The Mafia Queen’s Revenge 7

Chapter 7

Vivian’s body stiffened visibly as she lifted her head, tears clinging to her lashes.

Her face was full of hurt and grievance. “Are you taking her side now? I’m already like this, and you’re still speaking for her?”

Her voice caught, now edged with resentment. “I just hate her for hurting my baby. Can’t I even say something out of anger?”

‘Besides, it was her fault to begin with.”

The more she spoke, the more aggrieved she sounded, until she was nearly sobbing too hard to finish.

“I actually made up my mind just now… If the baby didn’t make it, I was going to buy a plane ticket and leave

you.”

“I don’t want to keep interfering in your life anymore…”

Luca’s expression changed sharply.

He seized her shoulders.

His voice was low, but there was anger packed into every word. “What did you say? Leave me?”

He pulled her hard into his arms, his tone practically possessive. “I won’t allow it. Vivian, listen to me.”

“You and the baby-I’m not letting go of either of you. Anyone who hurts you will pay for it.”

Vivian slowly stopped crying in his embrace.

She looked up at him, her eyes still wet. “Then will you punish her for me?”

Luca’s gaze turned cold. “Yes. If she dared hurt you and the baby, she deserves whatever comes next.”

Only then did Vivian smile again through her tears.

She leaned against him and asked softly, ‘Then… will you divorce her? I don’t want her raising my baby. I don’t

trust her.’

Luca paused.

Then he went silent.

“You won’t let her raise the child…”

Vivian didn’t get the answer she wanted.

Panic flashed through her eyes. “But then the baby won’t be legitimate.”

Her voice started to shake again. ‘You said I’m the one you love most.”

“You said you stopped loving her long ago. That all you had left for her was history and a sense of

obligation…”

Luca closed his eyes.

It was a long time before he answered, “Yes. You’re the one I love most.”

His voice was slow and low. “But every time I think about divorcing her, about cutting her completely out of my life…”

He stopped.

His brows drew tight. “It feels wrong. Like someone is tearing something out of me by force.”

He hugged Vivian closer, like he was trying to convince himself. “Maybe… I’m just too sentimental. Don’t

worry. I’ll send her overseas.

‘She’ll never appear in front of you or the baby again. And she won’t hurt you anymore.”

Only then did Vivian smile for real.

She nodded and softened. “Okay…”

The doctor beside them let out a quiet breath of relief.

After another examination, the results came back stable.

‘The baby’s fine. We’ll prescribe something, but she can be discharged.”

The second Vivian heard that, she grabbed Luca’s hand. “Don… The wedding…”

Her eyes were full of bitterness and defiance. “The wedding you planned for me… There’s still an hour left

before it starts.

“If we go back now, we can still make it.”

Luca looked at her, then smiled. “Okay. Whatever you want.”

The wedding venue glittered with light as music flowed through the room.

Vivian changed into a fresh gown and stepped onto the stage smiling.

Luca stood at her side, his usual composure restored.

The emcee had just lifted the mic to speak when a voice suddenly rang out from the audience. ‘Hold on.”

It wasn’t loud.

But it was perfectly clear.

Several men rose to their feet at once.

They were all in impeccably cut suits, and every one of them wore the same amused expression.

One of them smiled. ‘Don Moretti. This is such a joyful occasion. How could we possibly not come and bring you a gift?”
