Chapter 325

Dominic’s POV

My wolf was furious. He wanted blood. He wanted revenge. And most of all, he wanted me to suffer for what I had

done.

“You left her,” he kept saying. “You abandoned our mate… For her.”

I gritted my teeth and pushed him down harder. He didn’t understand. He couldn’t understand. All he knew was that our mate was in danger and I’d walked away with Vivian instead.

But I hadn’t had a choice. If I’d chosen Ellie, they would have slit Vivian’s throat right there in front of us. At least this way, both of them were still alive. At least this way, I had a chance to save them both.

I just hoped Ellie would understand that when I found her.

If I found her.

My chest tightened at the thought. No. I would find her. I had to.

Finally, after hours of running, the warehouse came into view. It looked exactly as it had last night-dilapidated, half-collapsed, with vines crawling up the old brick walls. I slowed to a stop at the edge of the clearing and scanned the area.

All was quiet, but that didn’t mean we were alone.

I gestured for my warriors to spread out and search the perimeter. They moved silently, disappearing into the trees. My Beta stayed close as I walked toward the entrance.

The door was still hanging off its hinges from where I’d broken through. I stepped inside and looked around.

Empty.

The chair where Vivian had been tied was knocked over on its side. There were scuff marks on the floor, dried blood in a few spots. But no Ellie. No rogues.

“Alpha,” one of my men called from the doorway. “We’ve got tracks heading north. But they’re faint. Looks like they tried to cover them.”

I stood and walked over. He pointed to the ground just outside the entrance. I could see the faintly disturbed earth, branches laid over footprints, leaves scattered to hide the trail. They’d done a decent job, but not good enough.

“Follow it,” I ordered. “See where it leads.”

He motioned to two of the warriors, and they took off into the trees. The rest of us stayed behind to search the warehouse more thoroughly.

I walked the perimeter of the room, looking for anything they might have left behind. A piece of fabric. A weapon. Anything that could tell me where they’d gone or what they were planning.

But there was nothing. Just blood and dirt and the lingering scent of rogues.

I was about to head back outside when I heard a noise from the back of the warehouse. It was faint, but it wasn’t the sound of the building settling. It sounded like shuffling footsteps.

I froze and tilted my head, listening.

There it was again.

I motioned for my Beta to follow, and we moved toward the sound. There was a door at the back of the room, partially hidden behind a pile of old crates. I pushed them aside and grabbed the handle.

Locked.

I didn’t bother trying to pick it. I just kicked the door in. It went easily, the lock rotted from years of disuse.

The room beyond was small and dark, barely more than a closet. And huddled in the corner, on a pile of dirty blankets, was a rogue. He looked young, with shaggy hair and a torn jacket. His eyes went wide when he saw me, and he scrambled backward until he hit the wall.

“Please,” he said, holding up his hands. “I don’t want any trouble.”

I stepped into the room. My Beta blocked the exit.

“What are you doing here?” I asked.

“I-I live here,” he said quickly. “I didn’t know this place belonged to anyone. I swear, I’ll leave right now—”

“You’re a rogue.” I moved closer. “Are you with that group that took my

mate?”

He shook his head quickly, dirty hair falling into his eyes.
