Chapter 279 The Final Play
She had raised the two brothers herself, so she knew exactly how to twist Jared around her finger. If she could get Chase kicked out of the house, all that exhausting acting would finally pay off.

Chase let out a disgusted laugh. “You murdered her just to get your hands on that will, and now you’re not even trying to hide it. Don’t you think you’ll pay for that? Do you even sleep at night?”
The thought that they were behind her death made Chase want to kill them both. Everything Tracy had said before was true; he had just been too blind and stupid to see it. He had actually thought Tracy was just acting out for attention.
Now he saw the truth. These two had been playing them from the start, poisoning their relationship until there was nothing left.
Faye’s face went pale and she slumped to the floor. How did this idiot know? She wondered. They had been so careful. They hadn’t even dealt with the hitman directly, so there was no way it could be traced back to them.
Yvonne started sobbing. “You keep saying we killed her, but where’s your proof? Stop making things up. My mom is only scared because she’s a good person and you’re being a bully. You’re not going to scare us into confessing to something we didn’t do.”
She was sure he had nothing. She always covered her tracks. Besides, the White family handled the dirty work and wiped the evidence clean. They were untouchable.
Faye scrambled up and found her voice again. “Yvonne’s right. Chase, I’ve looked after you for twenty years. Even if you don’t love me, you should at least respect what I’ve done for you. Yvonne has spent her whole life trying to make you happy, and this is how you treat her? Siding with Tracy to drag us through the mud?”
She always went back to the I raised you card because she knew it worked. She had been the one to fill their heads with these ideas since they were kids, and she knew exactly which buttons to push.
Chase looked at the blood on his hands, his heart heavy with rage. “If it weren’t for those twenty years, I’d have turned you in already. I gave you every chance to be honest, and you blew it. I saw the will in your hand, Yvonne. I saw the thumbprint. That’s all the proof I need that you killed her for the money.”
He reached out to grab her, desperate to get that document before she could hide it. Faye tried to step in his way, but Chase shoved her aside. She went down hard, her head hitting the corner of the table with a sickening thud. She was out cold instantly.

Yvonne screamed, “Mom! Wake up! Please, talk to me!”
Chase didn’t care; he was still going for the will, but Jared stepped in and shoved him back. “Have you lost your mind? You hit Yvonne and now you’ve knocked Faye out? You’re a monster! Get out of this house. We don’t want a brother like you here.”
In his head, Jared was desperate. Don’t hate me. I’m doing this to save the company and keep you out of this mess. Just hold on, they won’t be winning for long.
Chase stared at him, stunned. “You don’t believe me? I’m telling you, I saw it…”
“Enough!” Jared yelled, picking Faye up. “You’ve done enough damage. Go pack your things and get out before I get back. The Xander family is done with you.”
He carried Faye out without looking back.
Yvonne looked at Chase and let out a cold smirk. She tucked the will away right in front of his face. “So what if you saw it? Jared doesn’t care. Tomorrow, I’m taking every share she had. Twenty percent. I’m going to be the biggest shareholder in this company.”
She was so close to having everything. She’d have the power, and she’d have Tracy under her thumb forever. She could hardly contain her excitement.
Chase couldn’t take it. He raised his hand to slap the smug look off her face. “You’re a parasite, Yvonne. Don’t think you’ve won yet.”
