Chapter 13
Luna Lovette’s POV
The mention of his parents reminded me of my late ones, though I was interested in whatever price he paid for the breakup
between him and Zeeva.
Hearing that, I was saddened and guilty for the wreck I must have caused in another woman’s home, but this was all Alpha
Kodak’s fault.
If we could come to terms with Zeeva and explain things to her, we would not need to get married.
Nevertheless, I understand that this pup was supposedly his heir as well, so I’m determined to win that fight and keep him or her forever so that Alpha Kodak can go back to his woman.
“My parents want to speak with you. Should I activate the speaker?” I heard him ask, and I contemplated if I should.
I hadn’t missed my parents the way I was doing now, just by the mere mention of the name of his parents.
Losing them at the age of thirteen was the worst pain I ever felt in my life but it hardened me, which was the reason I found it easy to part with any man who dared to cheat on me.
It was tough to make out the cheating and greedy men but I found them out somehow before moving to the next stage of the relationship.
Before coming to the pack, they were all loving, but the moment they saw things about the development of my pack and achievements, everything changed about them.
I don’t know if it was the Moon goddess’s way of keeping me single, but that only landed me in trouble.
No matter what, I would meet his parents at the wedding, so I won’t be able to avoid them. “Okay,” I agreed, surprised by the smile that tugged at the corner of his lips.
Don’t get me wrong. It was different from his usual persona, and there was some form of paleness to him which I assumed was due to the accident, except that I could not see any injuries whatsoever.
I don’t know why speaking on the phone with his parents made me nervous because somehow, I had to give them the same
respect as my parents.
“Alpha…” I honestly did not know the name of his parents and was stuck, but his mother saved my ass.
“Aren’t we old enough to be your parents?” She cut in, not knowing that it was my lack of knowing their names, but then, her words sank deep.
It seemed to me that they were taking this whole thing wrongly. I was pregnant with her son did not mean we were going to end up together.
Alpha Kodak’s ego was too much for me to handle, and I was not going to stress myself by it.
My desire for marriage ended with the last man I dated, and that was never going to change, making it strange to address them that way, but I didn’t want to kill their excitement, so I obliged.
“Mom, Dad, how are you?”
“We should be asking how you are. Alpha pups aren’t easy to carry, so don’t worry. I will be returning to take care of you in a few days. I will just round up what I’m doing here.”
Now I was beginning to have a headache. It seems to me that she thinks I’m going to be his daughter-in-law for real.

“It’s not….” I wanted to tell them it wasn’t necessary since this was going to be a contract, but Alpha Kodak gave me a look that got me confused.
I raised my brows to show him that I didn’t understand what he meant, but shaking his head, I understood it quite well and changed my mind, but it wasn’t over.
“The Silver Pack will be very excited to have you.”
Honestly, his parents’ happiness made me guilty. The fact that my thoughts were not in sync with theirs and the fact that Alpha Kodak broke up with Zeeva for the sake of this pup.
I just hope she’ll have it in her to forgive him when the time is right.
His mother’s voice could still be heard at the end of the line.
“Oh, you don’t have to stress yourself with the wedding. We shall take care of everything, and please forgive us. I know you don’t love our son, but trust me, he’s a good boy.”
Now I was relieved that I didn’t have to fake loving Alpha Kodak, but also felt lost, not understanding where the conversation was going.
Gladly, Alpha Kodak managed to cut them off. Maybe, he saw my distress.
“Mom, Dad, why don’t we talk again later? I am still trying to smoothen things with Luna Lovette.”
“Alright. You shall see us in a few days,” I heard his mother saying before ending the call.
I was glad when the call ended, but that was when Alpha Kodak made the most ridiculous offer.
