After the interview ended, the male reporter shook Brandon’s hand, called over the cameraman, and headed inside.

‘Did you see that woman who just walked by? That height, that body, that face-man, if I could sleep with her once, I’d die happy,” said the reporter.

“I’d watch myself if I were you. That’s Mr. Grimes’ woman,” the cameraman warned.

“He’s already tired of her and doesn’t want her anymore,” the reporter muttered.

While they were talking, both men looked up and spotted Matilda. Their eyes were immediately glued to her.

She was helping Neil put up an advertising sign. Her shirt had ridden up, showing her slim waist, the smooth curve leading down to her hips, forming a perfect half-circle.

The reporter swallowed hard and said in a low voice, “I swear, I’m gonna sleep with her today. Cover for me later.”

“Cut it out,” the cameraman said. “Even if Brandon’s done with her, that doesn’t mean you get a turn.”

“My uncle has ties with his dad. Brandon wouldn’t dare touch me. And this isn’t the first time that woman’s been with someone else. One time in secret won’t be a big deal.” The reporter pressed his tongue against his cheek, his eyes burning as he stared at Matilda.

Matilda and Neil finished setting up their booth in about half an hour.

“There aren’t many people around right now. I’ll go look around,” Matilda said.

Neil just nodded without saying much.

After circling halfway through the hall, Matilda realized her so-called “crime” of stealing company secrets had turned her into public enemy number one.

She tried to check out a new silicon material at a tech company’s booth, but before she even got close, the staff glared at her like she was toxic.

At FrostCore Tech’s booth, she wanted to discuss full-process analog circuit coverage for possible cooperation. But the manager looked at her like she was some kind of walking disaster.

She then turned to the media, but several outlets had clearly coordinated things. When filming the expo, they purposely skipped over Coreline Eternity. Her booth was the only one left completely deserted.

Meanwhile, a few women who had come for Neil tried to grope him. His face went cold and stormy, and he drove them off.

Watching Crossen Technology’s booth swarming with people while hers stayed dead quiet, Matilda felt her heart sink.

The Infinity Watch and the human eye chips were her brainchildren, her hard work. She had nurtured them for ten long months, investing all her blood, sweat, and tears, overcoming countless challenges, only for them to end up calling someone else “mother”.

The feeling was impossible to put into words.

Because Brandon had shown up in person, Crossen Technology’s booth was jam-packed.

The air conditioning wasn’t enough. Sweat gathered on his forehead under his suit and tie. He tugged at his tie in irritation.

Seeing this, Shelby immediately pulled out a tissue and tiptoed to wipe his sweat.

Brandon dodged her touch. Her eyes instantly dimmed.

Just days ago, in the car, they had been a breath away from crossing the line.

His burning body had pressed against hers, and his knee had been wedged between her legs. One of his hands pinned both of her wrists above her head while he kissed her, his head tilted.

His other hand tore open her collar as he kissed down her skin. The air in the car had all but caught fire.

But the moment her skirt rode up to her waist, Brandon suddenly froze. He stopped everything and climbed off her.

He got out of the car, shoved one hand in his pocket, leaned against the hood, and lit a cigarette.

Shelby had burned with frustration. Still, after fixing her clothes, she stepped out, hugged him tightly, and said softly, “I know you still have Matilda in your heart. I’ll give you time, but I want to stand by you in your career like she did. Can you let me work at the company?”

Brandon stubbed out his cigarette, gave a nod, and gently pushed her away. From then till now, he kept her at arm’s length, neither close nor distant.

But Shelby wasn’t worried. She was sure that after today, Brandon wouldn’t be thinking about Matilda’s body anymore.

Brandon took the tissue from Shelby’s hand and wiped his own sweat.

He stepped forward and said to the crowd with polite detachment, “Thank you all for your support. Please turn your attention to the products. Crossen Technology is here only for those who need it.”

As soon as he finished, bodyguards came forward and cleared a path. He walked to the rest area on the second floor.

He wasn’t really leaving. He just wanted to see if Matilda, standing at her empty booth, regretted the divorce.

But too many people followed him, so he had to wait until the crowd thinned before going over.

Shelby wanted to leave with him, but an elderly man in his sixties called out to her, “Miss, could you help me with one of your company’s cameras?”

She turned and looked him over. He wore a gray polo shirt with a pen tucked into his chest pocket. His neatly combed hair was streaked with silver, giving him a scholarly look. He seemed like a casual visitor.

“I’m sorry, sir,” Shelby admitted honestly. “I just started here and don’t know much about the products yet. I can find someone else to help you.”

But every other staff member already had ten customers waiting. She was the only one free.

So she had no choice but to stand there with the old man for five minutes, though her eyes kept darting toward the rest area in case Brandon went to Matilda.

The old man smiled faintly and asked, “Miss, how many days have you been working?”

“Six days,” Shelby answered absentmindedly.

“Six days, and you still haven’t memorized the specifications of a single camera, huh?” the old man asked.

“Huh?” Shelby turned and saw him smile, shake his head, and walk away.

She didn’t think much of it and immediately hurried to the rest area.

Meanwhile, the old man visited every single company booth at the expo. Finally, he stopped at the Coreline Eternity booth.

Matilda pulled herself together, straightened her expression, and walked over.

She immediately noticed the pen clipped to his pocket was unusual. The tiny stone on the cap wasn’t just for decoration-it was a hidden camera.
