges, mostly for cosplays.
My fingers tightened around my phone. “That one sounds cool,” I said quietly.
“I thought so too,” Helen replied, “Still, they’ll send everything to you to choose.”
“Thank you,” I said.

Chapter 118
:
“You’re welcome baby, I love you and I’m proud of you.” She mumbled softly.
My eyes burned. “I love you too mum.”
“Sweet dreams love,” she muttered and hang up.
I turned on my back and stared at my ceiling, trying to find sleep.
I open my eyes as my phone buzzed again. It’s a message from Nolan.
Nolan: good night and sweet dreams?
I snorted and typed back.
Me: I wish
Nolan: something wrong? You can always talk to me.
Me: don’t worry your pretty head. Good night.
I dropped the phone on my bedside table and groaned, forcing my eyes close.

“Aria!”
I turned just in time to see Nora jogging toward me, bag slung over one shoulder, hair tied back messily.
“You’re back,” she said, slightly breathless. “I miss you.”
“I should be saying that,” I scoffed. “You disappeared. No messages or anything to know that you’re fine.”
“Family stuff,” she shrugged. “And I was sick too.”
“Shocking! Mermaid fever right?” I rolled my eyes
“You don’t believe me?” She bumped my shoulder lightly. “I did this yesterday because I felt better,”
“Okay, I miss you too.”
“You look tired.”
“Because I’m really tired.”
“You smell like pain and regret.”
“What the heck?” I frown, “you’re definitely still sick.”
“She needs some jamal dick in her coochie. Sup bestie.” Maya smacked my back, joining us,
“Welcome back po, can you smell Jamal’s and whereabout too?”

“Po? What’s that?”
They both stared at me like I had just grown an extra head.
“What?” I frown, “it’s just a harmless question.”
“You mean to tell me you don’t know Po, dragon warrior? Kung fu panda?”
“I’ve never seen it.”
“What?” Nora frowned, “well we can have a sleepover together and watch it.”
“Wow I’m so jealous,” Maya sighed, “I wish I could see it for the first time again too.”
“Yeah me too.”

“Alright with your kung fu panda whatever. Let’s just go to class, okay?” I scoffed, “I bet it’s overrated.” I mumbled.
“Sure.” They both replied.
By lunch, I found Maya at our usual table, already arguing with my brother about something silly.
“You’re wrong,” Asher insisted.
“I’m never wrong,” Maya shot back.
“Hey,” I said, sliding into the seat beside her.
Maya smiled. “Sup girl, I was damn too hungry to wait for you.”
“It’s fine.” I muttered, “where is Nora?”
“With her friends, she wishes to eat with them.”
“Ohh ok.” I shrugged and waved to a waiter to have my order.
Nolan eyed me. “You look like you lost a fight.”
“I did,” I said plainly.
“You had a fight?” Asher roared, “which nitwit chooses to pick on you?”
“Withdraw your fangs brother, no one is picking on me, at least not with my permission.”
“So you gave someone permission to bully you?” he snapped.
“It’s not bullying if it’s from my trainer, is it?”

He blinked. “Trainer?”

“Long story.” I turned to the waitress, “A turkey sandwich, chips and fruit cup. A bottle of water too.”
“You have a trainer? For what?” He furrowed his brows, “you’re kidding right?”
“Does this bruise say I’m kidding?” I raised my forearm higher so that he could see the bruise there.
“What?”
“But it’s fine, really. I need it.”
“Grandma got him… Is it a him or her.
“Hmmm,” I moaned, eating up my burger. “This hits right. Are you all really going to stare at me and not eat?”
“Any of you seen Jamal?” I asked suddenly.
Asher frowned. “What business do I have with that stalker of yours to see him?”
“A yes or no will save you more spit.” I rolled my eyes.”
“I haven’t seen him in days,” Nolan shrugged. “He must be busy.”
“Or not,” Maya said. “Chloe is his childhood friend after all.”
“Maybe he’s busy,” I deadpan. “He does not like Chloe and would not take bedside instead of mine.”
“They almost killed you but you took their side and had an argument with me.”
“But he was there at my welcome back party, he does not hate me right?”
Nolan shrugged. “He’ll show up.”
“I really hope he does,” I mumbled. I miss him.
Elias was already in the training room when I arrived, arms crossed and resting against the wall, expression unreadable when I entered the training hall.
“You’re late,” he muttered coldly.
“By three minutes,” I rolled my eyes. “Relax.”
He tossed me the gloves. “Put them on.”
“Put on a smile, you look more ugly with it and I dislike ugly things,” I muttered.
“Good,” he said. “Dislike sharpens focus. Straighten up.”
