Chapter 141: The Blood Contract

Jade’s pov

I looked at her and I couldn’t help but smile as I nodded.

“Sounds like a great idea,” I said, and watched how she smiled even more at this.

I stayed with her for some time as her son was sleeping.

I missed so much, Tia and Elvis have twins and my best friend is also a mother.

I was updated frequently about my family because my mother received updates from them.

It turns out that soon we will have to attend Jay’s wedding as well.

From what my mom told me, Jay has found a really wonderful girl whom he is madly in love

with.

I looked outside the window and realized how different everything is, but it still feels familiar. Their small town has now grown to become more of a massive city in less than 5 years. It makes sense that it is like that because Dante is now the Alpha King.

He didn’t want to live in the city where all Alpha Kings live, but decided to grow his own pack.

I was surprised to hear that he is now the Alpha King but then it made sense.

Alpha King Howard had only one son, who unfortunately died.

He had to choose a successor, and he chose Dante.

I can imagine that most of his relatives who thought he would choose them weren’t happy about that.

Dante told me about all the assassination attempts made on him.

But he did it, I am really proud of all he has achieved in all this time.

I listened as Addison updated me about everyone’s lives.

Turns out Olivia found her mate shortly after I left, and he is from another pack.

Terrence decided to come back and live here permanently as well.

Apparently, the poor guy was so confused after the evil spirit left his body.

He had no idea what had happened to him.

But after knowing the truth, he took it hard.

He seemed like a really kind person from the little I know of him.

I smiled as I covered Addison with a blanket after she dozed off.

I walked out of the room and sighed when I found my sister waiting for me out there.

“You really don’t know when to give up,” she said, and I looked at her.

“I don’t have time for this,” I said and then sighed.

Claim

“Just say what you want to say and then get out of my way,” I added, and she scoffed at this.

I looked at her and watched as she tried to find the words to say to me.

“You are right, I said that it is a sin that you separate a child from its family. Your son can stay and I will take care of him, but you should go,” she said, and I found myself laughing at

this.

I looked up at her, and she wasn’t smiling or anything but was dead serious.

“You are serious, did you really think that I would agree to something like that?” I asked her and she didn’t answer.

“That is what you were going to do, isn’t it?” she asked me, and I watched how she smiled.

“Actually, come to think of it, you signed a blood contract that you would give your child to me,” she reminded me.

“So, what will happen if you break the blood contract? I believe that you said that whoever breaks the blood contract will die,” she added with a smirk.

She took my hand and dragged me downstairs, and then took a knife.

“What the hell are you doing?” I asked her, and she chuckled at this.

I was about to say something when I was suddenly snatched away from her, and I was in

Dante’s arms.

“Hold your horses, she is still my younger sister, and I wouldn’t hurt her. All I want is to win against her, to finally win against the great Jade, and I have the perfect weapon,” she said and stabbed her hand with the knife.

Blood started dripping from her hand to the floor, and my eyes never left hers.

Chapter 147. The Blood Contract

Claim

“Do you remember Dante? The blood contract that all of us signed because Jade insisted?” she asked Dante, who looked at me.

“If she breaks the rules of the contract, then she dies,” she added with a chuckle.

I watched as she closed her eyes and chanted a few words, and the contract that everyone signed appeared.

“Jade refuses to hand over her son to me and leave as she should. She is breaking the laws of the contract, kill her,” she said with a smirk.

I looked at her and I couldn’t stop myself from bursting out with laughter at this.

She looked at me, confused when nothing happened, and I sighed at this.

“Did you really think that I would create something that would put me at a disadvantage?” I asked her and watched how her smile dropped.

I don’t know if she remembers this, but I remember that day as clear as day.

I felt betrayed, and it felt like I couldn’t trust anyone, even my own family.

The only person who stood beside me and was against everything that was happening was

Jay.

My little brother was the only one who stood by me while everyone else was ready to sacrifice me to my sister’s mate.

When Tom advised me that this would be a perfect chance for me to be free, I realized that

he was right.

Tom wanted me to go and be free because he didn’t know what actually happened to rogue

witches.

But also, the idea that I could use my potential child as a bargaining chip didn’t sit well with

me at all.

So I added a few safety measures to the contract just in case.

I wasn’t going to trust the same people who would willingly force me to marry someone I didn’t want to marry.

What if they tried to do something to my child that they did to me?

I didn’t want my child to have the same fate as me.

That contract wasn’t about my freedom at all, but was mostly a protective document for the

future of my child.

Everyone in that room just wanted to use me for their benefit.

What if they tried using my child as well?

Clairn

One of those safety measures was that I would leave my child if I felt that they would be safe and well taken care of.

I am so glad that I made that decision because standing in front of me is a terrible person.

She doesn’t even take care of her child.

How can I expect her to take care of mine?

“You planned this, didn’t you? You have always wanted my mate for yourself,” Sasha accused me, and I just sighed at this.

“No, I just couldn’t bring myself to trust the woman who was willing to use me to save her own ass,” I answered and then looked at Dante.

He doesn’t understand what is happening right now, but I will explain everything to him later

“What was it that you said back then? Oh yes, something about how you have won,” I said to Sasha, and then smiled.

“All you did was win the battle, sister, but I am back to win the war. Are you ready?” I asked her and watched how she smiled at this.

“That almost sounds like a challenge, little sister. Well then, may the best woman win,” she retorted and then walked off.

Does she even know that this battle is already won?
