When Benson brought Stella to see Elnora, Albert was in Elnora’s office, having a conversation with her.
Albert sat across from Elnora, legs casually crossed, his gaze resting on the documents Elnora had placed before him.
Elnora made a polite gesture, signaling for him to choose from the contracts.
Albert’s lips curled into a careless smile. He quickly looked away from the papers and said in a calm voice, “Ms. Finley, is this your way of giving me a slap and then handing me a candy?”
Elnora’s expression stayed perfectly neutral as she looked up to meet Albert’s gaze.
She said, “Removing Ms. Taylor from the Campbell Group product endorsement wasn’t a slap in the face. It was a decision made after considering her health.”
“But these contracts really are a sweet deal. I’m offering them for your sake, Albert, so Ms. Taylor won’t be treated unfairly because of me. It’s also to make it clear to everyone in the company that Ms. Taylor’s access to resources won’t be limited just because I’m here,” she explained.
Albert raised an eyebrow, “Is that the only reason?”
Elnora nodded. “At the moment, that’s all there is.”
Albert’s expression turned icy, a sarcastic smirk appearing on his face.
Elnora’s arrangements were flawless, leaving no room for complaint.
She even spelled it out for him. Since Stella was someone important to him, Elnora was willing to give her some extra consideration for his sake.
By doing this, Elnora was letting everyone in the company know she had zero interest in picking on Stella, and honestly, whatever went down between Stella and Albert in the past was none of her concern.
Albert pushed himself up from his chair, planted both hands on the desk, and leaned in, moving closer to Elnora.
Elnora didn’t budge, locking eyes with him, her gaze steady and unshaken.
“Mr. Campbell, any issues with what I’ve arranged? If you’ve got something to say, spit it out now. I don’t want any surprises blowing up in my face while I’m in charge,” she said.
Albert raised an eyebrow. “So Stella is a bomb to you?”
Elnora shook her head. “No, she’s your bomb. I don’t like anyone interfering with my work, so I’m laying it all out now. That way, Ms. Taylor won’t run to you, and you won’t run to me, messing up my job.”
She added, “We’ve got tons of entertainers, all kinds of business, and plenty of events. I really don’t have time to bend over backwards for just one person.”

As Elnora spoke, she glanced toward the door.
Benson had already brought Stella to the doorway of her office.
Stella was sitting in a wheelchair, being pushed by her assistant.
Her assistant looked indignant, clearly ready to argue with Elnora.

Benson, hand paused mid-knock, sheepishly dropped her gaze when Elnora looked over, clearly uneasy.
Benson said, “Ms. Finley, Ms. Taylor says she wants to talk to you.”
Elnora responded with a soft “mm,” glanced at Albert, then said, “Come in.”

Elnora picked up the document from the table and glanced at it.
Seeing her expressionless face, Albert asked, “What, is it a bit tricky?”
Elnora replied, still stone-faced, “It’s not tricky.”
“You sure know how to pick them, Albert,” she added.
The contract Albert picked out for Stella was with a top-tier fashion magazine.
With where Stella standing right now, there was no way she’d ever land a feature in that magazine.
This magazine was a big deal in the fashion world. Getting in was basically one’s VIP pass to the industry.
Once one was in, all kinds of fashion gigs would just start pouring in.
Albert definitely chose this contract to give Elnora a hard time on purpose.
But since Elnora dared to put these contracts out for Albert to choose, it showed she was sure she could make it happen.
Albert let out a mocking laugh. “Guess I’ll trouble you with this, Ms. Finley.”
Even though his words sounded polite, his attitude was anything but.

Mya wheeled Stella over to Albert’s side.
Albert pulled his hands back from the desk, gave Stella a sidelong glance, and said coolly, “From today on, Ms. Finley is in charge of everything at Starlight Entertainment. Make sure you follow her lead.”
Stella pressed her lips together, her face tense.
Albert turned and walked out.
Stella watched Albert leave, unable to look away.
Elnora asked calmly, “Ms. Taylor, is there something you wanted to discuss?”
Stella blinked, coming back to herself only when Elnora spoke.
Albert had just told her to follow Elnora’s lead, and all the excuses she’d rehearsed suddenly felt impossible to
say.
Seeing Stella still didn’t answer, Elnora spoke up again, her voice soft.
“Hmm?”
Her tone was flat, completely devoid of emotion..
Even so, everyone in the room could feel the invisible pressure in the air, especially Benson.
He was already regretting bringing Stella up here.
Mya, who had been going over her strategy for chatting with Elnora, suddenly lost her nerve for no reason.
She swallowed hard, about to speak, but Stella had already looked up at Elnora, her voice soli and gentle.
“Ms. Finley, my health is perfectly fine, thank you for your concern. I’ve been really looking forward to filming this endorsement, so I hope you’ll let me continue,” Stella said softly,
Elnora replied coolly, “Ms. Taylor, you’re still sitting in a wheelchair, and you’re telling me you have no health problems?”
Stella paused, looking awkward and a little embarrassed.
Seeing that, her assistant hurried to explain, “Ms. Finley, Stella was in a car accident just yesterday. She’s really not feeling well. She’s definitely not pretending.”
Elnora nodded calmly.

Hearing that, Mya’s face went stiff for a second, realizing she’d messed up. She wanted to fix it, but just opened her mouth and couldn’t figure out what to say.
Benson stood off to the side, feeling a wave of regret wash over him.
‘Why did I even bring Stella and her assistant up here? What was I thinking?’ he cursed himself.
‘Great, now I’m totally screwed,’ he groaned inwardly.
‘I’m definitely going to get blamed for this too,’ he thought, sinking into despair.
Stella bit her lip and closed her eyes for a moment to steady herself.
“Ms. Finley, I know Albert left you behind at the wedding yesterday because of me, and that caused some negative impact. I’m truly sorry for that, but…” she spoke softly.
Elnora had no intention of cutting Stella off.
She just watched Stella, letting her finish whatever she had to say without a word.
Stella paused halfway through, trailing off.
She hung her head, too scared to speak or even show any anger, like she’d been bullied so much she couldn’t even look up.
