The silence in the chat stung Bastian into dropping a link. It opened to a livestream of the mating ceremony
He’d had someone bring out my wedding dress and told Zyra to put it on. The gown that had been slightly too small on
me fit Zyra perfectly.
So he’d never intended to mark me at all. The bride in his heart had been Zyra from the very beginning. But his
possessiveness made him want it all. He’d been so sure that I loved him, that after being humiliated by the men he’d
hired, my only option would be to become his caged bird.
On the livestream, the two of them walked down the aisle arm in arm, gazing at each other with deep affection while friends and family applauded and called them a perfect couple. Anyone who didn’t know better would’ve thought this
had always been their ceremony.
I watched with complete indifference, silently counting down.
At the nine–minute mark, Bastian and Zyra had just finished exchanging rings. The beta’s phone rang. Within sixty seconds, he took three calls. Then he came stumbling onto the stage, his voice cracking. “Alpha, we have a serious problem! Every supplier and client just terminated their contracts simultaneously! The banks are pulling all our credit lines and demanding full repayment within twenty–four hours!”
“What?” Bastian’s hands were shaking so badly he could barely hold the ring. “That’s impossible!”
But the beta held out his phone. Whatever Bastian saw on that screen drained every drop of color from his face, and the ring slipped from his fingers and clattered to the floor.
‘I don’t believe it. This can’t be real. Even if Zephyr pulled out of our deal, he couldn’t possibly do this much damage it has to be a prank. It’s all fake!”
He shoved the beta aside and bent down to retrieve the ring, but his hands were trembling so violently that it took him several tries to pick it up. When he finally straightened and ordered the officiant to continue the ceremony the ring out of his hand
‘I dont‘
She was staring at the headline on her phone It read in bold letters that Silvervell Pack’s entire conglomerate had collapsed in ten minutes and now faced catastrophic debt
“Bastian you liar! This whole time you marked me so you could drag me down to hell with you! No wonder you went out of your way to drive Tahita off! You played me!
Bastian hadn’t expected Zyra to turn on him like this Cornered and rejected he shoved her like a trapped animal I gave up Tahlia to give you and our baby a home and you’re going to throw me away over some baseless rumor”

One look at the amount of bleeding told me the baby was gone
But Mrs Silverveil still wouldn’t stop. She kept hitting Zyra while ordering her circle of friends to film the whole thing
“Get it in high definition! I want my daughter–in–law to see how serious I am about teaching this shameless
homewrecker a lesson!”
I actually laughed out loud. What made her think that beating Zyra and killing that baby would make me come back?
Zyra’s forehead was slick with cold sweat as she wailed at Bastian. “Bastian! Are you just going to stand there and watch
your mother beat me to death? This is your own flesh and blood!”
But the sight of her lying in a pool of blood didn’t change Bastian’s expression by a single degree.
That was whenZyra finally understood she’d been discarded. She stopped crying and begging. Instead, she spilled everything like an overturned barrel, telling the whole story of how Mrs. Silverveil had forced me to my knees in front o
the hotel.
“Bastian, you think Tahlia’s ever coming back? Keep dreaming.”
Exposed, Mrs. Silverveil fired back without hesitation. “You little tramp, if you hadn’t bribed those men to assault Tahlia and spread her photos everywhere, making me believe she was actually dirty, would I have forced her to kneel and swear
that oath?”
Bastian listened to them tear each other apart, his gaze shifting between his mother and Zyra like he was looking at
dead women walking.
Finally, he said just one thing: “You two really are something.”
