As soon as Elnora finished speaking, the shareholders who had been siding with Brentley to criticize her fell completely silent.
Everyone in the room could tell that Elnora was implying there was something more than just business between Brentley and the Taylor family.

Brentley, trying to cover for Nelson now, with all the evidence stacked against him, really made people suspicious.
Seeing Elnora pin everything on him with just a few words, Brentley was furious. He slammed his hand on the table and said coldly, “Elnora, what the hell are you trying to say?”
Elnora looked Brentley straight in the eye, showing not a hint of fear. Her expression stayed calm, her gaze unwavering and intense.
“No need to get upset. I don’t mean anything by it. I just really admire the relationship between you and the Taylor family.”
Brentley’s expression was icy, his gaze heavy and sharp as he glared at Elnora.
Albert knocked on the table, his voice cold as ice. “Nelson brought this on himself. He screwed up, so he has to pay the price.
“Supernova Entertainment will never cover for anyone who tries to drag us down into ruin.”
“But Mr. Graham, your words just made me realize that if we want to avoid another disaster like what happened with Nelson, starting tomorrow, Supernova Entertainment will undergo a full internal review.
“I’ll hire professional auditors to oversee everything.”
Graham’s face darkened at those words.
The other shareholders’ expressions grew subtly tense.
Only those shareholders who had put in some money but held no real power in the company nodded in agreement.
No matter what the investigation uncovered, it would only benefit them.
After all, they had no clue just how much those rats lurking in the shadows had managed to pilfer away.
With those words, Albert made it crystal clear he was backing Elnora all the way.
Even though Graham was burning with resentment, he had to bite his tongue for now.
He just shot Elnora a vicious glare, his face stormy with anger, then tore his eyes away.

Graham came in today ready to steer the meeting and try to keep Supernova Entertainment from pressing charges against Nelson.
If Supernova Entertainment didn’t go after him, the Taylor family would still have room to play their cards.
But Elnora shot that plan down before Graham could even get the ball rolling.
After the meeting wrapped up, Graham was the first to leave the conference room, his face still dark with
anger.
As he passed by Elnora, he gave a chilly snort and muttered, “You never know when enough is enough. If you stop making enemies, you’ll always have a way out for yourself.”
“You’re not just shutting down someone else’s chances. You’re burning your own bridges.”
Elnora lifted her eyes to Brentley, her voice steady. “Thank you for the lesson, Mr. Graham.”
Brentley let out a cold snort and walked away without another word.
After Brentley left, Elnora grabbed the files from the table and headed out of the conference room.
Albert caught up to her and said in a low, steady voice, “From now on, you don’t have to worry about this. I’ll handle it.”
Elnora lifted her gaze to Albert, her tone cool. “Albert, are you planning to get Nelson off the hook?”
Albert furrowed his brows, denying it flatly. “No.”
Elnora looked at Albert for a moment, silent, then finally nodded. “Okay.”
Seeing that Elnora wasn’t insisting, Albert breathed a quiet sigh of relief.
He said, “Trust me, I won’t cover for anyone. With everything that’s happened, there’s no way we’re just going to let it go.”
Elnora nodded, her voice calm. “You’re right, Albert. Things are already this messy. Changing who’s in charge won’t make them back off.”
Albert’s brows knitted.

When Albert headed downstairs, he noticed Elnora’s car parked at the entrance.
The driver opened the door and gestured for him to get in.

Elnora shook her head. “No, she didn’t say.”
Seeing Elnora absorbed in her magazine, Albert decided to leave her be and kept quiet.
On the drive over, neither of them said much. The silence lingered between them.
They entered the Campbell family.
Elnora grabbed the gift she’d picked out for Reese and held it in her hand. Albert glanced over and couldn’t help but laugh.
“No wonder my mom likes you so much,” he teased. “It’s just dinner at home, and you still brought a gift.”
Elnora answered in a cool voice, “Some things are just proper.”
Albert chuckled, “Come on, we’re family. No need to be so polite.”
Elnora stayed silent and made her way inside the Campbell family.
Albert saw her go quiet, and his heart tightened.
‘Does her silence right now mean she never really thinks of us as family?’ he thought.
As soon as Elnora stepped inside, Reese greeted her with a warm smile and started chatting with her.
She took Elnora by the hand and led her straight to the dining room, not even sparing Albert a glance. Once they sat down, Albert might as well have been invisible.
Reese didn’t even spare him a single glance.
As the servants brought out the dishes, Reese and Elnora were laughing and chatting, completely absorbed in their lively conversation.
Reese got distracted and accidentally knocked over the water glass on the table.
The warm water splashed all over Elnora’s leg.
Before she could react, the water soaked her, stinging the raw patch on her leg.
She sucked in a sharp breath, the pain making her flinch instinctively.
Reese’s eyes narrowed slightly, instantly realizing Elnora must be injured.
“Elnora, are you hurt?” she asked.
Elnora hesitated for a second before answering softly, “It’s fine, just a little scrape.”

Elnora was wearing a pair of loose slacks today.
Without hesitation, Reese reached over and pulled up Elnora’s pant leg.
Elnora tried to stop her, but Reese wouldn’t take no for an answer and held her back firmly.
When Reese lifted Elnora’s pant leg, a big bruise was instantly revealed.

Reese’s face fell, her brows furrowing in deep concern.
“This is what you call nothing? Just a little scrape?” Her tone was incredulous and full of worry.
Elnora bit her lip and answered quietly. “It’s really nothing. It just looks scary. That’s all.”
Reese’s expression turned stern, her voice sharp with concern as she asked, “How did you get hurt?”
While asking, Reese didn’t even look at Elnora. Her eyes were locked on Albert, heavy with accusation.
Albert’s eyes were locked on Elnora’s leg, his brows furrowed with concern.
He’d suspected she was injured last night, but he had no idea it was this serious.
