Chapter 247 What’s Your Name?Â
Maya pressed both pieces of chocolate into his palm and said gently. “Here, eat them.”Â
He didn’t take them. Instead, he drew his hand back a little and shook his head. “I don’t want them.”Â
Maya pushed them into his hand anyway. “If I give them to you, you take them. I’m your big sis, so you have to listen to me.Â
“I don’t need to restore my strength right now. Really.”Â
She was telling the truth.Â
Maya had realized that her body didn’t seem to need much energy here. Or maybe the rules of this place simply worked differently for her.Â
She almost never felt hungry.Â
“Onyx, I feel like you’re the type who gives too much.” Maya lowered her head and looked into his eyes. “If you continue ike this, people will walk all over you.”Â
Number 4 stared blankly at Maya for a moment before accepting the chocolate.Â
Many adults had said similar things to him before.Â
But whenever they said it, there was always this high-and-mighty edge in their tone.Â
Or they sounded as if they were judging his worth and deciding whether he was valuable enough to raise.Â
Number 4 didn’t turn her down again. He carefully peeled open one of the wrappers. The chocolate inside had already melted and was sticking messily to the foil.Â
He took a tiny bite. The bitterness of cocoa and the sweetness of chocolate melted together on his tongue.Â
His eyes instantly brightened, and he looked up, giving Maya a shy little smile.Â
Maya reached over and patted his head.Â
Time felt vague on the island.Â
Maya didn’t know exactly how long she had been there.Â
Maybe it had been two months, or maybe even longer.Â
Number 4 was still the same as before.Â
He was small, dirty, and quiet, always trailing behind her like a little tail that never made a sound.Â
When Maya arrived there, she had been wearing two layers of clothing.Â
Because of that, she could wash one set and switch between them.Â

Chapter 247 What’s Your Name?Â
The boy fell silent again.Â
He was the type to retreat when he encountered difficulties.Â
Whenever something happened, he would hide away and stop talking.Â
The thought that this sweet little boy might actually grow into someone as ruthless as Edric made Maya shudder.Â
Kindness was the last word anyone would use to describe Edric.Â
His way of thinking was exactly the same as Philbert’s. It was the typical mindset of a politician. As long as the final result was what they wanted, they wouldn’t care if the road there was soaked in blood.Â
The body count didn’t matter, as long as the goal was reached.Â
It was hard to believe the good-tempered child standing in front of her could ever grow into someone likeÂ
that.Â
Maya thought it over, looked at him, and couldn’t help pinching his chubby cheek. She murmured, “Forget it.”Â
It didn’t matter.Â
Compared with figuring out who was who, surviving was the most important thing right now.Â
Number 4’s cheek turned slightly red from her pinch.Â
“After we get out, I’ll definitely tell you my name,” the boy said, each word spoken with great seriousness,Â
Maya looked at his solemn expression and felt her heart soften in a way she could not quite explain. She brushed it off and said, “Sure. After we get out, I’ll definitely tell you my name too.”Â
His tone became even more serious than before. “Then you really have to tell me. I’ll remember you.”Â
Maya could not stop herself from reaching out and squeezing his face. “Onyx, you’re seriously the sweetest little thing.”Â
He was such a good child.Â
It was hard to understand how he grew up to become Edric.Â
Number 4’s face had turned red from being pinched and squeezed. His voice came out muffled. “Sissy, no armed men have come in here for two months. That means a lot of people on the other teams have died.”Â
