184 Chapter 184 Born of Both
Daughter’s POV 1
“You three have been feeding information to the packs about incoming attacks,” I stated, the words cutting through the forest air like a blade.
“We send word to Alpha Damien. He handles everything from there,” Asher replied, his voice steady despite the gravity of his confession.
Hot tears began streaming down my face, dampening the white fur around my muzzle. The salt taste of betrayal mixed with confusion overwhelmed my
senses.
I turned away from Asher, desperate to hide my vulnerability. I couldn’t let him witness this moment of complete emotional collapse.
Everything I believed about myself was crumbling. Wolves were supposed to be my enemies. I was trained to despise them, hunt them, destroy them. Yet here I stood, trapped in the very form I was taught to hate.
“Follow me,” Asher said softly, moving to walk beside me through the dense
underbrush.
My paws hesitated against the forest floor, but something inside urged me forward. I trailed behind him until we reached a crystal–clear stream cutting through the trees.
He gestured toward the water with a subtle nod. I approached the edge cautiously, and the reflection staring back at me stole my breath away.
A white wolf with striking black markings under her chin and scattered across her body gazed back at me from the rippling surface.
“Elena is completely white. Damien is solid black. You carry both their colors, blended perfectly together. I’ve never seen anything like your markings in my entire life,” Asher explained, his voice filled with awe.

“Nobody ever mentioned their missing daughter until I was sent to infiltrate their pack,” I whispered, my voice barely audible above the flowing water.
“That’s because they wanted to keep you in the dark about everything. You were raised on military bases, completely isolated from the supernatural world. They sent you straight into the Obsidian pack knowing Elena would recognize you immediately. They understood that seeing you would trigger something in her that couldn’t be ignored. You were their weapon, designed specifically to exploit her maternal instincts. The Hunters knew Elena would never harm her own child. They counted on her choosing death over hurting you,” Asher revealed.
The weight of his words crushed down on my chest. “I spent every day of my life learning to hate them. Now you’re telling me I’m supposed to be one of
them?”
“That was exactly their plan. You’ve noticed the changes happening to your body recently. Those cuts and bruises that disappeared overnight on your hands and feet. Your ability to see clearly in complete darkness. The constant headaches you’ve been experiencing are your wolf fighting to break free and establish contact with you. Once she emerges fully, you’ll have a constant companion living in your mind. You’ll never experience true loneliness again,” Asher explained patiently.
“And the incredible strength during training sessions with Corbin these past weeks,” I added, pieces of the puzzle finally clicking into place.
“Nobody on this entire base can explain how you accomplished those feats. No human possesses that kind of raw power,” Asher confirmed.
A deep groan escaped my throat as my body collapsed to the forest floor again. My bones began snapping and reshaping themselves as I shifted back to human form. This transformation felt different though, less excruciating
and much faster than before.
Looking down, I realized my naked state just as Asher disappeared briefly into the trees. He returned moments later carrying clothes in his mouth,

dropping them at my feet.
“Elena brought these for you. She knew you’d need them after your first shift,” Asher said.
I dressed quickly while Asher shifted back to human form and pulled on a pair of shorts. We sat together beside the flowing stream while my mind struggled to process this life–altering revelation.
I grew up completely alone, believing my parents abandoned me without a second thought. Now I was learning they had been searching desperately for me all these years.
The parents I thought didn’t care appeared to care more than I ever
imagined possible.
Asher remained patiently beside me until I felt ready to face the truth waiting back in that clearing. Finally, I stood and walked back through the forest where Damien and Elena were waiting.
Koa and Nico were there initially, but they smiled warmly at me before heading back toward the base, giving us privacy for this family reunion.
I positioned myself directly in front of Damien and Elena, drawing a deep breath to steady my nerves.
I glanced at Asher for reassurance before meeting their expectant gazes.
“Hold on just a minute. Is he your mate?” Damien suddenly demanded, his voice sharp with protective intensity.
Shock coursed through me as I whipped around to stare at Asher with wide
eyes.
