Chapter 133
Evelyn was many things, but never careless.
It was shameful of me. My first thought was to properly apologize to her; however, this situation was far from over. What we needed to do was track down Bianca.
Hearing both Josie’s side of the story, as well as Diana’s possible theory, changed things immensely. My wolf demanded the full truth otherwise, it was heading toward another rage-filled rampage.
“Henri!” I shouted.
The beta appeared at the door behind Diana. “Sir?”
The orders came out rough and strained from my throat. “Take two soldiers and find Bianca! Bring her directly to my office.”
“And if she should try to resist?”
“I don’t give a fuck if you have to drag her there!”
Evelyn’s POV
Was it really Bianca’s intention to see me killed? Her schemes in the past had always been childish and immature at best. But this…This was taking things to a whole new level.
I almost couldn’t believe the reaction this whole situation had brought out of Kane. I figured as soon as Josie mentioned Bianca’s name that he would have found some way to either defend the woman or pass it off as a misunderstanding.
But no.
After Kane gave out the orders to Henri, he stormed out of the medical ward, but not without taking hold of my hand. I could scarcely believe that he wanted me to be a part of this meeting.
Nevertheless, I followed him back to the office, where a few moments later, we were met with the shrilling sound of Bianca’s voice. “What are you doing? Get your hands off of me! This is ridiculous! Who do you think you are to drag me around?!”
As soon as she entered the office, that familiar veil of innocence fell over Bianca’s features. She swiftly approached Kane with a pleading look. “Oh, Kane! What’s going on?”
Kane merely held up the bloodied necklace that was still wrapped around his other hand. Bianca froze at the sight of it.
“What’s that?” she asked.
“Oh, I think you know what it is?” Kane said icily.
“It was you who had been watching me all this time, wasn’t it?” I questioned.
Her mouth pulled into an arrogant sneer, “I have no idea what you’re talking about. Why on earth would I waste my time trying to spy on you? You’re not interesting enough.”
I stepped out of Kane’s hold and moved closer. “There isn’t a single person in this entire house who knew where I kept that box of my mother’s belongings, Not only that, but how else would you have known about the promise that I had made to Kane about not treating the rogue wolves without him being present?”

Bianca went rigid. Her face flushed a deep shade of crimson.
“If you’re wondering what’s become of your friend, Josie, you’ll be happy to know that Evelyn successfully patched her up,” Kane informed her.
Her eyes widened, yet she kept her lips firmly sealed.
“She could have died, Bianca,” I said. “Josie’s death would have been on your hands.”
Kane scowled. “Her blood is on your hands, nonetheless. The question remains, what the hell do I do with you now?”
Bianca gasped. Her eyes filled with fearful tears. “What do you mean? It’s not my fault what happened. How was I supposed to know that she would get attacked? Kane, you can’t—”
“Tell me why you plotted this scheme in the first place,” he demanded harshly. “Otherwise, I’m sending you back to the restricted area to deal with the feral wolves yourself.”
