Penelope’s Pov

Penelope’s hands were still lingering on Aurora’s chest, drawing slow, forming sensual tingling circles with the tips of her fingers. The fabric of Aurora’s pink dress was soft and tiny under her skin, and she could feel the warmth of the younger woman’s skin beneath it. She could feel Aurora’s heartbeat quickening, could see the way her breath was getting slightly shallower with each passing second.
The tension in the room had shifted totally. What had started as a friendly visit between two women who shared a common interest in taking down Marcus’s new wife had morphed into something else entirely. Something charged and dangerous and exciting.
“Yes,” Aurora said finally, breaking the silence that had stretched between them. She shifted uncomfortably on the couch, seeming torn between leaning into Penelope’s touch and pulling away from it. “I came back to win Marcus. I want him back for myself.”
She reached for her wine glass and took a long sip, using the movement as an excuse to create a little bit of distance. But Penelope’s hand remained exactly where it was, waiting patiently and persistently.
“I don’t think that local girl Elara, or whatever she’s called, is worthy of him,” Aurora continued, her voice gaining confidence as she spoke. “Honestly, I don’t understand what Marcus sees in her at all.”
“Yes, that’s absolutely true,” Penelope agreed, sitting up straighter but keeping her hand resting casually on Aurora’s knee now. Her fingers splayed across the smooth skin just above Aurora’s knee, warm and possessive. “She’s completely wrong for him in every way. Wrong background, wrong upbringing, wrong education, wrong everything.” The girl’s life as a whole is just wrong.
She let her thumb trace small, deliberate circles on Aurora’s knee, the movement subtle but unmistakable in its intent. “So what’s your plan of action, darling? Do you have anything specifically in mind that you want to do to get this result you’re after?”
Aurora bit her lip, thinking. Penelope watched the movement, watched the way Aurora’s teeth pressed into that full bottom lip, and felt a familiar heat low in her belly.
“Not really,” Aurora admitted. “I just want to seduce him, I guess? Make him remember what we had together, what he’s missing by being with her instead of me. Remind him of all the good times, all the passion we used to have.”
Both of them laughed at that, the sound filling the quiet penthouse. It was a knowing laugh, the kind that passed between women who understood exactly how men worked, how simple they really were beneath all their posturing and power.
Penelope’s hand slid higher up Aurora’s thigh during the laugh, resting there like it was the most natural thing in the world. Aurora didn’t move away. Didn’t push her hand off. Just let it stay there, heavy and warm through the thin fabric of her dress.
“Well, I have an idea that might help you,” Penelope said, leaning in closer so their faces were only inches apart. She could smell Aurora’s perfume more strongly now, that vanilla and floral scent mixing with the red wine on her breath. “It’s very good that you came to me about this. I’m the queen of ideas, after all. The queen of getting what I want.”
“What is it?” Aurora asked, her voice slightly breathless.

Penelope’s own voice dropped lower, more conspiratorial, like they were plotting something deliciously forbidden, Which, she supposed, they were.
“What if you drug him?” Penelope suggested, watching Aurora’s reaction carefully. “Or get him really. really drunk? Just enough that his inhibitions are lowered, that he stops overthinking everything the way he always does. Then you fuck him. Really well. Show him exactly what he’s missing, what he gave up when he let you walk away.”
She paused, licking her lips slowly and deliberately, her eyes locked on Aurora’s. “I’m sure you fuck really well. You have that look about you. That confidence.”
Aurora’s cheeks flushed a deep pink, the color spreading down her neck and disappearing beneath the neckline of her dress. Whether it was from the wine or the compliment or the hand creeping higher up her thigh, Penelope couldn’t tell. Maybe it was all three.
“I mean, I could try that,” Aurora said hesitantly, her voice wavering slightly. “But the problem is there’s no space to even see him one-on-one anymore. Elara is always stuck with him, constantly. Walking around him like a hawk watching its prey. She barely lets him out of her sight, or even gives him a breathing space especially since I moved into the guest house.”
“Well, Elara is just a little problem we can take care of,” Penelope said dismissively, waving her free hand through the air like she was brushing away a minor inconvenience. “We can handle her easily, get her out of the way for a night or two. Maybe longer if we’re smart about it. Then you’ll have Marcus completely to yourself, with no interruptions.”
Aurora’s eyes widened with interest, a spark of hope lighting up her face. “Can we really do that? Can we actually get rid of her temporarily?”
“Yes, yes we absolutely can,” Penelope answered with complete confidence. She knew how to manipulate situations, how to move pieces on the board until everything lined up exactly how she wanted it.
She reached up with her other hand and pulled a strand of Aurora’s blonde hair away from her face, tucking it gently behind her ear. But her fingers didn’t stop there. They lingered, tracing slowly along Aurora’s jawline, feeling the smoothness of her skin, the delicate bone structure beneath.
“Let’s keep that our little secret while we work toward it, okay?” Penelope murmured, her face moving even closer to Aurora’s now. So close she could count the younger woman’s eyelashes if she wanted to. “Just between us girls. No one else needs to know what we’re planning.”
“Yes,” Aurora whispered, her voice barely audible. Then she reached for her wine glass again and took a large gulp, like she needed the liquid courage to deal with whatever was happening between them.
She laughed suddenly, looking down at the empty glass in her hand with surprise. “I didn’t even realize we’ve been having this conversation for so long. This is already my third glass. I never drink this much usually.”
“Well, it doesn’t matter,” Penelope said smoothly, taking the empty glass from Aurora’s hand and setting it on the coffee table alongside her own barely-touched one.
She turned back to face Aurora fully now, shifting her body so their knees were touching, so there was barely any space between them at all. The air felt thick, charged with possibility and wine and something more primal.

Penelope leaned forward slowly, deliberately, giving Aurora plenty of time to pull away if she wanted to. To stand up, to make an excuse, to leave.
She didn’t.
Penelope pressed her lips against Aurora’s, soft and testing at first. The kiss was gentle, exploratory, tasting of expensive red wine and sweet lipgloss and desire.
Aurora’s eyes went wide with shock, her body going very still. But she didn’t pull back. Didn’t push Penelope away.
When Penelope finally broke the kiss and pulled away slightly, just enough to see Aurora’s face clearly, she smiled. A slow, knowing smile that held promises of more to come.
“You like that?” she asked, her voice husky.
Aurora just nodded, unable or unwilling to form words. Her face was flushed deep red now, her breathing uneven and quick, her pupils dilated.
“Good,” Penelope whispered.
She leaned in again, this time kissing Aurora deeper, with more intention and hunger. Her hand moved from Aurora’s thigh to her waist, fingers pressing into the soft flesh there. Then slowly, deliberately, her hand traveled up Aurora’s ribcage, feeling every curve, every breath.
Aurora gasped against Penelope’s mouth when her hand finally reached its destination, cupping Aurora’s breast gently through the fabric of her dress and squeezing softly.
