Chapter 6
Luca frowned. “What happened?”
His assistant answered fast, ‘The heads of all those rival families of yours… somehow, they all showed up.
And they said they came to bring you a wedding gift.”
Luca’s face sank at once.
His voice turned impatient. “Ignore them. They’re nothing but people I’ve already beaten.”
“If they want trouble, have security throw them out.”
He paused, then added coldly, “The only things that matter to me right now are Vivian and the baby.”
‘Until I know they’re both safe, nothing else matters.”
His assistant sounded like he still wanted to say more, “Don, but-”
Luca cut him off again, “Do what I said.”
He was about to hang up.
Then, like something had just occurred to him, he went quiet for a second.
When he spoke again, his tone dropped a fraction, “Where’s Donna? Has she admitted she was wrong? Has
she begged?”
“If she has, bring her to the hospital. As long as she agrees to stay close and take care of Vivian, I won’t
pursue it.”
His assistant hesitated. ‘I… don’t know.”
Luca’s brows pulled together in irritation. “Forget it. If she wants to be stubborn, let her sit there and think
about what she’s done.’
He hung up.
Then he put his phone away and turned back toward the ER.
His hand had just touched the door handle when a sharp, tightly controlled voice came from inside.
‘I said I don’t want you saving this baby.
Luca froze, his whole body going still.
Inside, Vivian’s voice was laced with impatience and anger.
‘Do you not understand? I want this baby gone. If you get rid of it for me, I’ll give you a million.”
Her voice was low, but cruel. “This stays between us. Luca will never know.’

‘Then we’ll just say Rita Conti attacked me and the baby couldn’t be saved. That’s all.”
Luca’s brows snapped together.
He shoved the door open.
Everyone inside jolted.
Vivian’s face went pale on the spot, one hand still frozen in midair.
Luca stared at her.
His voice dropped so low it sounded dangerous. “What did you just say? What do you mean, get rid of the
baby?”
“If the child can be saved, why wouldn’t you want that?”
Vivian’s eyes instantly reddened.
She looked as if she’d been frightened out of her mind, and her voice started to tremble.
‘Don… let me explain…”
Her little face was pale as tears rolled down one by one. “If Donna doesn’t want this baby to be born, then I’ll
give Donna what she wants.”
She bit down hard on her lip, voice thick with tears. “She already hates him this much now. What about
later?”
“If he’s really born and handed over to Donna to raise… She’ll find a way to kill him.”
Her fearful eyes lifted to Luca’s face.
“Instead of waiting until then-waiting until the baby suffers, until I suffer-it’s better now…”
‘Before he’s born. Before he has awareness. Before I’ve poured all my love into him… We should let him go.
now.”
Luca shook.
The next second, he pulled her into his arms and held her tightly. “Vivian… don’t say that.”
His voice had gone hoarse. “The baby is innocent.”
Vivian trembled against him, crying so hard her shoulders shook.
Luca’s heart clearly softened.
But deep in his eyes, there was a flicker of suspicion he couldn’t quite hide.
After a pause, he asked in a low voice, “Then what about what you said just now? About putting it on Rita
