Stella struggled desperately to protect her gown, refusing to let anyone touch her.
Her gaze fixed desperately on Adrian, filled with anxiety and hope.
Just then, Adrian’s weak voice emerged.
“I’m not dead yet – how dare you mess with Stella like that?”
Before anyone could respond, Adrian somehow found the strength to rise from bed and stand normally!
Everyone stared in shock, as if witnessing a miracle.
“The Alpha King! The future Alpha King is awake!”
“I heard Stella tried many folk remedies – she actually managed to save him!”
“It seems the Luna position truly belongs to her after all.”
The Alpha King and Luna Queen were both surprised and delighted.
Stella immediately threw herself into Adrian’s arms.
“Adrian, you’re finally awake! I was so afraid I’d lost you forever!”
“Silly girl, you’ve suffered these past days.”
Adrian comforted the woman in his arms, then addressed the entire gathering loudly.

“Let the ceremony continue we mustn’t miss the auspicious time!”
The couple walked hand in hand through the crowd, passing right by me. Stella shot me a triumphant, challenging look.
I sat calmly, just counting silently in my mind.

Time’s up!
Adrian, who had just stepped out the door, suddenly collapsed, crashing to the ground.
Screams erupted all around.
“The future Alpha King’s leg! It’s covered in maggots!”
“Not just his leg! Look there too!”
“Wasn’t he fine just moments ago? How did this happen?”
Adrian felt the world spinning as excruciating, bone-deep pain shot through his injured leg, spreading all the way to his groin and abdomen!
Stella ripped off her veil to stare at the horrific scene, shaking her head in disbelief, muttering to herself.
“How is this possible… the witch clearly said… he promised…”
The Alpha King and Luna Queen barely had time to process Adrian’s miraculous recovery before witnessing this gruesome turn of events. Without the
guards’ support, they would have collapsed.
The pack healer rushed over with his medical kit, frantically examining Adrian before finally sighing heavily and kneeling tremblingly before the Alpha King and Luna Queen.
“Your Majesties, the future Alpha King has been… poisoned!”
“What? How could he be poisoned?”
Stella panicked and tried to sneak away through the crowd, but Kai’s sharp voice called out.
“Luna, where are you going?”
“My brother has been under your constant care. Surely you know better than anyone why he’s been poisoned!”
Stella, being naturally timid and cowardly, immediately crumbled under the direct confrontation, falling to her knees with a thud and shakily confessing everything.
“It was the witch’s divine medicine! He said it could raise the dead and mend bones. He swore Adrian was just unconscious and the medicine would definitely work!”
“Your Majesties, please investigate! That was divine medicine, not poison. I had no idea it would harm Adrian like this!”
“Everyone saw it work – Adrian was completely normal just moments ago! That medicine really was effective!”
Stella frantically tried to explain, but the pack healer grimly announced:
“That confirms it. This poison does have temporary revival effects, allowing short-term mental clarity, but it’s extremely vicious. The toxins eat away at flesh inch by inch, from the calf to the thigh to the… reproductive organs…”
